Chapter 1276: Bumps
The ice was soon moved away and Sword One carried the fire basin which was used in winter. That was something she had just thought of. Everything happened so fast, and she felt that Elder Miss must have suffered from the cold. The fire basin should keep her warm.
Soon the room was warmed up by the fire basin.
Qing carried some new blankets, and replaced the old ones. The old blankets had been inside the room for too long so they were not clean.
With new blankets around her and a fire basin inside, Gu Chaoyan felt slightly better.
She had woken up and was now warmer up after the cold.
She looked a bit confused.
She wondered what had happened. As far as she remembered, she was just asleep and then she felt very cold as she started to wake up.
She opened her eyes and saw so many people around her.
“Did I sleep for too long?” Gu Chaoyan asked.
She had no idea what happened during her sleep, but seeing how they reacted, Gu Chaoyan more or less understood that she had repeated what she did before and everyone else was worried about her.
“Just longer than usual.” Zhou Huaijin said gently, “It is fine.”
Gu Chaoyan still looked quite saddened and disappointed.
Despite his answer… she knew clearly what she was thinking inwardly. They would not have gotten so worried and wouldn’t be wearing this expression if that was just a long sleep.
After a moment of silence the sound of footsteps arose and then the door was pushed open.
It was Li Qing who came with the ginger soup.
He looked very anxious, but after he walked in, he realized that he might have gotten too anxious. So he greeted her and said shyly, “Sorry for disturbing you. Fu Bao told me that you have woken up, and I was too anxious to control myself.”
He was totally absent-minded when he walked in. He thought that as long as Lady Chaoyan woke up, she should drink the soup. He barely remembered the manners that he needed to follow.
He was truly worried.
Seeing the people in the room, he realized that he was being impulsive.
Gu Chaoyan looked at Li Qing, but did not blame him. Instead, she felt quite warm. She had learned about Li Qing’s personality when they met at Xinlin Clinic. If not for his personality, he would not have been used by those doctors.
However, he was kind-hearted anyway.
Because of this, Gu Chaoyan did not hesitate to keep him at Xinlin Gate. She would not blame him.
“Could you bring me the ginger soup?” Gu Chaoyan said.
Li Qing passed the heated ginger soup to Zhou Huaijin, retreated and went back to where Sword One was standing.
He stood a little distance from them.
He could not help looking at Lady Chaoyan.
He did not want to say it, but Lady Chaoyan’s face had turned red, yet something else was going on.
