Chapter 1398: Ultralisk Uprising, Incoming!
“Sir, the exact time of the Ultralisk Uprising cannot be determined, but it should begin in a few days.” After three days of investigating, Kaa’lna brought Jiang Fei some considerably vague news.
“Be more specific,” Jiang Fei demanded.
“As very few people can survive an Ultralisk Uprising, and most of those who survive have only experienced it once, they are not particularly clear about the specific time. They can only give an approximation.” Kaa’lna paused slightly, then continued: “But judging from how Bargh is acting, the Ultralisk Uprising should be imminent.”
“Bargh? What’s up with him?” Jiang Fei asked curiously.
“Bargh has been gathering his forces recently. For this reason, he even gave up complete control over planet Teardarth. After he got hold of his troops, he has been sending them out to inquire about the deployment of personnel on the other planets.” Kaa’lna explained.
“Hmm, he’s acting pretty weird. Continue to inquire about this and inform me if anything comes up!” Jiang Fei instructed.
“Yes, sir!” Kaa’lna immediately went to execute his order, leaving only Jiang Fei and Sarila in the room.
“Sir, I’ve completed the reorganization of our armed forces. After this incident, although our numbers have decreased by almost half, our combat effectiveness has increased. There has been a significant increase in the strength of our troops, especially after we started the unlimited supply of Ultralisk meat.” Sarila reported.
“Good. Continue to provide them with the meat and help them achieve their full potential. We’ll be leaving in a few days, so I need a sufficiently powerful army!” Jiang Fei said.
“We’re leaving? Where to?” Sarira was surprised.
“Hehe, I’ll tell you when the time comes!” Jiang Fei smiled slightly, warmth filling his eyes.
“Ah Fei...” Seeing the expression on his face, Sarila’s heart shriveled. Although she had expressed her feelings to Jiang Fei, Jiang Fei was unwilling to accept it. When she linked this to his expression at this time, her heart felt somewhat empty.
“Okay, carry on with your work. By the way, remember to pick out those who have potential. I’m going to try my best and train them!” Jiang Fei did not notice the change in Sarila’s face and mood.
“Mmm,” Sarila nodded, then walked out of Jiang Fei’s room unhappily.
“0541, any new findings recently?” When there were no outsiders in the room, Jiang Fei asked his Assistance System.
“Captain, everything seems to be normal for now,” 0541 replied.
“Okay, closely monitor the activity at the peripheries. If something comes up, report it to me immediately!” Jiang Fei ordered.
“Yes, captain! I have released hundreds of unmanned reconnaissance ships. If there’s any activity around the Ausvia System, we’ll definitely detect them in advance,” 0541 said.
“Good! By the way, about returning to Earth, how are the preparations coming along?” Jiang Fei asked.
“Captain, I have calculated the path back to Earth, we can leave at any time,” 0541 replied.
“Okay, we’ll return to Earth immediately after the Ultralisk Uprising ends.” Jiang Fei could not help but feel a little excited when he said this. After all, he had been away from his home and loved ones for so long. He especially missed his parents who were living far away on Earth and the girls who used to worry so much about him.
“Yes, captain.” 0541 nodded.
One week passed. Currently, the situation on the planets in the Ausvia System could be said to be at the two extremities. On one hand, planet Dhiras and Teardarth were extremely calm and peaceful because Jiang Fei and Bargh were there. They both seemed to be gathering strength, preparing to welcome the coming storm.
On the other hand, the other four planets were in total chaos. Three out of the four settlement leaders had died, and one decided to join Jiang Fei. So, the troops had lost their leaders.
Without a strong one to lead them when the Ultralisk Uprising was imminent, the minds of the Tallgeese Advanced Outpost soldiers were dominated by fear. They were nearing insanity. Riots broke out on the four planets almost every day.
Since these soldiers were all on the brink of death, the evilest side of human nature was undoubtedly revealed. They had all lost their conscience. They fought with each other and killed each other. All the ways to vent their inner emotions of anger, anxiety, frustration were exerted to the extreme. The four planets suddenly became purgatory.
“Captain! Something’s wrong!” When Jiang Fei was busy practicing his mental attack skills, 0541’s voice suddenly alarmed him.
“What’s up?” Jiang Fei’s mind instantly tightened.
“Half of the unmanned reconnaissance ships have been destroyed! This is the last message I received.” Then, a video was projected before Jiang Fei’s eyes.
“That’s a lot of them.” Jiang Fei was deeply shocked by the horrible sight. Thousands of Ultralisks were moving through space in groups, and they were headed towards the Ausvia System!
Boom! Following the sound of an explosion, the screen in front of Jiang Fei crashed to pieces. Obviously, the reconnaissance ship had been destroyed.
“This Ultralisk Uprising is even more terrifying than I thought!” Jiang Fei could not help but gasp. There were way too many of them, and every one of them was horrifyingly bloodthirsty. In order to ensure continuity of their species, they had to hunt wildly in the Ausvia System and turn all Living Energy into their food.
“Captain, with our current strength, it’s impossible to annihilate so many of them.” 0541 advised.
“I know, I’m not planning to be everyone’s savior!” Jiang Fei nodded. He had gotten out of his bottleneck situation, so there was no need to participate in another deadly battle. Jiang Fei was just planning to kill a few Ultralisks during the early stage of the Uprising. After all, although Ultralisks were scary, their meat was valuable. Jiang Fei could not only use them to improve the combat effectiveness of his men, but the girls back on Earth could also use the meat to gain sufficient power. This way, the girls would be able to survive in the cosmic environment full of strong people on their own, instead of relying on Jiang Fei to protect them.
“Captain, what’s the plan?” 0541 asked.
“Move the Hypercruiser to the other end of the System. This treasure of ours cannot be discovered by the Ultralisks!” Jiang Fei instructed. If this battleship was destroyed, Jiang Fei could only flee on his own with his One-Man Shuttle. Everyone else, including all his subordinates like Sarila and Kaa’Ina, would be left behind on this planet.
“Yes, captain!” 0541 immediately began to execute Jiang Fei’s order. The ship was moved to the other end of the Ausvia System.
0541 placed a barrier over the ship so that those outside the barrier could not see it. Moreover, he hid the ship within the asteroid belt. With such a set-up, it would be hard for even a specialized reconnaissance ship to discover the ship, let alone a group of Ultralisks with low intelligence.
