Chapter 1226: Prelude to War

Not long after Zhuge Qinlong accepted his sword, Lee Shi and Yang Rouxi arrived. After the two had retrieved their Godblades from Jiang Fei, Yang Rouxi excused herself from the gathering, saying that she had things to tend to in her sect.
The old hag was as blatant as a machine. When she realized that she had no chance in winning over Jiang Fei’s attention with the Yang twins, she had decided to stop trying to butter up to Jiang Fei and leave him be. She had come to terms with it when she realized that the girls around Jiang Fei were not only more attractive, but a lot more stronger than the twins. Most importantly, she had gathered from the others that Jiang Fei had displayed zero affection toward the sisters. As such, she came to the decision to stop chasing after Jiang Fei lest she faced the wrath of the other girls around him.
With that said, Yang Rouxi had no reason to stay and “work” for Jiang Fei anymore. Not when she herself had witnessed the strange powers of the Unknowns. She might be strong, and had always thought so, but she now knew that there were others stronger than her.
Yang Rouxi left but Lee Shi stayed behind. He did not have further ulterior motives behind this. He was there to help his friend, Zhang Shan, earn a weapon.
While Jiang Fei was having a boring conversation with Zhuge Qinlong, the rest of the Level 5 grand masters arrived. The last one to appear was a beautiful, young maiden dressed in heavenly silk. Before the meeting officially started, there were a total of twelve Level 5 grand masters gathered.
Of the previous gathering, Yang Rouxi and Feng Tianqi was absent. Feng Tianqi wanted to come but he was unable to as he was still recuperating from the previous fight. He was a newly-ascended Level 5 grand master and had the weakest power then. When he was imprisoned in the light prison by the Unknowns, he had spent too long a time activating his domain ability just to survive. As he had spent more energy than he had, the toll on him was too much, rendering himself weakened.
“Come, allow me to introduce everyone,” said Bai Shien as he started to walk around.
“Damn it! You little fat f*ck actually did it! Say Yuxuan, pardon my language, but what did this fat f*ck do to you? How could you have fallen into his hands?” Lee Shi barked at Bai Shien before he turned to Chu Yuxuan and spoke in a sympathetic manner. Even so, his voice was filled with so much envy that even Jiang Fei had to hide his cringe.
“Hoho. Didn’t you know that I’ve always been secretly in love with you? Sadly, you kept your feelings to yourself. I was depressed. That’s when he came into my life. I thought he was actually similar to you, and so, here we are!” said Chu Yuxuan as she paraded herself before she flirtatiously traced her fingers around Lee Shi’s chin. Alas, before Lee Shi could say or do anything, Chu Yuxuan turned around so quickly that her clothes slapped him in his face.
“Sigh... I should have never wooed her that vigorously...” said Lee Shi, saddened. Chu Yuxuan, was and still is, dubbed the most beautiful woman in all of the Wu Lin community. All, including Lee Shi, had a crush on her. Lee Shi was aware of his appearance and had decided that he was unworthy of the goddess. Now, when Chu Yuxuan had admitted she had feelings for him, he could not help but feel anguish. Although he could not help but doubt the truth of it, hearing her say it to his face had too much of an impact to his heart. The guilt he felt was quickly replaced with a mild sense of hostility toward Bai Shien. If he could win her heart for looking almost the same as him, he should have confessed to her a long time ago!
“Nice one,” said Bai Shien when he saw how dejected Lee Shi looked.
“Alright. Enough chit-chat. Let us address the elephant in the room,” a middle-aged muscular man came and stopped the bickering. Bai Shien had introduced him but Jiang Fei had completely forgotten his name.
“What is that supposed to mean?” Lee Shi snapped, misinterpreting his message.
“Alright, alright. Back to the main topic please. Lee Shi, you ought to read more,” said the muscular man as he pacified Lee Shi with a simple, yet strong pat to the back. The other grand masters quickly quietened down. They were all there for one thing, the Godblades.
“Mr. Jiang Fei, Bai Shien here mentioned about you giving out Godblades, the weaponized kind, as a reward for helping you in your endeavor. Could you clarify his claims? I’ve heard you could reforge Godblades into a more usable form,” said the muscular man. Since it was the first time he was meeting Jiang Fei, he was still unfamiliar with the concept of reforming Godblades.
“Gladly. Senior Bai, Master Taiost Zhuge, if you would, I’d like the two of you to reveal the Godblades that my master had reforged for you,” said Jiang Fei. What better time than now to advertise his product to the mass!
“Very well,” Bai Shien replied without hesitation. Zhuge Qinlong, being composed as he always was, nodded.
The moment the two unsheathed their weapons, the entire cave was immediately filled with the aura of Valium.
“It’s real! It’s the Godblade!”
Everyone was shocked and in awe. They had only heard about the tales of the mysterious Zhuge Shanzhen and his achievements but today was the day they got to witness his work.
“I am compelled to say that these Godblades are individually priceless. As such, I am unable to provide more than three weapons for the time being. I am aware that there are more mouths to feed, hence I allow everyone here to form partners to earn a place. To be frank, all I cared for was how much you could contribute. With that said, the top three contributors will be awarded with a Godblade each reforged to their liking,” Jiang Fei explained.
“Understandable,” said the muscular one.
“Well explained,” said the beautiful goddess.
Bai Shien had already explained Jiang Fei’s intentions and how he was going to reward them with only three Godblades. They would still be in for it even if the reward was one Godblade since they knew well that Jiang Fei could never afford to reward each of them with a Godblade.
“Ah. Brother Jiang Fei, could you please explain the plan of attack?” Bai Shien chimed in.
“Of course. We will head to the Pacific Ocean and attack their base there. The Godblades that we all covet are located in that facility!” Jiang Fei then proceeded to reveal about the Valium that he had detected in that base.
“Sounds good. When do we attack?” Bai Shien asked. Even though attacking someone else to get Valium just to forge a weapon for the grand masters was somewhat an act bordering on robbing, these grand masters did not care about it. All they signed up for was to help Jiang Fei and to earn themselves a personalized weapon.
“We will depart tomorrow,” said Jiang Fei.
Everyone agreed without any objection. After a little bit of further conversation, everyone left and Jiang Fei returned to his base. There, he explained his plan to the girls and about how he was about to reward the grand masters with the Valium-laced weapons. After that, Ariel was tasked to inform Straz about the time and location to gather before the attack.
When night came, Jiang Fei entered the game just to talk with Hua Mulan. There, he informed her about his plans to revive and bring her into the real world soon. As long as Jiang Fei retrieved the Bio-Laboratory and the main Bio-Pod, reviving her would be as simple as a push of a button.
Noon soon arrived and the skies had never been clearer. Figures of powerful people appeared one by one, each emitting powerful aura and strength. These twelve Level 5 grand masters gathered together and boarded a large flying shuttlecraft.
