MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith
Chapter 1496 - 1496: Myriad Prodigies: Final Round (7)Whoosh!
“…What…?” Just as she thought that the aura Valyr gave off was already overbearing, the young man’s aura underwent yet another change after activating [Soul Fusion], causing Leveina to feel as if she were suffocating in his presence.
Of course, she wasn’t the only one to feel immense pressure from Valyr’s aura. Almost all of those that were near the main platform immediately succumbed to the aura’s might the moment it was fully unleashed.
As for those that sat among the crowd, a considerable portion of them began to feel lightheaded in response to the aura Valyr gave off, prompting many to realize that the young man were giving them a glimpse at his full power.
Though having so many people faint all of a sudden would normally cause outrage amongst the masses, the crowd instead remained silent and watched Valyr with rapt attention, wanting to see for themselves what he was capable of if he were to go all out.
‘…Pretty sure this is the first time I used the skill in this identity.’
While almost everyone in the amphitheater were curious as to what the young man’s next move would be, the person in question instead sensed the changes brought about by [Soul Fusion] in detail, closing his eyes for a bit to get better acquainted with it.
‘Although the changes to my strength aren’t that drastic if my other self were to use it, the boost it gives is still substantial.’
‘If I were to quantize it… the boost to my stats is around the same level as [Descent of the True Wyvern]?’
Faintly nodding at the conclusion he’d arrived at, the young man soon opened his eyes once more, shifting his gaze towards his opponent.
“…You asked me earlier what I’d do, right?” With his domain nullifying the effects of Leveina’s fused domain, Valyr gradually moved closer to her as he asked this question.
In response, the woman remained silent for a bit, trying her best to remain calm amidst the immense pressure she continued to feel from the young man.
Feeling like she’d successfully gathered her bearings after some time, she soon looked back at Valyr and replied, “…I’m gonna be honest here. I wouldn’t be surprised if I go down from a single attack of yours right now.”
“But that doesn’t mean I won’t try to stop you from making that happen.”
“[Dominion of the Great Forest Witch].”
Whoosh!
Just as the woman responded to his question, Leveina went ahead and cast a skill that shrunk the area of the fused domain to around a third of what it was before.
However, rather than feel eased by the thought that the domain had gotten smaller, the young man’s expression turned even more solemn, sensing that the effects of the domain had amplified many times over in exchange.
‘…Can my domain handle this?’ Looking at the condensed domain for a bit more, Valyr decided to stop just a few steps away from it, only to then send a mental command for his domain to move closer.
Chi! Chi! Chi!
Though the resulting sounds from the clash of their domains had caused many to pale in discomfort, the young man continued to watch the two domains collide against one another in silence.
Eventually, he shook his head and distanced himself from the condensed domain even further, only to then dispel the domain surrounding him entirely.
Whoosh!
Watching Valyr’s actions from inside the condensed domain, a brief feeling of delight washed over Leveina once she saw the young man become wary of the domain surrounding her.
However, that delight immediately turned into confusion after the young man dispel his domain, which prompted her to ask him, “…Are you giving up?”
“Not really.” Valyr shook his head, taking out the Arcane Staff of Azure Primacy from his spatial bracelet as he circulated his energy throughout his body. “Just changing my approach in defeating you.”
“Approach…” Leveina muttered, sensing the danger emitting from the young man gradually rising as seconds passed.
Getting the gut feeling that the tides of battle would immediately shift towards Valyr’s favor thanks to whatever would come next, she went ahead and began to taunt the young man into entering her condensed domain.
“Do you dare fight me in my domain like a true fighter?”
From taunts that took a jab at Valyr’s pride and courage, to taunts that mocked some of Valyr’s aspects, the words that left Leveina’s mouth gradually turned boorish.
Yet, the target of her taunts remained unbothered by it all, continuing to circulate the energy around his body while the aura surrounding him underwent a subtle change.
“So that’s what it feels like to have a mana circuit skill,” murmured Valyr to himself with a slight smile, sensing the greater might now thrumming within his Prime Azure Energy.
Sensing some sort of desperation coming from his opponent, the young man decided to end their battle once and for all, raising his staff into the air before manifesting an attack many in the frontlines had come to recognize.
“…[Prime Azure Heavenfall].”
…
“…Did you really have to go that far?”
Scratching the back of his head as he looked back at his original identity, Ataraxia could not help but shake his head as the question left his mouth.
“Do you think I went too far?” asked Valyr in response, downing a cold glass of beer in one gulp before shifting his attention towards the magic screens. “I’m pretty sure I gave her the respect she deserved in that fight.”
“If I followed through with her taunts and entered her condensed domain, I’m certain she would’ve found a way to injure me even in that state.”
“…And you thought the best counter to it was a massive meteor?” answered Ataraxia in return, looking at his original identity with a dumbfounded expression.
“…Would you rather see me use [Azure Dragon’s Claw] instead?” asked Valyr back, his eyes still glued towards the magic screen. “At the very least, [Prime Azure Heavenfall] is a blunt attack.”
“…” For a while after that, Ataraxia continued to stare at his other self in silence, the thoughts in his mind swirling as he thought back to the conclusion of Valyr’s fight.
Though Valyr did conjure [Prime Azure Heavenfall] at its biggest size, the young man made sure to dispel it the moment Leveina admitted defeat, only seeing the skill as a reason to make her forfeit before the situation got worse.
Getting the feeling that his original identity did it to start making his next opponent doubt his style of combat, Ataraxia took in a deep breath before asking, “Say… do you think I should do something similar during my fight?”
“Why not?” At those words, Valyr readily replied, giving him a slightly mischievous smile.
“It’s always fun to mess around with people, after all.”
