MMORPG: RISE OF THE PRIMORDIAL GODSMITH
Chapter 1347 Nine Prodigies of Astella (4)‘…Who knew [Orb of Apyrhan] would actually come in handy at a time like this?’
Looking at his opponent, whose current appearance made him look like a two-legged piece of coal, Valyr gave the man a slightly apologetic smile as he thought about the progression of events that led to the current outcome.
‘Since targeting him or the dark entities with a fireball didn’t work, I decided to take it one step further by making use of [Orb of Apyrhan],’ thought Valyr to himself as the arbiter made sure that his opponent wasn’t badly injured by his attack.
‘After all, no better way to win a match than to use overwhelming power against my opponent, right?’
At those words, the smile on his face slightly widened, recalling how he activated [Partial Sky] to give his strongest spell a bit more oomph.
Yet, from how the man’s defense immediately crumpled against the sun-like fireball he threw at him, it seemed that he might have just given the attack a bit too much oomph there.
“…137 has admitted defeat. 1,139 moves onto the third round!”
By the time the young man was done looking back at the final attack he sent towards his opponent, the arbiter finally announced his victory, which was immediately met with a great number of cheers and applause from the part of the crowd closest to his stage.
Though, as he immersed himself in the feeling, Valyr noticed that there were now eyes lingering on him unlike the first round.
‘The crowd has finally started to take notice of me,’ said the young man to himself after that, giving Thomas and the others a brief wave before heading back to the area he was waiting in earlier.
Fortunately, the waiting area for those who passed the second round remained the same, allowing the young man to feel more ease as he replenished the energy he lost with a couple of elixirs from the trays.
Being the first batch of people to move onto the second round, it was no surprise that Valyr passed the time by watching the battles that were unfolding, keeping an eye on the ones that seemed to be on a similar level of strength as him.
“To think there’s still six more rounds to go…” murmured Valyr to himself as he took a bite from the slice of cake he grabbed from the trays.
In the end, the second round took an hour and a half to conclude, which prompted the announcer to give both the crowd and the participants a 10 minute break before continuing on with the third round.
“With the number of participants now a quarter of what it was at the start, the third round shall have us watch 30 battles happen at the same time per batch.” Once the 10 minute break was over, Clive’s enthusiastic voice echoed throughout the coliseum once more.

“With that, the stages that the participants will fight in have been expanded in size, which now gives them the option to use abilities and tactics that weren’t possible in their previous battles!”
“As the rounds progress, the increase in stage size will continue to happen in relation to the decrease in simultaneous battles, so we might just see some participants’ attacks evolve as more time passes!”
“Now then, I’m sure I must be boring you all out by now, so let us begin with the third round!”
Getting a massive wave of cheers from the crowd after that, Valyr faintly smiled in response as he focused all of his senses towards the numbers the announcer would mention for the first batch of the third round.
“…Whew.” Not hearing his number be mentioned by the announcer whatsoever even at the end of the list, the young man inwardly let out a sigh of relief as he focused his attention towards the fights that were closest to his spot.
At the same time, Valyr decided to busy himself by attempting to master the fourth minor cycle in his mana circuit, wanting to increase his odds at winning his battles at the later rounds as much as possible.
Unfortunately, he had to stop his attempts by the time the third batch of battles were called as one of his numbers included in the list was his.
“For the 17th battle of the third round, 38 and 1,139. Please proceed to Stage 4.”
“…Hup.” Grabbing a stick of dried meat from the trays before leaving the waiting area, Valyr devoured the whole thing in a couple of bites as he made his way to the stage.
Seeing as he was the first between him and his opponent to arrive, Valyr took the opportunity to get a better idea of the size difference between the two stages, coming to the conclusion that the area had more or less increased by half.
Faintly nodding at this discovery, the young man noticed his opponent finally appear on the side of the stage, a woman whose face was covered in battle scars.
“Ataraxia,” said the young man, having made it a habit now that he’d done it in his first two battles. “And you are…?”
“No need to exchange names.” However, rather than reciprocate his actions, the woman instead scoffed at him as she unsheathed the scimitar around her waist. “It’s not like your name is important to be remembered anyway.”
Slightly frowning in response to her words, Valyr’s frown deepened as he saw the woman mockingly smile at him in reaction to his frown.
Feeling a slight urge to put her in her place after that, the young man suppress the slight annoyance and anger he felt in the meantime, deciding to let it all out in one go once the battle officially began.
“Ready?” Giving both Valyr and his opponent all the time they needed to get their basic buffs ready, the arbiter glanced at them for a bit before asking the question.
Getting a nod from the two in response, the arbiter moved away from the stage before letting the two do their thing.
“Fight!”
Whoosh!
“Time for you to admit defeat!” Charging towards Valyr without hesitation, the woman wildly brandished his scimitar as a faint blue aura coated the blade.
In response, Valyr conjured a few shields to block the woman’s attacks as he activated the skill he’d been saving for quite some time.
“[Arcane Authority: First Sky].”
Swoosh!
Feeling the mana in his body contain more power while also being more controllable than before, the young man felt a slight smile creep up on his face as he conjured a barrier around his opponent, stopping her in her tracks.
Unsurprisingly, the woman began to throw out a bombardment of profanities and curses at him, ranging from childlike insults to insults one would only get from expert keyboard warriors.
Nevertheless, Valyr ignored all of that as the barrier around her meant that he could finally move onto the next step of putting her in her place which involved…
“[Orb of Apyrhan].”
Not one…
“[Orb of Apyrhan].”
Not two…
“…”
“…”
“…[Orb of Apyrhan].”
But five blazing suns.
