MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1236: The Truth Behind Greater Beyond (3)

"…"

For a while after that, Valyr was at a loss for words on what he should say in response to her brief yet concise answer. After all, even though he felt that his outlandish thought grew more and more correct over time, it was still different from hearing that it was correct directly from the young woman.

With that, it took a while for Valyr to regain his bearings once more, letting out a low sigh the moment he felt he was ready to continue their conversation. "When I said everything… are you seriously saying… everything?"

"Everything." The young woman nodded in agreement.

"Like just memories or…?"

"Everything. Both your memories were fused into one, both your consciousnesses were fused into one…"

"And both your bodies were fused into one."

"Our bodies?" At those words, Valyr began to look at the young woman in confusion yet again. "Didn't you tell me earlier that only the consciousnesses from Earth would be transferred to this universe?"

"That I did," replied the young woman with a slight nod.

"You also told me that the only reason why these consciousnesses could interact with the world of Greater Beyond is because you have these consciousnesses temporarily possess an empty vessel. You mentioned it was a part of the login process."

"I also said that, yes. It also gives the character creator more reason to exist. Pretty proud of it, actually."

"If that's the case, then what do you mean by fusing our bodies together?" asked Valyr once more, which finally flicked a switch within the young woman's mind. "I get the fusion of memories. I also get the fusion of consciousnesses."

"But how did you fuse our bodies together if my past self's body is in another universe?"

"…I'll be the one answering that question."

Just as Valyr was expecting the young woman to answer his questions yet again, a person soon made himself known to the two as he appeared beside the young woman all of a sudden.

Similar to the young woman, the man also wore a long white robe that allowed Valyr to quickly realize that his origins were pretty much similar to the young woman.

However, unlike the young woman, he gave off a slightly detached aura that made him seem difficult to approach.

Adding on his handsome appearance, as well as the fact that both his hair and irises were a light shade of gold, that aura instead made him seem like an angel of sorts that was detached from the world itself.

"Have you introduced yourself to him yet?" With Valyr's attention now focused on him, the man surprisingly asked a question to the young woman beside him first, causing the latter's eyes to slightly widen in confusion as she recalled how he entered into their conversation.

"Not yet." In the end, the young woman decided not to quibble with him over it, merely shaking her head in response. "I should, shouldn't I?"

"Well, considering that it's highly likely we'll be seeing him more often later on, I suppose it's the right thing to do, no?" replied the man, which only made Valyr both curious and confused as to what he meant by that.

Unfortunately, the man had no plans to satiate the curiosity he felt at that moment. Instead, he decided to follow through on his first idea… which only made Valyr even more confused and curious once they were done.

"Let me introduce myself first," said the yellow-haired man with a brief exhale. "I go by the name Adam. No last name. I'm also known as the Third Administrator, which is also why I go by the nickname Three sometimes."

"Eve," said the young woman with a smile the moment Adam was finished. "My name is Eve."

"Just like Adam, I have no last name. Also, I go by the nickname Five, which has something to do with me being the Fifth Administrator."

"Wait… huh?" By the time the two of them were finished introducing themselves, Valyr looked at the two with his mouth agape, completely left at a loss for words as the gears in his mind spun on overdrive in response. ŗάℕо₿ƐS

"Administrators?"

"Adam? Eve?"

"Huh?"

"…" Fortunately, it only took a couple of minutes for the young man to regain his earlier composure, taking in a few deep breaths as the introductions the two gave him still lingered within his mind.

Because he was able to calm down, Valyr was able to piece a couple of questions that struck the heart of the matter, asking them to the two without hesitation.

"By Administrators, that means… you have the greatest control over the Apparatus, right? How do you two compare to the Arbiters?"

"Considering what you've gone through, I'm not that surprised that you called the system the Apparatus," replied Adam to the question with a slight nod of approval. "But yes. Us Administrators would be the ones with the highest control over the Apparatus."

"As for the Arbiters, they're at the lowest rung of the hierarchy," continued the man. "Of course, there are differences between the Arbiters depending on how much Authority they have, but that doesn't change the fact that they're still at the lowest rung."

"Are there only Arbiters and Administrators, then?" asked Valyr in response to the question, to which Eve immediately shook her head.

"There's the Supervisors in between the two," said the young woman. "They usually deal with problems involving the Apparatus that are beyond what an Arbiter can do. Us Administrators only deal with major problems involving the Apparatus."

"So, Arbiters, Supervisors, then Administrators?" asked the young man in response, to which both Adam and Eve nodded in agreement.

"Wait a second…" Nodding back in response to the nods they gave him, Valyr was about to ask the other question he had in mind, only for another question related to the Administrators to surface instead.

"Now that I think about it, isn't this kind of information classified? Is it really fine for me to know about this stuff?"

"It's fine," Eve reassured him, with Adam nodding in agreement. "Though it may seem like something massive, Arbiters are well-known amongst Myths, while Supervisors and Administrators are well-known amongst Divines and Primordials."

"With how much you know about Greater Beyond if we take what you went through into consideration, this much information is nothing in comparison."

"I see," said Valyr in response, even though he still felt like it was weird for someone at his level of strength to be privy to such information.

In fact, he was getting the feeling that there was a reason the two of them knew that made them open up to him. Unfortunately, with them being Administrators, he knew there was no way he'd find that out anytime soon.

With that, he moved onto the other question he had in mind. Specifically, the question he had involving their names.

"So… Adam and Eve, right?" asked the young man to the two. "Does that perhaps have anything to do with the Adam and Eve I know?"

"What do you mean by that?" responded Adam, only to turn silent not long after as he pondered over Valyr's words for a bit. "Wait… are you talking about the divine creation myth?"

"With you two being the first humans ever created? Yeah, that one," replied Valyr with a nod.

"Well, I don't have any idea on how the myth goes in your universe," said Adam with a shrug after some time. "But what I can say is that Eve and I are indeed part of the first few humans to be created in this universe."

"It's mostly the reason why we're Administrators," added Eve at the end, prompting Valyr to nod in understanding.

With his curiosity regarding their identities pretty much satiated, Valyr shifted the topic of their conversation back to what it originally was. "So, the fusion of the bodies?"

"Ah, right." Adam nodded as he slapped his forehead before giving the young man a slight apologetic smile in response. "You wanted to know how we fused the two of you together, right?"

"Yeah." Valyr nodded, feeling as if their conversation had been going in circles at this point. "I asked earlier how it was possible for our bodies to be fused together, considering that the body of my past self is in another universe."

"Simple." Adam looked at the young man with a slight grin. "We just transferred your past self's body into this universe before fusing it with you."

"You can do that?" asked Valyr with slightly widened eyes.

"It's easier than you'd think," replied Adam with a nod. "After all, with your past self logged into the game, we already have an anchor point linking us to him ready on the other universe."

"All we need to do is just use the same magic to transport his body here, cover him up in energy to make sure he doesn't get rejected by the universe, and with a bit more magic here and there, hey presto, the two of you are fused in every way possible."

"Two questions," said Valyr after mulling over Adam's words for a bit. "First, doesn't that sound more complicated than just transferring the consciousnesses into this universe?"

"And second, why did you two even decide to fuse our bodies together?"

"To answer your first question, the process does sound more complicated than the process we use for Greater Beyond." Adam nodded in agreement. "However, in terms of difficulty, transporting a body here is simpler than transporting one's consciousnesses."

"After all, what's more fragile? A body? Or what's basically an unprotected soul?"

"…Alright. How about the second question?"

"Well, the answer to that's pretty straightforward." The man let out a slight chuckle before snapping his fingers.

"…In fact, how about we show you why instead?"
