Chapter 4605: Cut Off
“Yeah!!”
The twins responded quickly as Silver Wolf lay down, allowing them to climb onto his back. Once they were settled, he said, “Stay low, hold onto my fur, and don’t fall off.”
“Mm hmm!” The twins, their small hands gripping his thick fur, leaned forward, their faces pressed against his warm coat. Almost immediately, he leapt up and ran towards the dense, shadowed back mountain.
“Go!” Hao’er grabbed Seventeen, mounted his sword, and headed for the back mountain.
Usually, few people were in their area, and now most disciples were at the front gate, aiding their escape.
However, the Elder and others arrived quickly. Seeing the empty courtyard, their faces changed. “Oh no! They must have found out and escaped! Quickly, we’ve got to chase them!” If they didn’t present them to the Old Mountain Demon, their sect would suffer!
The venerable masters hesitated. “Elder, they’re Ghost Doctor Feng Jiu’s children. If something happens, and she finds out, she’ll come after us.”
Seeing them stop, the Grand Elder reprimanded them. “Don’t you think I know that? But if we don’t hand them over, our sect is finished! Can anyone withstand the Mountain Demon? No! Even the Sect Master is injured. Do we want to sacrifice everyone for those children?”
The venerable masters were silent, heads tucked low.
“What are you waiting for? Go after them!” He swept his sleeve and dashed off, not after Hao’er, but to activate the formation and trap them. Otherwise, they couldn’t explain to the Old Mountain Demon.
Hao’er and the others, heading for the mountains, encountered disciples, but Silver Wolf’s pressure forced them away. They followed the winding path downwards, the sounds of pursuit growing louder, echoing through the trees.
“Stop running! You cannot escape! Return with us!”
Hao’er and Seventeen didn’t turn, just sped up. Silver Wolf did the same, but as they reached the foot of the mountain, he abruptly stopped, his keen eyes detecting the line of guards stationed there.
Suddenly, Seventeen cried out. Silver Wolf and the twins looked back, seeing a hemispherical barrier isolating the mountain. Hao’er, on his sword, crashed into it, sending him and Seventeen tumbling to the ground.
“Big Brother!”
“Big Brother!”
The twins cried out, pulling on Silver Wolf’s fur. “Hurry! We have to go back! Big Brother can’t get out!”
Silver Wolf, seeing the scene, grew colder. He glared at the guards before running to the barrier, extending his paw.
