Chapter 6216: Flaunting

Chapter 6216: Flaunting

Zhan Mudan led her people over. As she approached, she cast her eyes on Chu Feng and the others before finally turning to Zhan Moli.

“Why did you bring them here? Is this a place they can visit? You must be out of your mind, Zhan Moli!” Zhan Mudan roared in anger.

“I’ll bear all responsibility.” Zhan Moli took out that token again.

Zhan Mudan’s face darkened at the sight of the token. “This matter concerns our clan’s safety. How can you take responsibility for that?”

“You don’t have to worry about that, big sister. With this token, I can take responsibility even if something goes wrong,” Zhan Moli replied.

“Zhan Moli, you’re siding with outsiders over me, your big sister? Did water get into your brain?!”

Zhan Mudan was so angry that her face turned red, but she was unable to do anything about Zhan Moli. So, she turned her glare to Elder Li and berated, “Elder Li, our clan has provided you with the best resources and the blueprint. Aren’t you a True Dragon World Spiritist? Why can’t you accomplish something that simple?”

“Miss Mudan, I am only a rank one True Dragon World Spiritist. My skills are limited. This formation is beyond my means. I have already said that I can’t do it from the start, but Lord Clan Chief promised not to blame me whether I succeeded or not, so long as I give it a try.

“I am also ashamed to have squandered so many precious resources. Miss Mudan, I will stop here if you find my work lacking. Please seek someone else’s help,” Elder Li said before rising into the air to leave.

But oppressive might fell from the sky and enveloped Elder Li, holding him in place.

It was the doing of one of the two old men behind Zhan Mudan.

“Don’t be disrespectful,” Zhan Moli hurriedly intervened.

“Shut up, Zhan Moli,” Zhan Mudan roared.

Before Zhan Moli could reply, Elder Li remarked with a sigh, “I am just a small fry. I only happened to stumble into here. If not for your Ancient Era’s War Clan not having any world spiritist and being unable to head elsewhere to find someone more competent, I would have never been qualified to interfere in something as important as this, and none of you would have addressed me as elder either.

“I understand that you have no choice but to do this, but my strength is limited. I am but a mere ant before the Ancient Era’s War Clan. My life is in your hands. Go ahead and kill me since I am no longer of use to you.”

Elder Li closed his eyes, looking like he was ready to accept death.

But Chu Feng could tell from the trembling hands in his sleeves that he was afraid of death, just that he was putting on an act.

Zhan Mudan’s anger deepened, but she didn’t make a move. Instead, she took a deep breath and gestured for the two elders to retract their oppressive might before descending to Elder Li’s side.

“I apologize for my insolence, Elder Li, but our clan is in a critical position. We urgently require you to construct it. I was too worried that I went overboard earlier, and I ask for your forgiveness for that. Please help our clan. We’ll handsomely reward you if you succeed.”

Elder Li was delighted by Zhan Mudan’s change in attitude. He didn’t want to die either, so he didn’t hesitate to defuse the situation when the opportunity arose.

“I’ll give it another try,” Elder Li said before he continued making preparations.

“You know what Elder Li is doing. Are you sure you want them to watch?” Zhan Mudan glanced at Zhan Moli.

Zhan Moli turned to Chu Feng and the others, “Miss Yu’er, young master Shaoyu, and young master Chu Feng, I apologize for holding up your time. Let’s head elsewhere since the matter here has been resolved.”

But Chu Feng asked, “May I take a look?”

“Is young master Chu Feng interested in formations?” Zhan Moli asked.

“My Brother Chu Feng is currently the most talented world spiritist in the world of cultivation!” Xianhai Shaoyu said.

“Most talented world spiritist? What a joke!” Zhan Mudan sneered in disbelief.

“You might not have heard of my Brother Chu Feng because you aren’t up to date with current news, but surely you must have heard of Jie Ranqing? My Brother Chu Feng is Jie Ranqing’s son,” Xianhai Shaoyu said.

“My apologies, but I have never heard of Jie Ranqing either,” Zhan Mudan coldly replied.

“Wow. You truly are… ignorant.” Xianhai Shaoyu was rendered speechless.

He could tell from Zhan Mudan’s expression that she was telling the truth. The Ancient Era’s War Clan must have been trapped here for a long time now.

Chu Feng turned to Zhan Moli and said, “Miss Moli, I don’t know what problems the Ancient Era’s War Clan is facing, but I can tell from your earlier conversation that this item you are trying to forge is of vital importance to your clan. I might be able to help you.”

Before Zhan Moli or Zhan Mudan could reply, Elder Li sneered, “Young man, you are still a junior, right? I know youngsters like you brag a lot, but this matter is of grave importance. It’s beyond the means of someone who has barely grasped the basics. I won’t stop you from observing, but you should drop the idea of getting involved. We don’t have much materials left here to squander.”

Those words irked Little Fishy.

“Old man, why are you acting so arrogant? I was sympathizing with you earlier, but I see you deserve it now. You have quite the ego despite your incompetence. Do you think that all world spiritists in the world are as useless as you? Open your eyes wide and take a good look—he is Chu Feng, a world spiritist whom you can never match up to!”

She didn’t hold back on her words.

But her words merely deepened Elder Li’s derision. He shook his head and lamented, “Youngsters nowadays are getting increasingly arrogant, but there should be a limit to bragging.”

That further fanned Little Fishy’s anger. She wanted to march up to Elder Li to thrash things out, but Chu Feng held her back.

Chu Feng unleashed his spirit power, causing his clothes to flutter.

Everyone, except for Little Fishy and Xianhai Shaoyu, was taken aback. Even Zhan Mudan was flabbergasted, and her mouth opened the widest of all.

“Y-you are a rank one True Dragon World Spiritist? You aren’t a junior?” Elder Li asked grimly.

“Young master Chu Feng is a rank one True Dragon World Spiritist too?” Zhan Moli reassessed Chu Feng in astonishment.

“Miss Moli, may I have a look at the blueprint?” Chu Feng asked.

“All right.” Zhan Molin nodded. She took out a scroll and passed it to Chu Feng.

Chu Feng unfurled the scroll and took a look at the blueprint before turning to the world spiritists making preparations in the clearing.

“Everyone, please stop what you’re doing and leave the rest to me,” Chu Feng said.

“This…”

The world spiritists turned to Elder Li.

“Listen to him,” Zhan Moli said.

All the world spiritists stopped what they were doing. Given Zhan Moli’s standing, her words held far greater weight than Elder Li’s.

Chu Feng waved his sleeves, and the natural oddities scattered around swiftly fell back into position. Then, he began the forging process.

“Miss Moli, Miss Mudan, do you intend to leave it to him? You must know how complicated the blueprint is. I struggle with it despite having studied it for months. He is a rank one True Dragon World Spiritist too, yet he seeks to forge the item with just a mere glance at the blueprint. That is a recipe for failure; we are just wasting resources in vain!” Elder Li exclaimed.

All of a sudden, a brilliant light shone.

Chu Feng had completed his formation construction.

The formation contracted, and the light receded. A faintly glowing copper sphere, spanning the size of a watermelon, emerged from the formation.

The crowd fell silent.

Elder Li’s expression stiffened up. The copper sphere was the item he had failed to construct over the past few months.
