230 Are You Regretting it Now?

The door was tightly closed.

Zhang Li Xue continued to stare at the door anxiously as she waited for Bai Qi to come out. She wanted to know what her Uncle Qi Zheng and Bai Qi were discussing about. However, she was not allowed to stay and listen.

Although she was very worried, Zhang Li Xue could only put her trust in Bai Qi.

After a moment that felt like forever, the door was pushed open and Bai Qi walked out.

Zhang Li Xue stared at his face, hoping to get a clue from his expression.

A breath of relief escaped her when she saw the smile on his face.

Soon, Qi Zheng stepped out of the room as well. He watched the couple for a while and sighed. “Alright, Li Xue, don’t look at me like that. I did not bully him.”

Zhang Li Xue laughed. “Uncle Qi Zheng, thank you.”

Qi Zheng pursed his lips into a thin line. “But, just what is it that you liked about Bai Qi?” He thought of the basketball match they played in his backyard a few months ago. “Could it be that it’s because he’s good at basketball?”

.....

Qi Zheng had watched her practicing basketball from a young age and had gone crazy about that sport. Her enthusiasm was almost the same as her father’s.

They both liked forcing people to practice.

Zhang Li Xue glanced at Bai Qi shyly. “It was one of the reasons.”

Qi Zheng chuckled at her answer. Seeing the young couple smiling at each other sweetly made him shiver. He waved his hand and spoke, “Alright, you both can go now.” He looked at Zhang Li Xue and spoke, “I will keep this secret for you. However, Li Xue, you have to find time and talk to your father soon. Don’t keep him in the dark for too long. If he figured out that I know about this and did not tell him anything, he would only make things difficult for me.”

“Uncle Qi Zheng, I understand.”

After saying a few more words, Qi Zheng turned around and left.

Zhang Li Xue followed Bai Qi and returned to his office.

The moment the door was closed behind her, Zhang Li Xue gave Bai Qi a look over. “What did my Uncle Qi Zheng say to you?”

“What else? Of course, he was warning me to treat you nicely.”

“Just that?” Zhang Li Xue obviously did not believe his words.

“There are other things.” Bai Qi leaned over to kiss her on the tip of her nose. “But you don’t need to worry about it.”

Zhang Li Xue was about to speak when Bai Qi leaned over to peck at her lips a few times. Her cheek puffed, knowing that this man was using this trick to prevent her from speaking.

“Li Xue.” Bai Qi played with a few strands of her hair. “Why do I feel as if I will have to go through a few more interrogations if I want to stay with you?”

Zhang Li Xue laughed. She had to admit that she had a few protective men around her. Qi Zheng was just one of them. Zhang Li Xue raised her brow and asked, “What is it? Are you regretting it now?”

“Of course, not.” Bai Qi chuckled. “I think I need to prepare myself for the future. But... Your father, is he that scary?”

Bai Qi only had the memory of Zhang Li Xue’s father from years ago. He could understand that her father has been furious because he was bullying the daughter. However, it seemed that even Doctor Qi was a little afraid of him.

“He’s not bad. He’s a sensible person if you talk to him,” Zhang Li Xue said. Her tone was a little unconvincing. She batted her eyes at Bai Qi. “Doctor Bai, I think that if it’s you, you can definitely face my father.”

“You believe in me that much?”

Zhang Li Xue nodded. “I do.”

Seeing the glint in her eyes made his heart skip a beat.

For this little fairy, he would be willing to face anything.

...

After leaving the hospital, Qi Zheng did not head back home. Instead, he drive his car until he arrived at Wei’s residence.

The auntie quickly invited him in once she recognized him. Qi Zheng was led to the living room where he waited for his friend to show up.

Qi Zheng was eating the snacks that the auntie had prepared for him when Wei Jun Hao walked into the living room.

Wei Jun Hao raised a brow as he gave his friend a lookover. “This is rare. What is Doctor Qi doing here at my house during the weekend? Don’t tell me that you need my legal advice? I have to tell you that my rates during the weekend aren’t that cheap.”

Qi Zheng swallowed the food in his mouth before looking at his friend with a serious look on his face. “I have something important to discuss with you.”

Wei Jun Hao decided to stop playing around upon seeing the serious look on Qi Zheng’s face. “What is it?”

“This is about Li Xue,” Qi Zheng spoke in a low tone.

Hearing that it was about his niece made Wei Jun Hao frown.

A lot of thoughts came to his mind all at once. Wei Jun Hao was worried that Zhang Li Xue was sick.

“She’s dating someone.”

Wei Jun Hao halted. His mind went blank for a few seconds. “Li Xue?” Wei Jun Hao watched as Qi Zheng nodded. “Dating?” His expression turned uglier. “Who is it?”

Qi Zheng heaved a sigh. “It’s my student. Bai Qi.”

“Bai Qi?” Wei Jun Hao could not help but thought that this name sounded a little familiar. Then, he recalled that his wife had invited this boy to come to their house a few months ago.

Later, he found out that the boy was also Zhang Li Xue’s kindergarten friend.

His wife had also made him investigate what had happened to Bai Qi’s family in S Country.

“The two of them are dating?” Wei Jun Hao thought of his wife. He had a feeling that his wife would be delighted to hear this news.

After all, Zhang Yu Ying has been watching the two of them from afar since they were a little kid. Back then, she had kept Zhang Li Xue’s friendship with Bai Qi a secret from her brother.

It seemed that he will have to tell this matter to his wife.
