Chapter 697: Growing Half-Dimension

Chapter 697: Growing Half-Dimension

Camelback Mountain had peaks that pierced the clouds; it was the tallest mountain in the area. It was characterized by its two hump-like peaks. The area above the halfway point of the mountain was perpetually covered in snow, and humans rarely set foot there. From far away, the mountain looked as though it was a snow-white camel crawling on the ground.

There were many resources on the Camelback Mountain. The snow that melted and flowed down from the peak of the mountain gathered to form the massive Nicola River, nourishing the land and blessing the area with many physical resources. There were countless towns and cities along the coast of the river, even some cities that could harbor a population of over a million people. These cities had massive populations and a prosperous economy, attracting countless wanderers.

Camel Peak Castle was situated at the foot of the Camelback Mountain, where many people came and went.

It was rumored that a long time ago, when the area around the Camelback Mountain Range was still barren, there had been a wanderers’ base by the name of Camel Peak Manor at the foot of the mountain. No one knew when the base had been set up, nor did anyone know the true identity of the master behind the base.

After millions of years, the original simple wanderers’ base had developed to become a giant castle. It occupied a massive area, and many people were permanently situated there. There were also countless material resources of various kinds. In fact, mysterious Dimensional Merchants also appeared frequently. A large number of wanderers headed over to replenish their supplies every day.

“It is rumored that the master of the Camel Peak Castle is an unparalleled fighter who has come here to train and that he has already reached the level of Dimensional Wanderer a million years ago!” Seeing the magnificent Camel Peak Castle gradually approaching them, the Corpse Wizard King could not help but let out a cry of awe, despite his vast experience.

There were countless Divine Branches in the Chaos Dimension, with even more unparalleled fighters with powerful abilities. Being able to set up a Wandering Castle and ensure its survival for millions of years in a place with this many powerful fighters had to mean that the master was not just an average fighter!

Word of the notoriety of the master of the Camel Peak Castle spread past the area around the mountain range and throughout the entire Chaos Dimension. Along the way, the Corpse Wizard King had found out about the general situation of the area.

“Let’s go, let’s head in and see how different the so-called Wandering Castle is!” Seeing the endless stream of people and the awe-inspiring guards on the castle walls, Yang Ling landed on the ground together with the rest of the group. He waved his hands to recall the Twin-legged Flying Dragons, then walked quickly toward the castle to avoid attracting any attention.

The Camel Peak Castle was majestic and massive, its gates wide enough to accommodate a row of a dozen people. People were making their way in and out of the castle. Even though the soldiers stationed at the castle gates were fully armored, they did not spend too much time checking the people entering and exiting the castle. It did not take long before the group successfully entered the castle. They headed straight for the hall where the exchanges between wanderers were happening.

Along the way, they encountered Berserkers who were over two meters tall, Beastmen with tattoos of wolf heads, wanderers wearing black hats... There were countless people of vastly different backgrounds; however, not one of them dared to step out of line within the castle.

Just like the Astonvela Manor in the Graveyard of Deities and Demons, the Camel Peak Castle did not reject anyone, with no restrictions imposed on people entering and exiting the castle. However, fighting and killing were forbidden in the castle. Even the wanderers with powerful abilities did not dare to step out of line when they came there. No one dared to challenge the authority of the master of the Camel Peak Castle.

“Treasured Dragon-slaying Blade, three hundred Black Crystals each! Numbers are limited; there won’t be any left if you don’t get one now!”

“Cloak of Dark Night, enhance your speed by up to ten times, immunity to all magic attacks, only eight hundred Black Crystals!”

...

There were three levels at the Wanderer Exchange Hall. The first level was packed full of vendors and ordinary wanderers, with the sounds of bartering filling the air. Some of them were selling so-called Dragon-slaying Blades that could destroy anything it hit, some were selling Fish-scale Shields that they claimed provided immunity against physical attacks... The items looked decent on the surface, and their prices also seemed fairly reasonable, but no one really knew just how effective they were.

The Camel Peak Castle only provided a place for the exchanges to happen and took a certain cut of the money as tax. Whether or not the items were real and effective was not under the jurisdiction of the castle!

“Lord, do you want to get two Heavenly Cocoon Armors? They are soft and light, but even harder than the shell of a million-year-old turtle. They can defend against the full force of a Divine-level Expert. All you need is eight hundred Black Crystals!” Seeing Yang Ling enter the area with a large group of people, looking like a disciple of a noble family out to travel and train, a shifty-looking man with a glint in his eyes smiled as he spoke and approached Yang Ling with a few black vests in his hands.

“Oh, harder than the shell of a million-year-old turtle?” Looking at the glib triangle-face, then looking at the old Dragon Turtle Kaleisa by his side, Yang Ling smiled.

“They’re definitely harder than the shell of a million-year-old turtle. We, the Roxanne family, have been specializing in creating these Heavenly Cocoon Armors for millions of years. See, I can’t leave behind any marks on the vests even by stabbing it with this sharp dagger!” Triangle-face patted his chest and guaranteed the quality of the Heavenly Cocoon Armor. Seeing that Yang Ling was smiling but not yet speaking, he took out a gleaming dagger from within his robes and stabbed it on the soft armor a few times.

“Hehehe, you won’t be able to detect any flaws if you stab it like that; let me give it a try!” Seeing that Triangle-face was clearly putting on an act, the Corpse Wizard King cackled loudly. “If your so-called Heavenly Cocoon Armor is as powerful as you make it out to be, I’ll buy your entire stock. However, don’t blame me for destroying your armor!”

The dagger in Triangle-face’s hand was gleaming with cold light and incredibly sharp. It was a decent dagger. However, as an experienced, sleazy trickster, the Corpse Wizard King quickly saw the scheme behind his act. Triangle-face seemed to be putting in all of his strength when he was stabbing at the armor, but in actuality, he was not using that much force at all!

Triangle-face might have success fooling disciples of noble families who had just come out to train and did not have much life experience with this move, but to Yang Ling and his group, he was basically acting like a clown!

“This...” The guilty Triangle-face was a little hesitant. He had not had the chance to think about it when the black vests and dagger were unexpectedly snatched from his hands by the Corpse Wizard King.

“Hehehe, not bad, this dagger is not bad. Even if you can’t kill anyone with this, you can at least let someone pick their teeth with it!” The Corpse Wizard King cackled loudly as he looked at Triangle-face, who was covered in a cold sweat in his nervousness. He then turned to look at the old Dragon Turtle Kaleisa, who was at a loss for words, his smile getting more and more radiant.

“That’s enough, Rodriguez, let’s go, let’s head upstairs to have a look!” Seeing that the hall was louder and messier than a busy market, Yang Ling shook his head and led the group straight to the second floor, where two beautiful women were welcoming the guests.

There was a notice board on the first floor which stated the general situation in the Wanderer Exchange Hall. The first floor was a sector for ordinary goods; the second floor was for premium goods, which required an entrance fee of five hundred Black Crystals per person; and the third floor was a sector for VIPs, and required a fee of a thousand Black Crystals.

“Hehe, young brother, look closely before trying to make it big next time; otherwise, you won’t even be able to recoup your capital!” The Corpse Wizard King laughed, pinching the sharp dagger before leaving quickly to catch up with Yang Ling and the rest of the group.

“I sure am unlucky today, to encounter such a bunch of poor fools!” Seeing that Yang Ling and the rest of his group had quickly disappeared out of sight, Triangle-face cursed in dissatisfaction. Then, he trembled just as he was about to put away his dagger. Suddenly he saw that there was a clear imprint of a finger on the body of the gleaming dagger!

A powerful fighter, a powerful fighter with abilities at least at the level of a High-level Deity, who was hiding his aura!

Thinking about the meaningful smile the Corpse Wizard King had given him before he left, Triangle-face’s expression changed drastically. He understood that he had accidentally encountered an extremely powerful fighter who was hiding his aura. He nervously wiped the cold sweat off his forehead after he recovered from his shock!

Compared to the messy first level, the second level, a sector for premium goods, was much more peaceful. The entrance fee of five hundred Black Crystals had stopped many people in their tracks. The items sold here, both weapons and armor, were of a higher quality than those on the first floor. Unfortunately, Yang Ling did not spot anything exceptional even after making his way around the level.

With the help of the Black Crystal Marrows, Master Aaron and the Gnome Elder had also successfully assimilated the divinities they consumed and made it to the divine level, which made it much easier for them to cultivate the Equipment Refining Wizard Mantra. After a few hundred years of harsh training and cultivation, their methods of refining weapons had become much better than they were in the past. This was especially so for Master Aaron, who was hailed as the Genius Alchemist. His techniques had reached a masterful state. With the two weapon-refining experts assisting him, Yang Ling no longer needed to pay attention to any ordinary equipment.

“Brother Hayes, I heard that a mysterious Dimensional Merchant has come to the third level and has brought along a growing Half-Dimension with him. Come on, let’s go; we can go have a look even if we can’t afford it!” A black-robed man walked excitedly toward his partner and whispered. He was not much louder than the buzz of a mosquito, and while he could avoid being heard by an average person, he could not escape Yang Ling’s massive Divine Knowledge.

“What, a growing Half-Dimension?” The black-robed man by the name of Hayes was shocked. He followed his partner along without any hesitation. They were incredibly fast, waving their hands and passing two thousand Black Crystals to the guards before disappearing in the blink of an eye.

Half-Dimension?

He had seen many physical dimensions, but just what was the so-called still-growing Half-Dimension?

Yang Ling knit his brows in confusion. He deliberated for a moment before letting the cloak in his hands go, leading the group straight to the VIP area on the third floor. An average person would have to toil for many years to accumulate a thousand Black Crystals, but Yang Ling, who owned the entire Giant Dragon Valley, had no problem paying a thousand Black Crystals for every person in his group.

The Giant Dragon Valley might be a little dilapidated compared to the other places in the Chaos Dimension, but the crystals they could obtain from the crystal mines of various sizes were still numerous. For their journey this time, Yang Ling’s Space Ring was stuffed with many Black Crystals.

Dimensional Merchants were elusive and would only sell extremely rare or precious items. Just as the black-robed man had said to his partner, even if they could not afford it, heading over to have a look and gain a little knowledge was not bad either!
