Chapter 1565: The Assembly Starts

"Help each other? Now, I’m intrigued. How can you help me?"

Ying Zheng ignored his arrogant tone. "I need your help to kill Wu Hong."

"Now, that’s unexpected."

"That woman is the epitome of talent, and without any variables, she will be the first official Primordial Chaos Saint of this world," Ying Zheng uttered. "It also did not help that she has an unknown relationship with that new pest in the Dao Opening Sect, who is the only person who can argue his talent is better than hers. Their union is a catastrophe for everybody."

"So, it’s true?" Dugu Baitian asked.

"Yes. Her fate love line is with that kid," Ying Zheng revealed while secretly observing Dugu Baitian’s reaction. He knew this man had an overinflated ego, which led him to believe that only a woman like Wu Hong was worthy of being with him or giving birth to his descendants.

"I’m guessing you want us to hold off all the Dao Opening Setc’s primals while you eliminate her?"

"That’s right," Ying Zheng nodded.

"What about..." Dugu Baitian stopped himself before condensing a small sun behind him.

"You can say her name. This is Qin, and even a Primordial Saint has to coil like a snake in my domain."

"I’m intrigued by your confidence, but you still haven’t explained my question?"

"Just know that Maitreya will be too occupied to notice what is happening in the world."

"That’s it? I’m supposed to take your words for such an important thing?"

"If you agree to my proposal and sign the agreement, I will, of course, share more of my plans with you," Ying Zheng replied calmly.

"Wait, you didn’t contact foreign powers, did you?" Dugu Baitian didn’t care whether Ying Zheng was a traitor, but he did not want to be associated with such a person, as it would affect the Grand Sect Alliance’s prestige.

"Do you think I would do such a stupid thing?"

"I wouldn’t be surprised."

"Then you don’t know me as well as you think," Ying Zheng rebutted.

"It’s pointless talking about your personality. Now, what will I get from this deal?"

"An opportunity to eliminate Kong and his little disciple."

"Are you serious? You think I’m not capable of squashing such a small upstart?"

"The upstart is not only protected by destiny, but also by Maitreya," Ying Zheng sneered. "And if you can’t see him as a real threat, then you’re a fool."

"You keep using Maitreya as a threat. Do you think you’re the only one with the means to deal with her?" Dugu Baitian countered.

"I know you had a special encounter during the taboo, but I also know whatever you discovered, while it has potential, you have no idea how to tap into it."

"How do you know this?" Dugu Baitian asked, his eyes sharper than before.

"You don’t need to know this," Ying Zheng replied calmly, ignoring his aura or threat. Now that he had complete control over the pendant, he could start using its power of destiny.

"I see. It seems you also had your share of a fortunate encounter," Dugu Baitian uttered. "No wonder you’re so confident in killing Wu Hong." It’s common knowledge among Primals that while Yan Hai has the highest attack potency, Wu Hong was the hardest to deal with.

Her attacks were powerful. Her defense was unparalleled due to her terrifying body refining accomplishments. Her skills were superb due to her vast knowledge and talent. Her methods were diverse due to her Dao, and when fighting her, one mistake could result in being permanently sealed.

"Yes, I am."

"Color me intrigued," Dugu Baitian said as he stopped crossing his arms; instead, he calmly placed them behind his back. "How does your plan help me?"

"The distraction I will create will not only incapacitate Maitreya, but Buddhism as a whole. Then, after you help me hold off the Dao Opening Sect, you will have plenty of time to focus all your power to eradicate Kong and his academy."

"And what if the Dao Opening Sect insists on protecting them? Now that we have the same number of Primals, they can easily restrain us."

"Do I have to do everything? I’m sure you can figure out the rest on your own," Ying Zheng said.

"Oh, really? Your plan is perfect, but you’re leaving me with a complicated situation?" Dugu Baitian sneered. "Do you take me for a fool?"

"I’m already doing the most dangerous part by removing Maitreya from the equation. What else do you want from me?"

"Since you are so capable, it won’t be an issue to stall the Dao Opening Sect or anyone else from protecting Kong."

"Anyone else? You might as well admit that you’re useless," Ying Zheng sneered.

"Fine. As long as you can stall the Dao Opening Sect, I’ll deal with anyone else who tries to intervene."

Ying Zheng stared at him for a while. "Alright. Do we have a deal?"

"We have a deal."

Ying Zheng waved his hand to manifest an Existence Contract that he bought from the exchange list. "Read the terms and sign."

...

The next day arrived, and early in the morning, all Qin Citizens saw a white place with thirteen rainbow paths floating above their capital. All the Overlords arrived early, standing before their independent rainbow path. Wang Wei took this opportunity to observe the other factions.

The first thing he noticed was how both demon chiefs showed up, but only one of the Temple Lords from the Innate Demon Gods appeared. However, the temple showed up with more than five Heaven Primarchs, and it was noticeable that the Primarchs and Paragons stood some distance from each other.

Wang Wei looked around before focusing on the Qin people. Ying Zheng was not waiting in front of the rainbow path, but the other primals were here: Bai Qi and the Grand Preceptor. Wang Wei’s gaze was primarily on Bai Qi, known as the Heartless Slaughter God.

Bai Qi was a famous Qin general in Chinese history, known for his cruelty, as he would often massacre cities during his campaigns. Ever since Wang Wei knew the latter was one of Qin’s Primals, he wondered whether the original Bai Qi had reincarnated with Ying Zheng, or did he inherited the latter’s spirit?

’The most likely scenario is that Ying Zheng created him during his first life and reincarnated with him. But I shouldn’t rule out that he inherited Bai Qi’s spirit, just like how Ye Dafu might have inherited Sun Wukong’s spirit,’ Wang Wei thought.

Bai Qi was a middle-aged man dressed in black armor. He had streaks of gray hair in his temples, but his most noticeable features were his blood-red eyes and the fierce aura his body naturally exuded. Even if he controlled himself, he was naturally intimidating.

Bai Qi seemed to have noticed someone gazing at him, so he turned to look back.

’His path is the purest and most vile form of Slaughter. I have a feeling Li Jin will enjoy fighting him,’ Wang Wei thought before moving his head away. He looked around, and nothing garnered his attention except for a slight anomaly in Wu Hong’s area.

"What’s wrong with Song Jiang? Why does he look like a lost puppy?"

"He refused to tell me or his sister, but the best we can gather is he fell in love, and probably got his heart broken," Wu Hong replied.

"Really? At a time like this?"

"What can I say? Love strikes at the most unexpected time."

"True."

"Can you talk to him?" Wu Hong asked.

"Me?"

"He sees me as an authoritative figure, making him shy to talk about such a thing."

"Wouldn’t his twin sister be the best person for such a conversation?"

"Luli tried, but Song Jiang seemed embarrassed and refused to talk about it. I figure he might want to talk to someone who can relate."

"Doesn’t he have other fellow disciples who would be better for such a conversation?"

"He has, but since he has a higher seniority, I don’t think he’ll be willing to talk to them. Plus, they don’t have your way with words," Wu Hong explained.

"Alright. I’ll talk to him, but I can guarantee he’ll talk to me."

Not long after these two lovebirds finished their conversation, the white palace suddenly trembled, and thirteen doors appeared. Everyone slowly walked through their rainbow path, heading for the doors. In the process, Wang Wei caught sight of Maitreya and realized he had not even noticed her presence until now, making him shake his head at the wonders of Transcendent Saints.

After the Overlords entered, four golden roads appeared, forging a path for the Primal Lineages. Once these people entered, hundreds of gates materialized around the palace for other Paragons to enter. However, there were no paths for these people, which garnered the complaints of numerous cultivators.

However, as soon as a small riot was about to occur, a terrifying pressure descended on the groups of Paragons. These people understood that this was Qin’s warning, and quietly waited in line to enter the palace.
