Infinite Range: The Sniper Mage
Chapter 664: "Strike Head-On, or Infiltrate?"Chapter 664: 664: “Strike Head-On, or Infiltrate?”
At the site of UJ Warzone’s Grand Shrine, hell had broken loose—all because of one woman.
The shrine was engulfed in flames. Over three hundred members of the UJ imperial bloodline, from royalty to nobles, lay dead in a single brutal massacre.
“You tortured my cousin to death. You locked up my subordinates.
You really did a great job!”
Naoko stood atop a mound of bodies, her hair in disarray, her eyes crazed and bloodthirsty. She looked utterly deranged.
“Get up! Come on—stand up again!”
She screamed like a lunatic.
With a wave of her hand, three high-ranking guild priests behind her unleashed holy light. One by one, the UJ royals began to resurrect on the spot.
The emperor rose in a daze—only to see a grotesque, eight-headed monster towering in the distance and Naoko, covered in blood, staring directly at him.
“Don’t kill me! Please, don’t! I’ll abdicate! You can be empress of UJ!”
The once-revered ruler of UJ broke down completely, sobbing and soiling himself on the ground.
“Empress of UJ…”
Naoko chuckled and held her forehead. Then she laughed like a maniac.
“Wasn’t I already?”
Yamata no Orochi stirred the magical winds. Countless blades of air rained down from above, once again slicing the emperor and his kin to pieces.
But that was just the beginning.
Moments later, another wave of holy light descended. The broken bodies of the imperial family came back to life again…
As the emperor opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was Naoko’s sweet, smiling face.
“Only nine more deaths to go, Your Majesty.”
NUK Warzone.
A deep rumble echoed as the Chaos Temple erupted from the ruins of the NUK capital.
Kimchi Blade had now become Orgod’s official proxy in the warzone.
“Sigh… I told you not to follow me. You shouldn’t be stressing yourself in your condition,” Orson muttered.
“Did I ask for your opinion?”
Blank scoffed behind him, her eyes sharp as knives.
Sienna giggled. “Can you stop giving her a hard time just once?”
“Naoko already burned the UJ shrine and is marching toward the Maple Nation. She says she won’t attack until you’re there,” Sienna added.
“Cough… is that so…”
Orson suddenly went stiff.
Blank had clearly tagged along because she didn’t trust him not to fall for Naoko—the notorious lunatic.
“Come on. You know me. Do I look like the kind of guy who can’t resist a pretty face?”
Orson frowned and tried to take control of the conversation with a barrage of rhetorical questions.
Blank responded in the coldest possible voice:
“Oh? So you think she’s pretty?”
“…What? I didn’t say that! I was being objective!”
Orson panicked.
“Ah. So objectively, she’s beautiful. Well, how could I argue with the great Megacaster?”
Blank turned full sarcasm mode.
Orson’s jaw dropped. He was helpless.
“That’s it. He’s off to Maple Nation to find his sweetheart, while I, a poor helpless woman, am left behind.”
Blank sighed dramatically and turned to leave. “It’s fine. I can’t control him anymore. I’m letting go.”
She walked away, leaving Orson stunned. “Holy crap… that combo was devastating. I can’t counter that…”
“…What do I even say to fix this?”
He quickly messaged his go-to strategist for help.
“You idiot. Grab her. Kiss her. Then ask her to come with you,” Sienna replied with a smirk.
“Genius! Absolute genius! No wonder you’re my sister!”
Orson beamed, then ran up to Blank, grabbed her by the waist, and pulled her in.
“Jealous?” he whispered.
“Buzz off.”
“Oh, I get it. Reverse psychology. Playing hard to get?”
He leaned in, kissed her despite her glare, and held her close.
“You’re disgusting… why are you always so—mmf!”
Blank turned bright red, arms flailing, but the two dimples at the corners of her mouth betrayed her true feelings.
Orson might not be the most emotionally aware guy, but he wasn’t dumb.
If a deadly assassin like Blank wasn’t dodging his “attack,” that meant she was letting him win.
Eventually, she gave in and melted into his arms, resting against him with a soft pout.
Sienna watched with sparkling eyes, silently cheering for the win.
“Alright, let’s go say something heartfelt to the Rusina faction’s leader.”
Orson grinned, slinging an arm around each of them as he summoned Aeloria.
The four of them boarded the ancient teleportation array leading to the Maple Nation Warzone.
“You’ve discovered: Western Fortress!”
A new region label appeared before them as they landed outside a massive mechanical jungle.
Towering steel walls loomed over them, combining the Infinite Dimensions capital with Rusina’s national hub.
Dark, toxic smoke billowed through the sky, spewing from factories below that looked more like giant war machines.
The Maple Nation Warzone was steeped in steampunk style, unlike anything in the other zones.
Where most adventurers pursued personal power, Maple Nation’s elite were obsessed with enchanted gadgets and magical contraptions.
Even their beasts wore enchanted armor, drastically boosting their combat potential.
It made them lethal against similarly ranked foes—though overly reliant on gear.
Most of their attributes lagged behind due to overinvestment in external buffs.
“Madman’s chasing down the Rusina leader. Sounds like he ran into some trouble,” Sienna reported.
“Do we hit hard, or stay low?” Blank looked to Orson.
“Infiltrate first. Let’s scope them out.”
Orson raised his hand, summoning a veil of chaotic mist. He cast Phantomcraft on the two women, disguising them.
Suddenly, the two looked like blue-eyed blondes.
“You…”
Blank’s eye twitched. Her armor had turned into a skimpy black miniskirt, her long, snow-white legs fully exposed—and worst of all, she now had twin pigtails.
Sienna’s disguise was pure cuteness: curly golden waves, a doll-like baby face, and a username labeled “SweetLoli.”
“I need a new name.”
Blank growled and elbowed Orson so hard he collapsed on the ground.
“Hey! How was I supposed to know what names you wanted? Just roll with it. Cooldown’s half an hour.”
The two women dragged Orson toward the city gates, each tugging an ear or a hip.
Smack!
Two city guards stopped them.
“Nation War’s underway. All adventurers above level 50 must report to recruitment.
Why aren’t you there?”
“Are you deserters?”
The guard sneered, leering especially hard at the women.
“Are they NPCs or adventurers?” Blank whispered in shock.
NPCs never used to act this… creepy.
“They didn’t used to be real people. Now, they basically are,” Orson replied calmly.
The merged world had changed everyone—not just players, but also the native inhabitants of Infinite Dimensions.
“We, uh… got teleported here by accident. We’ll report in right away.”
Blank cleared her throat and added a seductive lilt to her voice.
Orson froze.
Oh, she was really playing this up.
The Bruce Family’s legendary infiltration skill… was she using seduction?
“Why not report in my room, sweetie?”
The guard chuckled, stepping forward with clear intent.
“Goddammit, this is annoying.”
Blank snapped and cursed.
She hated using seduction. It was the only Bruce Family skill she consistently failed at.
Two flashes of cold steel.
Critical Hit!
The guards’ heads dropped before they could react.
“…Wasn’t this supposed to be a traditional Bruce technique?”
Orson tilted his head. He’d honestly thought he was about to watch a roleplay.
“You’re an idiot.”
Blank rolled her eyes, clearly embarrassed.
A warning chimed in their ears—reinforcements would arrive soon.
“Brilliant, Emma! You lured them in with a distraction for a perfect one-shot kill!”
Sienna chimed in cheerfully, giving her sister-in-law a graceful exit.
Blank gave a tiny “mm” of agreement.
Sienna got her. Always had.
