Infinite Range: The Sniper Mage

Chapter 440 - 440: 440: My Balls Are Back!

The Holy Light Church, one of the two super churches in the US region, was a force unmatched by any heretical cult.

Within the Light Dragon Empire, there were thousands of churches, both public and secret. In the capital alone, there were 19 magnificent church buildings, each corresponding to a different faction under the Church’s control, with the Holy Light Church being the largest and most influential of them all.

Orson’s target was the “Dust Light” faction’s headquarters.

In his past life, Orson had been to this place before. The church was also known as the “Dust Light Vault,” housing countless treasures, all rare and priceless items. This vault wasn’t hidden underground but openly displayed to showcase the Church’s power.

Of course, it wasn’t easy to take anything from here.

The church’s quests were difficult, many with incomplete clues or cryptic riddles.

“Good god! Ancient Artifact fragments, and all you need to do is kill a Frightened Dragon? That’s so damn easy…”

“The Frightened Dragon… A peak Saint Lord-Class, an evil dragon of the Dark faction. Is this really any different from suicide?”

As Orson and Laketon entered the Dust Light Church, a few players were gathered in front of a glowing screen, marveling at what they saw.

Inside the silvery barrier was an ordinary-looking stone sword, about a third of its blade remaining.

Orson examined its attributes, noticing it was made from a rare material called [Earthbane Soil], which was of the same tier as [Archaic Star Iron], a divine item material.

“Kill [Frightened Dragon] x1 to obtain it.”

The sword’s attributes appeared, and the task prompt stated the difficulty was Hell-Tier, requiring players to become a believer of the Holy Light and reach level 100 to undertake it.

This quest was quite ridiculous, and for regular players, it was as impossible as trying to catch a nuclear bomb with their bare hands.

After all, the Frightened Dragon was a battle dragon of the same rank as the Lightning Dragon, incredibly powerful and troublesome.

“Artifact fragments? How about we try killing two?”

Orson raised an eyebrow, his right eye flashing with light as he activated [Ancient Saint’s Eye] to search for more clues about the fragments.

“This item has been lost. No new clues available.”

Orson sighed with a smile, realizing he was overthinking things.

If the Dust Light Church could gather the fragments to reforge them, they wouldn’t be using this item to attract followers.

The only valuable part was the [Earthbane Soil] material itself, but that wasn’t nearly enough to craft a weapon, making it of little interest to Orson.

However, there was no denying that rare treasures were hard to find, and many trial players had died in search of such materials in the past.

After quickly scanning the church’s vast halls, Orson saw treasures that would make any adventurer envious.

Though he didn’t spot any divine items or ancient divine items, there were plenty of powerful ancient magical tools.

Among them, there were two items with special effects and three pieces of divine material.

Conservatively estimating, if he sold everything, it could easily fetch him nearly ten million gold coins.

“Treasures, Barbie will come for them later.”

Orson took a deep breath, pushing away the immediate urge to loot the place.

He moved through the crowd to the center of the church, where a beam of light shone down on the central spot.

At the bottom of the beam was a strange mound of earth, surrounded by six angel statues, each one holding a sorrowful, compassionate expression. The scene appeared very sacred and unusual.

Some NPCs from the capital approached, clasping their hands in prayer and quietly offering their prayers to the mound.

“This is it.”

Orson ignored the angel statues and focused on the mound.

He could see a faint glow emanating from it, as if the Celestial soul itself was answering the prayers of the believers.

[Heavenly God’s Soil]

Quality: Divine Item

Description: It is said that the first Holy Light Emperor, after ten thousand years of prayer, finally received a response from the Heavenly Kingdom, bestowing upon him the blessed soil from the divine realm to ensure the prosperity and strength of the Holy Light Empire’s people.

Orson looked at the prompt that appeared and smiled, “If a pile of dirt can make the Holy Light Empire thrive, it wouldn’t be on the verge of collapse in the fused world.”

His eyes moved to the translucent barrier surrounding the soil and checked its attributes.

[Purple-Gold Sacred Dragon · Full Demon Subjugation · Elemental Collapse]

HP: 300 million

Effects: 50% magic damage reduction, 30% physical damage reduction

The barrier’s strength was average, and it had been created by a Purple-Gold Dragon, far from the power of a Dragon King.

Clearly, the Holy Light Church was very confident in its power. Even if someone were to break through the barrier and steal the item, they would likely have a thousand ways to get it back.

“Let me calculate how long it would take to break this barrier with my sword,” Orson muttered.

“Huh? Dude, are you out of your mind? You want to break this barrier?”

A warrior player widened his eyes in disbelief, looking at Orson.

“Isn’t that allowed?” Orson smiled at him.

“Everyone, look, we’ve got a big fool here. He wants to break through the barrier and steal the treasure!”

The player’s voice rang out, and the others turned to look at Orson, all wearing mocking expressions.

“Ha-ha, this guy really thought of that?”

“Don’t dream. Just the other day, the 911 Guild had over a hundred people try it. After less than half a minute, a bunch of level 100 Holy Light Guards rushed in and wiped them out.”

Orson looked in the direction the player pointed and saw an item called the [Ancient Church Scroll].

The light from the barrier was dimming, and the HP had dropped by over ten million, slowly regenerating.

The bloodstains on the marble floor hadn’t completely disappeared.

“Thanks for the advice, I’ll finish this quickly,” Orson said with a smile.

The other players were taken aback, “Quickly finish? This guy really has his head full of nonsense!”

“Who does he think he is, trying to rob the Holy Light Church’s treasure all by himself?”

“Isn’t this the guy who soloed 8000+ Essence Fragments, crushing Snow Dream and Strategic Trickster?”

“Wait, what? This guy?”

“Yeah, the one from Forever City, the one who made Orgod quit the game. I can’t stand this garbage!”

“One upvote for this! I’ve been a fan of Orgod for years, but what’s this loser pretending to be?”

The players nodded in agreement. Some even stood up to say that if Orgod were here, he wouldn’t need to steal the treasure with brute force. The Dust Light Church would bow to him instantly.

Breaking the barrier with violence was considered foolish and would only bring ridicule.

“Damn it… they’re only starting to praise me now?”

Orson’s lips twitched. His “disappearance” had only been a few days, but somehow, his reputation had taken a 180-degree turn.

Now, Golden Masked Warrior’s name was all over the world channel, with players blasting him in every way possible, especially after he renamed Pondenorlin City to Forever City.

Everyone was ranting about him, while “the fallen Orgod” had become a legendary figure in the Infinite Dimensions world!

An idol to the masses!

“Let me sort this out. My head’s a bit messy.”

Orson swallowed nervously under his mask. He considered himself pretty good at reading human nature, but now, it seemed like he had become the butt of a joke.

Orson sighed deeply. While the barbaric approach would earn ridicule, he thought, “Who cares if they look down on Golden Mask? It has nothing to do with Orgod!”

He then raised his hand and made a quick gesture to strike the barrier.

“Wow!!! Treasure! So much… so much…”

Suddenly, a jubilant voice echoed in Orson’s mind, sounding like a twittering little sparrow.

“Could it be…”

Orson’s eyes flashed in realization.

Crack!

A loud thud echoed under Orson’s feet, causing those who had been watching his antics to freeze in place.

They all stared at the ground between Orson’s legs, their expressions turning into a mixture of shock and confusion.

Pointing at the ground, they burst into laughter:

“His… his balls dropped out!”

A group of players couldn’t contain their laughter, clearly in awe of Forever City’s master’s humor.

But Orson remained unaffected. Instead, a pleased smile spread across his face.

Berenice: “My humble servant, I knew you’d satisfy my dragon emperor’s wishes. I love you~~~”

The laughter abruptly stopped, and the players froze in confusion as a grapefruit-like object jumped three feet in the air from the ground.

Orson’s face turned green, nearly taking a billion points of critical damage.

Berenice: “You insignificant human servants, why aren’t you offering your hearts and treasures to please your Emperor?”

Damn it!

His long-missing employee finally woke up!
