Chen Wentian, Jasmine, and Sundew reached the Great Smoky Mountains without too much trouble. Since they had captured the fat rainbow toad, it wasn’t able to activate the defensive formations. And for some reason or another, the other Spirit Lord Realm toad underling was nowhere to be found.

When they crossed one of the final mountain ranges, the environment immediately changed. Even high in the sky, the temperature shot up to uncomfortable levels. The aura of flames rose, carried by flame-attribute spiritual energy. As they flew, it only got hotter and hotter.

This was a hellish place for ordinary cultivators but a paradise for fire cultivators. There were low-level fires at the Spirit Initiate Realm, medium-level fires at the lesser realms, and high-level fires at the Spirit Lord Realm. Every square kilometer was a wonderous cultivation resource. It was a pity that this place had been take over by toads for hundreds of years.

As they proceeded, some areas even made Jasmine and Sundew uncomfortable. Therefore, Chen Wentian used some of his flame aura to open the way. He already knew where the king toad was since all he needed to do was to go where the flames were hottest.

“I’ll subdue him, conserve your energy.” He said as they approached a molten caldera.

Countless pools of lava were everywhere. Some bubbled like a hot spring while others overflowed as they boiled. He locked onto a small pool of red lava. He knew it was there.

Blue flames wrapped around his hand and glowed brightly. Dragon flames surged around his body, pushing away the surrounding red flames of the Great Smoky Mountains.

A beam of divine dragon flames shot out of his hand, slamming into the pool. There was a mighty explosion as the lava poured out and rose into the air over a hundred meters.

“Ahhhh, who dares!” A wretched voice bellowed.

The lava in the pool was blown away, revealing a large orange toad. It was lying on top of a smaller red toad. It was King Huo Tu and his subordinate Huo Yan.

“Is it doing what I think it’s doing?” Jasmine muttered.

Sundew cackled with laughter, “Yes, Miss Jasmine, he is.”

“Insolent!” Jasmine spat and immediately launched three beams of moonlight down.

These attacks all cut through the toad king’s flame aura, leaving black marks on its wart-covered body. It tried to fight back with its flame arts but found out something was wrong. There was a mighty force that was suppressing its flames, making it almost ineffective.

“My king, it’s Queen Sundew, what should we do?” Huo Yan said.

Since the female toad was still underneath her king, there wasn’t much she could do. They had been caught in an embarrassing situation with no way out.

Huo Tu was confused. He was also angry. But most importantly, he was frightened. Queen Sundew, he didn’t care about, that mantis had never been his opponent in a fair fight. His flames could burn her forest to ash if he wanted. No, what frightened him was the female fox and the human but for different reasons.

The female fox, he instantly recognized. She was the pet fox of the snake lord Zhuge Kang, a divine Nine Tailed Moonlight Fox. The Beast God Sanctum had used her divine arts to try and enslave the three beast kings. They had almost succeeded in the past, resulting in a never-ending battle between the three human kings and the three beast kings.

He had no idea what happened and why Queen Sundew was following the fox. Had the mantis finally been enslaved? Were they here to enslave him? King Wu was right; they should have tried everything to kill the fox and break the cycle. Then, they could have finally been free.

As for the human, King Huo Tu was even more frightened. At first, he didn’t know why, only that the human’s flames were able to suppress his own. However, he soon understood as he was blasted by another beam of blue flames. These were not ordinary flames… they were divine flames of the blue dragon!

“How… how…” The toad king croaked as it struggled bitterly.

Beset by divine flames and divine moonlight over and over, he couldn’t even move. His dick was even still stuck inside Huo Yan. He was a toad, not a human, so he couldn’t instantly become soft like those pink monkeys.

It was simply unbearable!

“This is impossible… impossible!” He said over and over.

“My king, what should we do?” Huo Yan asked.

Both toads were equally helpless.

For King Huo Tu, he had always been the most arrogant among the three beast kings. His territory had the most natural defenses. Even Spirit Lords would struggle for their lives just to reach the inner areas filled with flame. Therefore, he had never bothered with intricate defenses or protection armies like Queen Sundew.

He never expected that his defensive lines outside would fail to notify him of an attack. He never expected that he would be caught with his dick out and unable to run.

“Surrender or die.” Chen Wentian’s words were simple but they were filled with might.

“Surrender or die,” Jasmine repeated, emphasizing her words with more moonlight lances.

“Ahh, damn it… Gahh!” King Huo Tu cried out in pain.

“Surrender and you’ll understand the truth as I have,” Sundew spoke.

“What truth!” Huo Tu roared furiously.

The only reply was more pain and punishment.

Blue flames, white moonbeams, it was unbearable.

Huo Tu felt his life flash before his eyes. Growing up as a small toad on the outskirts of these mountains. Meeting a mighty figure and becoming friends with the mantis and the monkey. There was a large fuzzy portion of the past that he couldn’t remember. But he remembered the hatred against the humans, against the Beast God Sanctum that they had to destroy at all costs.

“Damn it…”

He didn’t want to die. He wanted to live on. He wanted to make more little toads and live a happy life.

“Fine… stop… stop! I surrender!” He croaked.

He stopped resisting and the attacks stopped. The human and the fox approached. They were both surrounded by divine blue flames.

Jasmine took out the control plate, “Huo Tu, relax and accept the power of my Lunar Blessing. It won’t hurt you. You were mine five hundred years ago. You are simply returning home.”

Moonlight energy surged, filling the control plate. Lunar Blessing activated, finally reconnecting the toad to the control plate and profound spiritual arrays within. Huo Tu held his eyes closed for several breaths before slowly opening them.

“Huo Tu, do you remember who I am?” Jasmine asked.

“You are Little Miss Zhiyue.”

“You can call me Miss Jasmine from now on. Do you remember your mission?”

He nodded. He finally remembered, “It is to protect Miss Jasmine with my life.”

It was strange. Huo Tu thought that he would feel reluctant, angry, or sad at the loss of freedom. Instead, he only felt happy, like he had finally returned home. He remembered everything now, meeting Madam Zhiyue, meeting the other five beasts, receiving their blessings…

“Miss Jasmine, I remember something important.”

“Oh, what is it?”

“It was the monkey…”

Huo Tu explained that the battle against the humans had been a very bloody one. Huo Tu and Sundew had almost lost their lives. They had slain many humans before the monkey Wu finally dragged them away to escape.

Afterward, it took them a long time to recover with Wu finding many medicinal plants for their sake. However, both Huo Tu and Sundew lost some of their memories of the incident afterward. They could only rely on what Wu told them, with the most important thing being that they had to kill the humans and their pet fox.

“I see.” Jasmine said and turned to Chen Wentian, “What do you think?”

He shook his head, “The monkey will be tricky. We’ll have to adjust our plans as we go. Sundew, heal Huo Tu and we will immediately head south!”
