On the way back, everyone was feeling a surge of emotions.
On the whole, everyone had lots of fun that day. Although there were a few hiccups and accidents, it didn’t ruin the entire party at all.
The surprise of getting to know more about Wang Yan was enough to let them overlook all the commotion.
The designated driver parked the car next to the dance academy, under a block of residential apartments. All the girls climbed out and escorted Wang Yan up the flight of stairs.
Opening the door to the room, there was a wall covered in cartoon pictures as wallpaper. The living room wasn’t big, but the decorations made the place look very cozy and comfortable.
Liu Li introduced it. “This apartment was rented by both Nawu and Yuanyuan. They have issues and can’t get used to sleeping in the dormitory—”
“Who are you saying has issues?”
Suddenly, Liu Li’s shoulders had a hand resting on it, and she went silent immediately, even before she completed her sentence.
Lu Yuanyuan carelessly opened the door to a room and told Wang Yan, “Wangwang, you’ll sleep in this room tonight. It’s just that I returned not long ago and the bed sheets aren’t put on yet, so you can get little Liu Li to help you with that. I’ll go to the dorms and party with the rest all night.”
Lu Yuanyuan dragged out a piece of luggage from the back of the room, opened it, and took out a set of pajamas, as well as a toothbrush and toothpaste. That was all she needed and she was ready.
Wang Yan nodded his head and slapped his chest with confidence.
“Okay, rest assured that I will take good care of San Wang. You can leave now.”
“Ptooey…”
“Haha!”
One laughed so much she spat her saliva, and the other went crazy laughing. The rest were giving looks that showed they thought he was being foolish.
“What beautiful scene are you picturing? Wake up!”
“Even if little Liu Li agreed, do you think we would let her do whatever she wants with a guy she’s only known for a day?”
“Not a guy, he’s a dog.”
“Do whatever you want! Anyway, you’ll be here alone, so make yourself comfortable!”
Everyone surrounded Liu Li, who was in the middle, as if they were protecting her from a wolf.
Liu Li explained weakly, “I didn’t say I wanted to stay…”
Wang Yan was shocked beyond words and hit his leg with regret.
“Yuanyuan, you didn’t keep your promise! If I knew, I would have let Guo Zihao make me drunk beyond consciousness! I could have earned money and also found someone to take care of me…”
The girls were falling over from all the laughter.
Reyi Nawu gave him a wink. “Thank you so much for the incident with Guo Zihao. How about… I stay here with you?”
‘Sure…’
At such a crucial time, speaking with discretion played an important role for him.
After processing the agreement in his brain, he blurted out, “No!”
Even though Nawu rolled her eyes at him, he received a finger heart from Liu Li that showed her praise.
Lastly, Lin Weiwei gave him a final word of advice. “Sleep early and remember to set an alarm. Tomorrow’s flag-raising starts around 5:20 a.m., so we need to leave at around three.”
Wang Yan was shocked. “We need to be on the road for such a long time?”
“It isn’t a very long journey.” Lin Weiwei shook her head. “You’ll want to stand in the front row when you watch the flag-raising ceremony, right? If we set off earlier, then we can get the front and center spot.”
Lu Yuanyuan vigorously nodded her head. “Whatever she said is true. If you arrive at 4:30, don’t even think about squeezing into the first five rows.”
Okay, then they would go earlier to secure a good place.
Wang Yan wasn’t afraid of waiting. He would rather wait an extra two hours just to get the best experience possible.
“Okay, there are no problems with me. All of you should go back early to rest.”
After hearing that he could only sleep for around three hours, Wang Yan took the initiative to chase them away.
The ladies were speechless at his actions and rolled their eyes as they left.
After setting an alarm, he took a quick shower and laid on the bed. Wang Yan didn’t think of anything at all, and after two minutes, he was fast asleep.
…
On the way back to their school, the girls started gossiping non-stop.
“Little Liu Li, what kind of life are you living? Your boy is so handsome!”
Liu Li was putting up a front. “How does he look good? He’s so tan.”
“If you don’t like him, then hand him over!”
One sentence and she didn’t know how to reply.
It was then followed by all kinds of praise from the other girls.
“He’s so dependable! It feels as though he’s more mature and reliable than our seniors.”
“Let me tell all of you, he was so funny when he was playing dice with Guo Zihao! He closed his eyes and shouted: open! After opening, he would pretend to be flustered: oh no, I really do not know how to play…”
“Yes, yes, I saw it. His whole face said take my money and drink the glasses of beer, too!”
“Hahahaha! Right, right?! It looked as if he was getting bullied, but in actuality, he was playing along and making fun of Guo Zihao and Li Yao!”
“Guo Zihao was too arrogant and didn’t realize, but Li Yao wasn’t stupid. Five hundred dollars for a glass of beer, why wouldn’t he drink?”
“That fellow is so obsessed with money and yet he still wants to woo Fu Yushi.”
“I agree! Based on Fu Yushi’s status, even if Li Yao had ten million dollars, he would still have a long way to go in getting her.”
“I think Wangwang has a chance. Shishi’s glance changed after she learned about his status.”
“Based on your deductions, I think the glance Rere gave Wangwang was also inappropriate…”
“Do you want to die?! Are you asking for a beating?!”
“Oh no, turning shame into anger, and now you’re attempting to silence me by killing me? Do you dare disagree?”
“Even Weiwei took the initiative to hug him!”
“Hey! Who doesn’t know that Lin Weiwei is someone who judges people by appearance? She might just find a male model as a boyfriend someday.”
“Who are you saying judges people by appearance?”
“I’m talking about you. Any problem?”
“Sigh, I cannot believe you and your words…”
The topic of conversation was getting out of hand, and while talking for the entire stretch home, they seemed like typical kids.
Back at the dormitory, they went to wash up and brushed their teeth before meeting up again later in Liu Li’s room to have a late-night talk.
Lu Yuanyuan and Lin Weiwei were squeezed together at the same sink to brush their teeth. After Yuanyuan was done brushing her teeth, she stared at Lin Weiwei with a conflicted look on her face, before asking a really random question.
“If Huang Xu had agreed to play just now, what would you have done?”
Lin Weiwei was surprised by the question and raised her head. She studied Lu Yuanyuan’s expression and asked another question without replying to hers. It was in a joking tone and she meant no harm. “Hm? You seem pretty concerned about Wangwang.”
Lu Yuanyuan gave a sigh and explained simply what had happened during the game of truth or dare.
“Actually, I know that Wangwang doesn’t like me. He was only taking care of my pride. It would be a little cheesy to say that I’m grateful for it, so I’ll consider it admiration… Anyway, I couldn’t bear to see him at the losing end.”
Instantly, Lin Weiwei understood Yuanyuan and nodded her head, before giving a loud sigh again.
“That little Liu Li’s luck…”
“Talk about it!” Lu Yuanyuan stared at her, extremely annoyed. “Now everyone in our grade knows her!”
“It can’t be helped.”
Lin Weiwei was unbothered by it and just gave a shrug. She smiled to show her generosity.
“I have a secret stash of more than 200,000 dollars. If we had won, we would have drunk together. If we had lost, then we would pay the amount together!”
Unsurprisingly, it was the answer that she had expected.
Lu Yuanyuan was feeling satisfied yet had mixed feelings at the same time.
“Yo… you’re so chill, but did you think about Liu Li’s emotions when you were helping Wangwang with his decision?”
“It doesn’t matter!”
Lin Weiwei didn’t care about it and pouted her lips before giving a mocking laugh that proved she didn’t care about their relationship.
“Little Liu Li? She’s not as weak as you. She is determined and placed her heart in being the main star of the theatre. Why would she be bothered by such an issue? You and your narrow-mindedness. Just depending on practice would get you nowhere in life. You’re destined to follow in little Liu Li’s footsteps, unable to outshine her!”
“F*ck! You explain yourself properly now! Since when is my standard lower than hers?! Who’s narrow-minded?!”
Lu Yuanyuan exploded instantly and chased Lin Weiwei all the way back to her room.
After they finished packing, everyone laid on their own beds and started chatting about everything under the sun.
The topic of conversation wasn’t limited to Wang Yan anymore and Liu Li gradually lost interest in taking part in it.
After setting an alarm, she took the time to send Wang Yan a message, but she didn’t get a reply after waiting for some time. She felt as if she was at a loss.
‘What is Wangwang doing?
‘Bathing?
‘Asleep?
‘Was he serious about being interested in me?
‘Would he be angry that I didn’t stay with him?’
There were 100,000 whys running through her head.
It wasn’t that Liu Li wasn’t conflicted, but she did not let her emotions affect what she had to do.
What did she have to do, then?
She had to reflect on what had happened during that day and slowly fall asleep.
No matter how many times one was in a relationship, a woman would think more easily, whereas a man would want to act more.
For instance, at that moment, in the silent room, there were lots of people having different thoughts who couldn’t fall asleep.
Who were they thinking of?
What were they thinking of?
Only the night would know.
…
“Woof, woof, woof, woof! Woof, woof, woof, woof!”
In the quiet room, there was a sudden noise of loud dogs.
Nawu took some time to open her right eye a little and complained, “Who brought their dog to the dorms?”
Still half asleep, Lu Yuanyuan scolded, “Get lost! If you don’t disappear now, we’ll eat dog meat on the way!”
Nawu was finally more awake and shouted, “Lin Weiwei, turn off your stupid alarm!”
Lin Weiwei raised her head with messy hair, took out her phone, stared at it with only one eye open for two seconds, then replied angrily, “What the heck! It’s not mine!”
The three ladies turned their eyes towards Liu Li, who was still fast asleep.
However… Wait a minute!
The sound didn’t seem to be coming from her area?
Lin Weiwei decided to sit up and distinguish where the sound was coming from. Then, she turned her glance towards… Reyi Nawu.
Nawu scratched her head, rummaging around to find the source of the sound. Finally, under the pillow, she found a phone that was blinking and lighting up.
“Woof, woof, woof, woof! Woof, woof!”
After taking it out from under the pillow, the light and sound became even brighter and louder.
Lu Yuanyuan was so angry that she screamed and left her bed to go over to her.
“Accident, accident! This is the first time I’m using my ringtone as my alarm…”
Nawu awkwardly smiled.
Okay, there was no need to sleep anymore. They had to get out of bed and brush their teeth to prepare for the day!
Lin Weiwei was so depressed as she got out of bed, and when she left the toilet after she finished brushing her teeth… F*ck, the room was back to being silent!
Nawu and Lu Yuanyuan had gone to lay on their beds again, while Liu Li hadn’t even woken up. It was only her who woke up fully due to the commotion.
“Yuanyuan, are you not going to watch the flag-raising ceremony?”
“I’m not going! I drank too much, and my head hurts!”
“Nawu, what is going on? You set the alarm and you’re not getting up?”
“I didn’t sleep well, my face is a little swollen… I’m in no mood to see people!”
“Liu Li! Little Liu Li?!”
A uniform breathing sound came from Liu Li’s bed.
What the heck!
Lin Weiwei was so mad she wanted to kill everyone on their beds.
Luckily, 30 seconds later, the alarm that Liu Li had set started ringing.
“I like your telling eyes. I wish I could touch your lovely face with tenderness again…”
The song only went on for two lines. Liu Li, who was sleeping and oblivious to the commotion just now, woke up immediately because of her own alarm.
Her messy hair covered half her face, and wearing white pajamas, she straightened her back and sat up…
If it had been another person and not Lin Weiwei who knew her very well, he or she would have been scared enough to pee his or her pants.
Even Lin Weiwei was shocked by her reaction and gritted her teeth.
What sin had she committed to deserve that?
She had a bunch of foolish friends!
