I Have a Sword

Chapter 1133: Not As Awesome As My Family

It's dark… Ye Guan shook his head. This world is truly full of darkness.

The burly man calmly said, "According to the rules of the Divine Ruins, the holder of the sword is the owner of that sword."

"Want to know why I dared to give that sword to you?" asked Ye Guan with a smile.

The burly man casually picked up a large iron hammer beside him and grinned. "Threatening me? Do you know who owns this blacksmith shop?"

Ye Guan shook his head. "Whoever it is, they're not as awesome as my family."

With a will on Ye Guan's end, the Qingxuan Sword shot out of the burly man's storage ring. The burly man's expression changed drastically, but the Qingxuan Sword pierced his neck before he could even react.

Instant kill!

Ye Guan's actions shocked everyone around him.

The crowd revealed faces full of astonishment at the sight.

Ignoring the onlookers, Ye Guan removed the storage ring from the burly man's body and gathered all the weapons within the shop. The gathering process was done quickly and skillfully.

The burly man was still alive. He glanced at the imperial palace on the right and smiled upon seeing something before finally breathing his last.

Ye Guan stretched out his hand, and the Qingxuan Sword returned to his palm.

Without a word, he turned around and walked away.

The people around him looked at him with caution, especially the shop owners. They were terrified that he would rob them next.

"Brother, please wait." A voice echoed behind Ye Guan.

Ye Guan stopped in his tracks and turned to see a young man standing not far away. The youth was dressed in a luxurious silk robe, and an old man carrying a great sword was standing behind him.

The young man in the silk robe smiled, asking, "Brother, may I ask how my Iron God Clan has offended you?"

The Iron God Clan?! The crowd gasped and quickly backed away.

The Iron God Clan was one of the four great powers of the Divine Ruins!

Ye Guan smiled. "One of your people tried to seize my sword, so I killed him. If the Iron God Clan wants revenge, feel free to try."

The crowd was shocked. How could someone be so brazen?

The young man in the silk robe stared deeply at Ye Guan. Although he was still smiling, his expression was unsettling.

Just then, the old man carrying a great sword stepped forward.

With that single step, an invisible sword energy surged toward Ye Guan like a flood.

Ye Guan took a step forward as well, and the Qingxuan Sword flew out.

Slash!

A streak of sword light flashed.

The old man's face changed drastically. He hastily drew his weapon and slashed out with all his might.

Crack!

A crisp noise echoed. Ye Guan's sword shattered the old man's great sword and pierced the latter's forehead, pinning him to the spot.

Another instant kill!

The old man stared at Ye Guan in utter disbelief.

The young man in the silk robe now looked more serious than ever.

The Qingxuan Sword absorbed the old man's divine soul and returned to Ye Guan's hand. Ye Guan glanced at the young man.

"Sir, this matter is our Iron God Clan's fault," said the young man in the silk robe. "We apologize for the inconvenience."

"If the Iron God Clan comes after me again, I'll go straight to your clan," Ye Guan said sternly before turning around to leave. Knowing that hesitation would only invite more trouble, Ye Guan knew that he had to be ruthless.

Left all alone, the young man in the silk robe revealed a dark face, but his eyes were filled with shock. He hadn't expected that the other party would be so powerful.

After a moment of silence, the young man glanced at the old man's body and turned around to leave.

***

After wandering through the city for a while, Ye Guan eventually entered a tavern. The tavern sold spirit wine, which could help increase one's cultivation base. Of course, it was sold in varying grades, and better spirit wine provided better help.

The wine reminded him of Tianxing Tree. Its fruit had the same effect as the wine, but unfortunately, it was no longer of much use to him.

Ye Guan bought a copy of an encyclopedia. After skimming through it, he finally gained a detailed understanding of this place.

The Divine Ruins once belonged to a powerful civilization known as the Divine Ruins Empire. The founder of the Divine Ruins Empire had obtained an incredibly powerful artifact called the Supreme Law Seal, and it contained a myriad of supreme laws.

The people of the Divine Ruins had been relying on that artifact since then.

However, internal strife broke out within the dynasty, and the Supreme Law Seal shattered into countless fragments that scattered across the Divine Ruins.

The empire's collapse was accelerated by an invasion from their archenemy, a foreign race. Amidst the chaos, a Divine General named Qiong Ye rose up and fought a foreign god, shattering an entire starfield in the process.

The two perished in the battle, while the starfield became known as the Spacetime Abyss.

The invasion was repelled, but it hastened the dynasty's downfall. In the end, the dynasty was divided into four factions—the Iron God Clan, the Divine Law Academy, the Titan Giant Clan, and the Imperial City.

The Divine Ruins became a chaotic battleground, and other civilizations were constantly invading it.

Ye Guan closed the book and frowned. "Master Pagoda, what do you think that lady's goal is in sending me here?"

Little Pagoda replied, "I don't know, but that lady is certainly playing a very big and complex game."

Ye Guan nodded slightly. He dared not underestimate the First Hall Master, but he couldn't help but wonder about her scheme's ultimate goal. Shaking his head, he continued reading the book.

In Ye Guan's eyes, speculations were meaningless at this point. All he could do was wait, as he knew that the lady would eventually seek him out.

The cultivation realms in the Divine Ruins were vastly different compared to the Guanxuan Universe. Here, the people cultivated the Supreme Laws created by the founding ancestor of the Divine Ruins civilization, and there were only five realms—Law Cultivator, Law Enablers, Law Defiers, Law Masters, and finally, the Supreme Sovereign.

The Supreme Law Fragments were especially valuable because they could greatly enhance a cultivator's strength. Moreover, making breakthroughs required collecting enough fragments of the Supreme Laws as catalysts.

Thus, Supreme Law Fragments were highly sought after in the Divine Ruins. When absorbed, those fragments wouldn't disappear. Instead, they would transform into a stream of energy residing within the individual.

Upon their death, the fragments would reappear in the world.

This strange characteristic was one of the main reasons behind the chaotic state of the Divine Ruins.

Ye Guan recalled something just then, prompting him to retrieve the storage ring that he had taken from the burly blacksmith. Examining its contents, he found six Supreme Law Fragments.

The standard currency in the Divine Ruins was a type of energy crystal known as Mystic Crystals. A single Supreme Law Fragment could be exchanged for a hundred thousand Mystic Crystals. The energy contained within Mystic Crystals far exceeded the energy within the Eternal Crystals of the Tianxing Civilization.

Including the six fragments he had just acquired, Ye Guan had Supreme Law Fragments, making him quite wealthy by local standards.

Furthermore, the treasures he had taken from the blacksmith were also remarkable. Selling those would help him fetch even more fragments.

His curiosity was piqued—I wonder what's my cultivation realm here…

Ye Guan's Dao focused on Order; he was treading a unique Dao of his own design. Conventional rankings no longer applied to him, but they could serve as a reference. Regardless, each step forward was a personal breakthrough for him.

Ye Guan turned to the section describing the Iron God Clan.

The Iron God Clan was once part of the Divine Ruins Empire. After the internal strife and the invasion, the imperial family of the Divine Ruins Empire could no longer maintain control, leading to its fragmentation.

The Iron God Clan was one of the four factions that emerged from this division. Notably, Qiong Ye, the Divine General who had sacrificed himself, was the ancestor of the Iron God Clan.

Looking out the window, Ye Guan murmured, "I wonder how strong the First Hall Master is here."

The Great Daoist Brush Master had told him that even the First Hall Master couldn't unify the Divine Ruins. This was clear evidence that the top-tier experts of this place were far more terrifying than he had anticipated.

While Ye Guan was investigating the Divine Ruins, a middle-aged man in loose robes soon made his way to the Divine Ruins, and he was none other than the Multiverse Emperor!

An elder carrying a staff and clad in divine robes was standing next to him. The elder had a cold gaze, and two cultivators clad in golden armor followed behind him.

They were the Temporal Guardians.

The elder looked at the distant Imperial City of the Divine Ruins Empire and said, "We've received intelligence that he's inside."

The Multiverse Emperor said calmly, "Do you have a way to deal with that lady?"

The elder shook his head. "She's first on the Forbidden List. Unless my entire Temporal Dao Hall works together at full strength, we cannot do anything to her. However, such an endeavor would come at too great a cost, and we will not pursue it."

The Multiverse Emperor remained silent.

"Since she has not chosen to stand on our side, we will side with her enemies. After all, the enemy of our enemy is our friend," said the elder. He stared at the Multiverse Emperor and said, "We will assist you in destroying the Guanxuan Universe, and we will also help you refine that universe into a temporal artifact.

"In return, you must fulfill your promise to us…"

The Multiverse Emperor smiled faintly. "Rest assured, I will secure a ticket to the Daoist Temple for the Temporal Dao Hall."

The elder nodded slightly.

The Multiverse Emperor gazed toward the distant remnants of the Divine Ruins Empire and smirked. "That so-called First Hall Master, Clan Leader Jing, and those swordsmen backing Ye Guan—they're nothing but larger ants. Eventually, they will all become my stepping stones…"
