Chapter 599 Assimilating Data (Part 5)

'So, you cannot make anyone into a Hunter.' Yecha frowned in response before asking, 'But if there's a chance, can you make them into one?'

'Of course.' Dota nodded, 'The process is pretty simple actually.'

'Can you tell me the details?' Yecha asked next.

'No,' Dota replied in all seriousness, 'There's too much risk in doing that.'

'Why?' Yecha asked, curious to know the truth regarding the Hunters.

Dota didn't reply, for even a reply would hint at the answer, risking their entire operation. After all, even though it ensured to drink all the Mental Energy generated by Yecha, problems would arise once Yecha becomes an S-Rank Hunter.

After all, that was when the Hunter System would pay some attention to her as the Hunter System fragment in her would become big enough.

So, Dota wouldn't be able to freely talk with her at that time, for it couldn't simply drink all her Mental Energy as it did now. The Hunter System would definitely be suspicious.

So, if Yecha was aware of the details, then she might be thinking of the same at that time too, which would result in the information being accessed by the Hunter System.

Even though there was a solid chance the Hunter System wasn't even going through the thoughts and memories regarding most Mental Energy from weak Hunters, there was still a chance.

S-Rank Hunters weren't the peak, but they were important enough.

Upon seeing Dota remaining silent at her question, Yecha could only place it at the back of her mind as she thought about the discussion that had happened just recently with her party members.

They had barely stopped themselves from trading blows with one another.

Typically, in a six-man party, the average percentage distribution was 15 percent of profit. That meant 90 percent of the total profits were used up. The remaining ten would be used to prepare for the upcoming raid, if they were one party.

But as half the party members were freelancers, this saved-up percentage took a hit.

Despite screwing up massively, Bolgay still ended up taking 15 percent of the profits with him. Anything below, and he was ready to kill. Following that, Gulhirm settled for 18 percent while Shokolah took 17 percent. Altogether, they took 50 percent of the profits.

The moment she thought about it, Yecha fumed, for this exploration just ended up in a loss. The resultant profit just wasn't enough to save up for their next raid.

Even if all three took the minimum most contribution of 15 percent, it only left a meagre five percent as savings.

Weapon repairs, money to book a dungeon, the commissions—bribes—they paid to the dungeon maintenance staff to obtain rights over the dungeon, etc. all cost money.

This was not to mention the potions, intelligence regarding the dungeon layout, the monster types, etc. All that had to be done with just this five percent of commission. So, their profits were pretty nil.

'We need to make a solid party soon enough.' She sighed in the end, watching the truck arrive at her home, a large villa as uncle Mass helped unload the Hunter Home, pushing it into the garage.

"Thanks, uncle." Yecha waved at him, "I'll see you next week."

"Alright, take care, child." Uncle Mass smiled in return before driving the truck away. He had to park it in the Hunter Association, for the truck was theirs.

Only before the commencement of the next raid would he get the permission to drive it out again.

Once she arrived home, Yecha checked her phone, seeing the notification regarding the money deposited into her account. She then arrived before a mirror, muttering softly, "Status."

  [Name: Yecha]

  [Age: 27]

  [Class: Healer]

  [Level: 88]

  [Rank: A]

  [Strength: 32]

  [Agility: 41]

  [Defence: 56]

  [Sense: 129]

  [Mana: 144]

[Skills: Healing Domain, Status Recovery, Status Buff, Purge Damage, Regeneration, Reflective Barrier]

Upon staring at the basic details, Yecha's gaze fell on her level, muttering after a while, "Three more levels to attain the status as an S-Rank."

She then thought, 'Dota, the reason you've refused to tell me anything beyond the basics is that you're afraid of me reaching the S-Rank, right?'

'You're right about that.' Dota replied.

'Then, if I were to give up my current strength…' She began to say when Dota interjected her.

'Not yet. I don't have a suitable power to help you yet.' Dota said in a hurry.

'But, I feel like you have a terrifying power that you can give me. Is that wrong?' She asked.

'You're right about that. But, this power doesn't belong to the Hunters. There are too many risks involved in this.' Dota replied.

'Does the power belong to the monsters, then?' She asked.

'No, it doesn't. It's from a completely different source, something that can change this world entirely.' Dota replied.

'If you are telling me this much, you must have your assurance, right?' Yecha smiled in response.

'Yes, two in fact.' Dota said, 'First of all, you're by far the most suitable to wield my power in this world. Second, even if a problem arises, the moment I sever our connection, you'll forget everything we've ever talked about, including my existence.'

'I see, thank you for being honest with me.' Yecha said, clenching her hand into a fist as she stared at her reflection in the mirror, saying after a while, "I've decided! I won't level up beyond this."

"Take me in fully." She expressed her will, saying in confidence, "I'm confident in my ability to judge things instinctively. And I feel that you'll make my life more interesting."

"Hahaha!" Suddenly, a melodious voice resounded from behind her, startling Yecha as she turned around in a hurry, staring at the figure of a chuckling woman that had appeared behind her from god knows when.

"W-Who are you?" Yecha asked, alarmed, hurriedly clutching the mirror like a shield as she covered it with a barrier, turning it into a defensive shield capable enough to withstand attacks from even A-Rank Hunters.

"Haven't you been talking with me all along?" The mysterious lady before her smiled in response and drew closer.

"I'm what you've been seeking all along."
