Chapter 538 Harbinger of Serenity

Chapter 538 Harbinger of Serenity

The starlight seeped into the Origin Beast, gently turning into a mysterious power that partially healed its wounds, making the rest of the power seep into the unborn child, strengthening it enough.

  Guooong!

The Origin Beast screamed in pain, unable to be on land for long. But immediately after, a tide of water splashed on it, not receding as it defied common sense, building a sphere of water around it, prolonging its life.

With its body in the water again, the Origin Beast was able to breathe as it exerted strength in its body, feeling its baby continue to move from within before eventually, it delivered the baby amid a stream of blood.

"Kiek!" Alika shrieked instinctively upon seeing multiple worm-like creatures gushing out of its stomach in a torrent, also revealing its inner walls where they were still latched onto, eating through its body.

They were eating it internally, preventing it from doing anything in fear of harming its child.

As for its child, a thin film of starlight protected it from all harm, also healing the various birth complications it had suffered from the mass of worm-like creatures invading the body of its mother.

  Guan!

The child slowly opened its eyes, unleashing a mournful roar as it watched its mother breathe her last.

The worm-like creatures had obviously noticed it, having targeted it from the start. But, when they swam through the water to reach it, the starlight barrier expanded before vanishing.

All the worm-like creatures vanished mysteriously, teleported deep into the ocean waters from where they originated.

The baby Origin Beast swam through the peaceful sphere of water, nudging its mother's corpse, letting out mournful roars from time to time upon seeing the lack of response.

The thought of its mother's death finally registered in its mind as the baby Origin Beast began to weep in sorrow.

"I'm sorry, this is all I could…" Hazen began to speak when suddenly, he halted.

  "If only the mother survived."

  "Such a pity."

  "Poor child."

"Even if they are monsters, they're still precious lives."

"I really hope for a miracle!"

  Boom!

The symbol of Secret Society on his forehead vanished as an explosive aura emerged from his body as immediately after, millions of Mental Energy streams were revealed in the air.

Hazen gazed around; his eyes gradually gained a cunning glint as he focused upon the Mental Energy streams from the villagers that were all directed at the Origin Beast, hoping that it would survive, even though they were aware that it was dead.

"Hazen…?" Alika stared in shock upon seeing Hazen's figure slowly expand in size, gradually turning monstrous.

A jet-black cloak began to cover his body that seemed ethereal at first glance but sported spikes all over. The spikes morphed in location, congregating on his back as Hazen's height soon surpassed three metres, already becoming a giant.

But he continued to grow in size, now wholly covered by the jet-black cloak as the Mental Energy streams originating from the villagers condensed into a starlight sphere, transforming into a tiny Hazen that appeared overhead the Origin Beast's corpse.

Immediately after, his figure began to sport injuries, suffering from pain as shockingly, the wounds on the Origin Beast vanished, as if they were never there in the first place.

Now, the ethereal figure of Hazen was injured all over, on the verge of death as he smiled, gazing at the villagers as he spoke, "Your wish is my command."

  Boom!

His figure exploded, vanishing as a result.

"The Origin Beast!" Alika shouted in shock as miraculously, the Origin Beast had come back to life.

  "My God!"

  "It's a miracle!"

  "Praise the Harbinger of Serenity!"

  "The God of Miracles!"

The adults among the villagers immediately prostrated on the ground, stating in unison, confusing the children that weren't aware of the truth regarding Hazen's identity.

"T-This is…?" Alika stared at the growing back of Hazen, feeling that the two of them didn't belong to the same world, "Are you leaving me behind…bastard?"

The ground mildly trembled as the jet-black behemoth of a monster stopped growing upon reaching a height of six metres, turning around as it faced Alika before gradually…kneeling on the ground.

"I'm…sorry. Your wish is the only thing that I won't be able to fulfil." The figure opened its mouth as Hazen's familiar voice resounded, only a bit more profound at the moment.

"You're…still Hazen, right?" Alika asked hesitantly, raising her hand as she gently touched the gigantic head before her.

"Hazen is a part of me." The jet-black figure replied.

"Then…" Alika teared up, "Will you be leaving the village now?"

"Yes…That's the foundation for my revival." The jet-black figure replied, "To heal the minds of the people is my reason for existence. But,"

"My memory of living in this village would always be dear to me. It's the most…peaceful I had ever been in my life." Saying so, the jet-black figure prostrated before the Village Head, "Thank you for taking care of me all along. I had fun."

"Goodbye." Saying so, his figure vanished.

"Hazen!" Alika screamed, tearing up as her brain worked in overdrive, suddenly causing her to clap her palms together and pray earnestly, "Be here with me! You promised!"

"Always!" A majestic voice returned as a chain—bearing the symbol of Secret Society—manifested before her, equipping itself around her neck.

"Teacher! Hazen is copying my art!"

  "Hazen, don't die!"

  "Is it becoming worse?"

Their shared memories played in her mind as Alika stared at the symbol of Secret Society, able to feel Hazen's presence clearly through it, feeling like he was still beside her, "Heuk!"

She kneeled on the ground, continuing to cry.

In the meantime, the Village Chief picked up his aged body upon seeing the two Origin Beasts—the mother and child duo—gradually enter the ocean and vanish from view. He hurried towards their shrine, rushing into it as he gazed at one corner of the shrine where the fragments of a statue existed, left untouched for 16 years.

But now, the shards had vanished, and standing in its place was the original figure of the Harbinger of Serenity, anew.
