I Hate Systems

Chapter 391: Four Schemes

Chapter 391: Four Schemes

In a secluded room within the hospital were stacks of books and papers arranged haphazardly.

They were papers regarding the patients that had been cured. It was documented just because he had ordered to do so. But there wasn’t any other use beyond that.

Compass Carburettor didn’t have any deeper plans regarding that, only documenting the illness and the diseases faced by the common populace for the time being.

Even though it was messy, there were detailed records of everything. Whether or not it would be used in the future was unsure. But, he still stored them just in case he needed them.

There was another reason for establishing this place. It was because it was where the sleeper cells left the pages of information daily.

Compass Carburettor arrived before a shelf in the corner, taking out an envelope there to begin going through the day’s information.

“Folkan Secret Realm’s entrance will open in 17 days.” His eyes widened in surprise at the first line of information.

Of course, the sleeper cell network didn’t just collect information related to System Hosts. They also collected other information that had value. After all, only then would they be aware of whether or not a System Host was related to the events.

But, there were some tricky situations involved here, as this information mostly consisted of what the people in the respective regions came to know about. It meant that the sleeper cells would be active most of the time.

Compass Carburettor didn’t want to impose his will on the people like this. Therefore, he created a second group of sleeper cells dedicated to this purpose.

And for that, he targeted specific groups: thugs, beggars, etc.

People that constantly lived with no hope for the future were his targets. After all, even if they become sleeper cells, there wasn’t any difference in their lives. Such people were his targets.

As to how he found them and made them into sleeper cells…

“Give up…your life’s mine now.” Suddenly, a knife flashed before his throat, the cold glint it emanated caused his saliva to be stuck in his throat while sweat formed on his forehead.

A slender hand held his left shoulder, positioning it right over the socket to be able to react to any of his movements.

His heart thumped in shock, racing for a good few seconds before slowing down gradually. Turning around, he gazed at the woman that had scared him.

Chestnut brown hair that was tied up into a bun, dark brown eyes that had a sense of sharpness hidden behind a veil of naivety, a nose longer than the average woman, and a thick pair of lips that were pursed.

She wore a tight-fitting dress that resembled the blanket of night, concealing many weapons within as her posture was steady.

“You’ve returned, Grisha.” Compass Carburettor smiled, “How was your trip?”

“I found some good orphaned talents and recruited them.” Grisha replied, retracting the knife as she walked away, “I’ve booked and marked a room in Rilk City. I’ll bring you there two days before the Folkan Secret Realm opens.”

“Also…” She said, throwing a bracelet towards him, “I finally managed to forge this storage bracelet. The area within is a hundred cubic metres. It’s more than enough space to store everything you own. Of course, I made one for myself too. It’ll come in handy for our use in the Secret Realm.”

“Spatial bags are too risky to use as they can be easily stolen. This storage bracelet is secure and cultivators won’t realise that you can store items in it until they see it in action.” She said before vanishing, “I’ll bring in another batch to be made into sleeper cells after three days.”

“She left just like that.” Compass Carburettor sighed, observing the storage bracelet as he slowly connected with it using his Origin Essence, remarking in surprise at the vast space within. “Guess I should begin transferring all my belongings to it.”

For the first two years, Grisha too was wholly focused on research to create her exclusive Origin Arts. After she was done, she acted on her own.

The hospital and the sleeper cell project were his idea while Grisha had her own plans. After all, she held considerable hatred towards Systems for the troubles they had given her in her previous loops, even causing her demise many times.

With that, she too concocted her own schemes. After all, their enemies were Hosts to the Luck based Systems. Due to that, having many different schemes was a necessity to face them.

Currently, Compass Carburettor had the sleeper cell scheme running. Ranze and Xuer were the same, having planted seeds for their respective schemes too.

Grisha’s plan was pretty simple. She planned to create a Sect in the Misty Gorge Ruins, using the advantageousness of the terrain. Moreover, since Compass Carburettor had already modified the ruins within, it was the safest place to establish a Sect.

Moreover, it was also large enough to install many facilities within.

Since Grisha had the power of space, she was able to teleport to and from the Misty Gorge Ruins, and hence stationed her Sect Members there.

All the Sect Members were orphans that she had rescued from hunger and a life of poverty and near-death states. So, they were loyal to her.

Moreover, all of them were young, around 12-15 years in age. She trained them constantly over the years, only causing them to awaken their Martial Spirit in the past few months.

Even though it seemed like a benevolent act, she was only saving orphans that she determined had considerable talent. As there was a Martial Spirit Awakening Altar in the ruins, it was easy for her plan to fruition.

Moreover, Compass Carburettor was earning a lot of funds through his healing services. So, he provided her Essence stones, giving her enough financial strength to run a Sect. After all, they didn’t wish to just use up everything that they obtained from the ruins. Without any income streams, they would run out eventually.

Grisha kidnapped and brought thugs and the likes to be made into sleeper cells by Compass Carburettor. And in return, he gave her all the profits his hospital made, not to mention creating various seeds of the mind that she had ordered.

The function of these seeds was to increase one’s interest in a certain field, thereby making them a genius in that particular field which would then come into play when they awakened their Martial Spirit.

Thanks to her efforts, among the Sect Members, there were already two that had awakened an Earth Martial Spirit, one of which was a Fire Martial Spirit that allowed her to use her space attributed Origin Essence to forge the storage bracelets.
