Chapter 142: Burn the Bat Clan

The members of the Wolf Clan were shouting angrily. “What does the Bat Clan have to do with us?”

“Are you from the Wolf Clan or the Bat Clan?”

The werewolves roared in dissatisfaction.

Their minds were consumed by thoughts of the delicious humans. Now that there was an unrelated incident disrupting them, they were unhappy.

“I asked you to find the whereabouts of the human who killed the werewolves. What are you doing? Why are you giving us news about the Bat Clan?” the werewolf leader said angrily as he pointed to the werewolf who was reporting the information.

“Leader… I…”

“Why are you stammering? How dare you interrupt us at this critical moment. Are you a spy from the human race?” the leader said angrily.

The more he thought about it, the more he felt that this werewolf had been sent by other clans to disrupt them.

Baimei stared at the Wolf Clan and then glanced at the anxious werewolf.

She shook her head slightly.

She then walked slowly in front of the Wolf Clan’s leader.

“Hongshan, why don’t we let him tell us what happened first?”

Hongshan looked at Baimei.

“Huh?”

“There’s no harm in finding out what he knows. No matter what the reason is, it won’t be too late to punish him after hearing what he has to say,” Baimei assured him.

Only then did Hongshan notice that the messenger had a strange expression on his face.

So he said more calmly, “Tell me what happened.”

“The twelve bat caves were all destroyed. Of the Four Heavenly Kings, only three are left.”

“Say that again!”

Hongshan was startled.

The news was too shocking.

This was a sign that the Bat Clan was about to be exterminated.

“Leader, all of the Bat Clan’s twelve large caves have been burned down, and the fire lasted for several days and nights! No one can extinguish it. The fire is rather weird. Whoever touches it will burn until their bones turn to powder.”

“What!”

When the werewolves heard this, they were shocked.

This was just too cruel!

What kind of fire could be so powerful?

“Are you telling the truth?” they asked in amazement.

“Of course it’s true. You can ask the Fox Clan.”

Baimei stared at the messenger werewolf. “Your leader ordered you to find the whereabouts of the man, so why did you come back with this news?”

Hongshan seemed to regain his senses.

That’s right!

What did this news have to do with that person?

“Are you straying from your task?” Hongshan asked angrily as he stared at the werewolf.

“Leader, it was same man who destroyed the Bat Clan’s caves,” the messenger werewolf said respectfully.

“What? He went to make trouble for the bats?”

He was shocked!

All the werewolves were shocked.

This was a ruthless man.

Much more ruthless than their own Wolf Clan.

“Chief, you can always ask someone else to verify this,” Baimei said.

She returned to the Fox Clan to update them about the situation.

If this was true, then this was a significant matter.

This was a person who held grudges and took revenge.

They shouldn’t mess around with him!

The Bat Clan was powerful and they hid in the depths of the underground caves. But this person didn’t even care that they had five True Realm masters.

The humans only had two True Realm masters more than the Bat Clan. They couldn’t be much more powerful, right?

“Send two people to investigate this matter as soon as possible!” Baimei instructed her subordinates.

Boom!

Whispers broke out among the tens of thousands of werewolves in the Wolf Clan.

No one believed it.

But the werewolf who reported this didn’t seem to be lying.

“So what if that person is powerful? What is the Bat Clan compared to our Wolf Clan?”

“This stranger can annihilate the Bat Clan so easily. That means that they won’t be afraid of us werewolves. Even if we destroy him, we will probably suffer heavy losses.”

“We fight together as a wolf pack!”

“It’s not like the bats were alone either. Yet, they were still burned by the strange fire.”

“We all know that the bats are afraid of fire, thunder and lightning. We werewolves are not afraid of those things!”

“Then you go and try!”

In the square, the werewolves started quarrelling among themselves.

Their attack had ended before it had even started.

Two days later, the news was confirmed.

The foxes decided to wait and see what would happen.

Without the help of the Fox Clan, the Wolf Clan couldn’t take action either.

Meanwhile, in a cave elsewhere, Li Mu was using his Blood Phoenix Sword to mine stones.

“Time to collect them all!”

Li Mu placed the stones into the system space.

Half a day later, Li Mu managed to extract crude oil from these stones.

He then set up a fire and began to distill the crude oil.

“Sigh. There isn’t enough phosphorus and magnesium in the oil.”

In the Bat Clan’s crypt…

Someone’s roar echoed through the cavern.

“I asked you to look for the human who’s at the True Realm level, but you still haven’t found him after so long. Instead, so many descendants of the Bat Clan have been killed. You are so useless. You’ve brought harm to the Bat Clan!”

“Master, we’ve been searching hard for ten years. We’ve searched the Zhou Family and the entire human race but that guy is still nowhere to be seen.”

“Did you at least find out why so many of our caves have been burned down?”

He roared angrily again. “I want you to bring the Four Heavenly Kings here.”

“Master, we only have three Heavenly Kings left. One of them was injured and he was eventually killed by the man from the human race.”

Li Mu appeared outside the cave.

The air was uncomfortably hot right now. But the weather would soon cool down.

“In two hours’ time, the bats will come out.”

Bats generally liked to be cool.

The biggest reason the Zhou Family had fled to the desert a long time ago was because the Bat Clan was afraid of the heat and the lack of prenatal qi. As such, they had been safe in the desert.

History showed that the Zhou Family had almost succeeded in surviving.

After all, with hundreds of thousands of people, they would leave their legacy no matter where they went.

Furthermore, they were very popular. It was hard for them to hide.

Li Mu travelled around the mountain for two weeks, blocking all possible exits.

He then looked for the last remaining entrance and headed in.

He quietly went down to the depths of the cave until he found a dry spot. There, he filled the cave with the gunpowder he had prepared.

He also poured the refined oil into the cave.

Meanwhile, deeper inside the cave, a large number of bats were hanging on the cave walls to rest.

Suddenly, a strange smell began to fill the air in the cold cave.

The oil that Li Mu had distilled was not very pure. Once the oil evaporated, it was contaminated by other substances in the air.

Bat dung was everywhere on the ground of the gloomy cave.

Because of this, the smell of oil was masked by the stench.

When Li Mu had burned down the previous bat cave, the bats inside didn’t even react.

This cave however, was filled with bats of the Perfected Person stage.

With their field activated, they could sense that something was different.

“There is something here!”

“Who poured this in our cave?”

As the liquid rushed down, the air was filled with a strange smell.

“It’s not urine!”

“Of course not! Who has so much urine?”

“Is someone collecting urine…”

“Let’s go up and take a look.”

Just above the cave, Li Mu activated his divine consciousness.

He had been discovered so quickly.

“System, put all the oil in.”

Whoosh!

The oil poured into the cave like a tsunami.

Several of the bats who were about to come out to take a look were washed back into the depths of the cave by the oil.

It was too late to do anything about it.

Many of the bats inside the cave were submerged by the oil.

As the oil rushed into the depths of the cave, it filled the cave with rumbling noises.

“What?”

Inside the cave, the red shadow frowned.

He felt the oil spray onto him.

“Huh?”

He touched the slick oil with his hand. It felt slippery.

“Is anyone there?” he roared.

No one responded.

The red figure rushed out of the cave just as the oil started to seep through the cracks of the cave and into the crypt below.

As the red figure appeared at the entrance of the cave, a bolt of lightning headed in his direction.

Click!

The red figure quickly dodged it.

The lightning struck the cave.

Boom!

The oil in the cave burst into blue flames.
