Chapter 403: Visit
“Tell me whenever you want to break up.” Yun Xiangxiang suddenly smiled evilly at Song Meng.
“Okay, girl. Thank you so much!” Song Meng looked grateful.
Yun Xiangxiang and Li Xiangling looked at each other. This girl is lying.
She didn’t realize she had fallen into the sweet trap of love. The day would probably come when she would beg Yun Xiangxiang, “Xiangxiang, for my happiness’ sake, I think you should tone down a bit on your work.”
“Now that you’re a couple, and you’re not just playing around with him, when are you going to treat us?” Li Xiangling wasn’t going to let her go smoothly.
Song Meng had made a lot of money over the holidays, so now she was at her most prosperous. If Li Xiangling didn’t take advantage of this, she would spend all of her money on love.
“Hey, we’re best friends, right?” Song Meng was going to pretend not to know what Li Xiangling was saying.
Yang Qi was in Yun Xiangxiang’s fan club, and he was in the same school and course as Yun Xiangxiang. Li Xiangling was in the fan club too, so they hung out a lot.
“Either you break up with him because you’re not serious about him, and we don’t mind if you’re just playing him.” Li Xiangling insisted, “Or you start making the arrangements now. Xiangxiang and I are busy.”
“I’m going to film in a week or so,” Yun Xiangxiang agreed, for she was busy.
“Then let’s go during the winter holidays then.” Song Meng was going to delay it as much as possible.
“Oh, sure. I think I have Yang Qi’s number lying here somewhere...” Li Xiangling took out her phone as she spoke.
Noticing this, Song Meng pounced on her to snatch the phone. “You’d better not date anyone, Li Xiangling, or I’ll make sure you pay for this.”
I’ll make things difficult for Li Xiangling’s boyfriend. Just wait, I’ll get even!
“Come and have a go if you think you’re hard enough.” Li Xiangling gave her a provocative look.
“Don’t back me into a corner. I have someone whom I can rely on now.”
“Go on and complain about me then. I’ll wait.”
“I’m calling now...”
And her friends started arguing again. Noticing that it was getting late, Yun Xiangxiang bade them good night before going to sleep.
After having breakfast on Saturday morning, Yun Xiangxiang, under He Wei’s company, went to Lufen Company for the contract signing.
He Wei had already gone through all the details, but they still needed to clarify in front of Yun Xiangxiang.
They touched on all the key points, so it was done in half an hour. Yun Xiangxiang was fine with everything. After the contract was signed, they made an appointment to shoot on Tuesday afternoon, for Yun Xiangxiang only had two lectures on Tuesday this semester.
“Want to visit your senior?” He Wei looked at the time after the contract was signed. He was going to see Xue Yu, so he asked Yun Xiangxiang together.
“Okay.” Yun Xiangxiang did not refuse.
Xue Yu was her senior, so they were closer compared to anyone else. Besides, she had never visited anyone at work until now. Even though she did see Wei Shanshan, that was technical because she needed to shoot the music video there.
Xue Yu was filming a film called “Money Wars.” It was already in its final stages, and wrapping up would be in a few days.
The final filming spot was in Beijing. He Wei was Xue Yu’s agent, so he brought Yun Xiangxiang into the filming venue without asking anyone.
They might be filming, but Yun Xiangxiang’s arrival attracted the attention of many, especially those who had never worked with her.
Xue Yu was still playing games when He Wei came, so he almost let his phone fall in shock when he heard about his agent’s arrival. Ignoring his progress in the game, he forced its shut down before meeting He Wei.
“Xiangxiang!” Xue Yu saw Yun Xiangxiang once he looked up. After tossing his phone to his assistant, he rushed toward Yun Xiangxiang.
“Are you surprised about my visit today?” Yun Xiangxiang would always feel amused whenever she saw He Wei. As she handed the ice-cream she was holding to him, she said, “I got your favorite flavor.”
Since she was coming for a visit, she had to bring something with her. Xue Yu liked the homemade ice-cream of this shop, so she had Coco line up to purchase it before bringing it here.
“Xiangxiang’s the best. It pays to dote on you.” Xue Yu took her inside after taking the ice-cream.
Since they didn’t have much there, Xue Yu could only pour some water into a couple of clean paper cups for Yun Xiangxiang and He Wei.
“How long until the wrapping up?” Yun Xiangxiang looked at the crew as they busied around, but there were no scenes involving Xue Yu.
“Today. My parts are over, and we’re just waiting for the last scene to be done.” Squinting, Xue Yu enjoyed his ice-cream.
“What’s this film about?” asked Yun Xiangxiang casually.
It could be something relating to money, judging from the film’s name. Can it be about business wars?
“It’s about traders.” Xue Yu’s answer surprised Yun Xiangxiang.
If traders were involved, that meant this film was about the stock market. There weren’t many films of this genre overseas, nor did those films receive any critical acclaim, for the job of a trader was not relatable to the masses.
Those who didn’t invest in stocks wouldn’t dabble in this profession, so filming it too professionally might cause confusion among the audience.
But if they didn’t do it professionally, they would be lambasted by the professionals, so this was a challenging film genre.
After chatting with Xue Yu, Yun Xiangxiang found out the protagonist was a securities agent who was climbing up his ranks in society. His dream was to attain his certificate, and he wanted to show his skills to the world. It told the story of how he started off as a man of justice who would never be corrupted by money, just to become a slave to money in the end.
The protagonist, who was played by Xue Yu, started off as a kind civilian, but he slowly changed into a cold capitalist. As expected, he was met with a grisly end.
After the shooting was over, Xue Yu took Yun Xiangxiang to meet the director, for a simple greeting was a mandatory custom.
The director for “Money Wars” was Chen Gu, one of the famous directors in China. His films didn’t break any box office records, but he was a man of many awards.
He loved to film thought-provoking films that talked about the events in society.
“Oh, I have a character here that needs someone to play as. She has a few scenes, so do you want to have a cameo?” Chen Gu invited Yun Xiangxiang once he saw her.
Yun Xiangxiang was stunned, for she didn’t expect to have a cameo during a visit at work.
Chen Gu told her that this character was the leader of the financial crime investigation unit. When the protagonist thought he had everything under control and could fly overseas with the embezzled money to live a good life, the team leader brought her team along to arrest him at the airport.
She only had one line and a few appearances. This was also the final scene Xue Yu had to film.
“I’ll try my best to meet your standards.” Yun Xiangxiang didn’t refuse.
This was a win-win situation. She would be collaborating with Xue Yu in “Flying Sky” soon, and if she were right, “Money Wars” would air earlier than “Flying Sky,” so this could act as a promotional film.
Besides, having a cameo was also giving her a chance to know Chen Gu. He might ask her to play as a character in a film if he had good scripts after this.
Even though there were only a few scenes, they still had to wait for the background to be set, so Yun Xiangxiang called Song Mian to inform him about this.
After figuring out the line and having lunch with everyone on the set, everything was set up. Yun Xiangxiang changed into her costume, applied some makeup, and took her prop before leading the extras into the scene.
