Chapter 1344: The New World Order 4

With the arrival of the two main lineages, the area was abuzz as the dignitaries felt that the world was really changing. It was one thing to look at it through streams and recordings - no matter how real they felt - and another to see such divine power firsthand.

You could be sure that even through the core members subdued the various countries and leaders, there were still heavy blocs of resistance. Most had switched from being overt to covert, planning to either strike during this summit or after it, utilizing various methods.

Right now, these factions could be split into three.

The first were the direct violence faction, backed by the Primordial Descendants. These were made up of the entire force of superpowered Primordial Descendants across the world, numbering more than 4,400 in total, each of them possessing transcendent power on the level of a tier 1 control master at least.

Truthfully, they weren’t willing to go all out like this, but their ancestors had reconnected with them just the day before after going radio silent, with Earth Mother Gaia personally giving the order.

They were to assemble in full force and do everything in their power to kill Draco and subordinates!

Gaia did not reveal the deaths of their progenitors, but the Primordials Descendants could naturally feel that something was amiss with this whole matter. However, they were basically raised and trained by the Primordials to be their attack dogs when needed, so how could they say no?

Currently, they were seated in the center itself, blending in with the various delegates, presidents, CEOs, and high-level officials with polite conversation, the undercurrent of power politics still lively at this time.

Among them, the hidden powerhouses of the gathering moved subtly, smiling amiably and raising champagne flutes in toast while their eyes flickered with heaviness and uncertainty.

These were the Primordial Descendant Leaders.

Darlington with his devilish charm and crimson gaze, Ms. Fasha clad in elegance and disdain, Gerald with his grandfatherly warmth hiding extreme superiority, and Wanda - regal yet bitter - always watching, always scheming.

Each of them was flanked by their cronies and they had carefully blended into the diplomatic proceedings as mere influential dignitaries.

For them, this goddamned summit was not for peace, but rather a battlefield where they would either cut the head of their foe... or have their own head cut off instead.

That is, until the true rulers arrived.

First, Shuangtian descended atop a jade lotus like a celestial sovereign returning to claim her empire. Her golden robes flowed with power, and behind her marched the Immortal Lineage like a pantheon of titans.

Then came Eva, radiant beyond mortal comprehension. She emerged from a sphere of pure light that banished shadows in a mile-wide radius, the sound of a divine choir accompanying each step as she glided down onto the steps of the Summit Center.

Within the reception halls, conversation halted.

The champagne stopped pouring and fingers trembled while all the fake smiles stiffened.

Gerald’s eyes locked on Eva’s form as he subconsciously lowered his head, the instinct of prey before a predator overwhelming his cultivated calmness.

Darlington’s mouth twitched. "It’s them... the wives. His wives."

Wanda said nothing, merely clutching the crystal pendant around her neck until it cracked.

Ms. Fasha’s complexion turned ashen, the memory of the battle footage replaying in her mind unbidden, now matched by the real presence of these beings.

These were not politicians or sub-human trash, these were forces of nature!

And for the first time in five centuries, the Primordial Descendants felt genuine and paralyzing fear that they only thought the presence of their ancestors could inflict upon them.

The second faction that had arrived today to cause trouble were the moderates. These were not people who advocated for direct conflict, but planned to use a mixture of persuasion, negotiation and mediation to achieve their goals.

That’s right, this group was made up of top CEOs, politicians and power brokers who were previously part of the ’hidden powers’ of the real world and were not happy that Draco was snatching food from their mouth.

Did he know how long they had been working to wrap the modern world around their finger???

For over a century goddammit!

It was 2070 now, but they had put their plans in motion since the early 20th century, from the very first world war!

While they had to hide in the dark, change the global reserve currency, infiltrate the strongest country in the world, and use the media to warp and distort facts to gain control, Draco actually just stood up and declared he was king, so that was it?!

How was that fair?!

Of course, while aggrieved and furious, they were extremely rational. The displays of power they had seen so far had shown them that this was no longer an issue of military power, as Draco had even negated a nuke on live television.

None of these moderates were superpowered people or had any special legacies. They were just rich and entrenched in the system through generations of inheritance, so that was basically all they had to bring to bear against Draco.

They assumed he was not planning to shatter the exiting system - flawed as it was - because restructuring the world from scratch was a herculean task that even God-like power could not achieve easily. Even if Draco were to sit at the top and his various people sat one level below, they would still need someone to sit one level below that until it dispersed downwards to the grassroots, right?

So since that would likely be them given their qualifications, their entrenchment in the system and the web of interests that tied the world, they planned to do a little bit of lobbying to make sure that Draco didn’t undermine them too much.

They had already ascertained that Draco was the ’hands-off’ leader type from their investigation on him, Umbra and the Purgatory group. This fellow sought power and pleasure, so he would likely fuck off back to his beloved digital world to continue exploring.

When that happened, he would leave someone in charge. Since his people also played that damned game and took it seriously, most would be locked within and have no awareness of what was going on outside, so that power would fall to them, right?

Then they would cleverly swap all the people from the positions below their own to their previous positions, taking every aspect of the ’pyramid’ that formed the world’s powers hierarchy post-Draco.

It was then that they would begin to undermine him and slowly erode his influence until humanity stood with them, then they could either purge or exile this fellow!

Hahahaha, perfect!

But sigh... dreams are so beautiful, but reality is just so cruel...

Because what they saw today shattered not just their plans, but their sense of self.

The arrival of the Zeus Lineage had already struck a sour note in their hearts.

When Luke descended like a conquering pirate with his band of ancient Greek demigods in tow, some of the moderates had laughed nervously. Sure, they had muscles and power but they were crass, arrogant, and disorganized.

That could be exploited.

But then the Buddha Lineage arrived, and a few of the suits began to sweat.

The presence of Kiran and his venerable monk entourage did not announce dominance with thunder, but with eerie serenity. Yet those with any spiritual sensitivity felt their souls shrink from the pressure of that bodhisattva projection.

That wasn’t a show of strength, it was a warning that they could be mind-controlled at any time.

When the Merlin Lineage rode in next, the room jolted with suppressed gasps.

The phantom cavalry, the mystic aura of magic, the strange power flowing from Misery and his bizarre family... all of it felt too real. These weren’t reclusive mystics from some European mountain, they were an ancient monarchy that had been playing at being normal humans for centuries.

And they were not alone, the descendants of mythological legends introduced one by one.

But it was the Immortal Lineage’s entrance that truly broke the crowd.

The sight of Shuangtian alone, descending in godly majesty upon a jade lotus, her aura manifesting ancient characters and laws in the air, was beyond the scope of every summit attendee’s comprehension.

Many simply dropped their wine glasses while others could only stare with mouths agape, eyes wide with disbelief.

Some muttered prayers - which were heard by the speechless Eva - while others checked the exits, only to realize with horror that there was nowhere to run.

And finally, when the Radiant Lineage made its entrance, led by Eva Morningstar in her full divine glory, the moderates’ will simply collapsed.

A few dropped to their knees without realizing, weeping tears of joy at being bathed in the Goddess’s presence and becoming her devout followers.

Some others with stronger wills simply stood paralyzed, unable to breathe properly as the resplendent light that rolled off Eva like a tidal wave made every evil plan they had prepared burn to ash in their hearts.

My Brother in Christ, these were men who had once controlled entire economies and women who had orchestrated the greatest coups. These were scions of wealth with bloodlines stretching back to feudal empires!

Yet, all of them were now reduced to trembling ants before a divine empress and celestial goddess, both of whom could raise the dead with a thought and erase nations with a glance.

The world wasn’t changing, it had already changed.

They now understood that they couldn’t change history, they were just here to bear witness and receive what scraps they could beg for.

The third and final faction were the Fellows in the Dark. This was not really a concerted group, but was basically made up of those who were capable of force but wanted to use darker means like assassination, subterfuge, espionage, sabotage and kidnapping to achieve their goals against Draco, acknowledging that they lacked the raw power to compete with him.

There were remnants from various subdued countries, pieces of fragmented groups like Superhuman leftovers part of the science Draco and Eva slaughtered who wanted revenge, parts of The Cartel that were controlled by Maria that wanted to rescue their Lady Boss, The Cardinals Mafia group which Cherry and June used to belong to, and some weak purity Pangu hit squads who had been out of town during the raid on the Pangu Estate.

Draco and Eva had made their fair share of enemies over the years, so it was not surprising that the ’loose sand’ had managed to find each other and gathered into a semi-functional group that all had the same goal.

Shuangtian was mostly new and hadn’t yet racked up a debt of evil and mayhem, so she was clean. However, as part of the Evil Trio, she still had to bear the crimes and pay the price, along with anyone else that Draco loved and cared about!

Ironically, this faction, while the weakest in both political power and martial power. They were weaker than the Primordial Descendants - who could actually muster a reasonable fighting force - on top of being weaker than the moderates - who actually had sizable wealth and influence - so calling them the ’loose sand’ faction was not wrong.

However, despite this, their strength actually lay in their extremely strong will and conviction!

Even with the entrances so far, with even Shuangtian and Eva descending with such power that all couldn’t breathe, their eyes remained bloodshot, hatred carrying them through. It did not matter even if they dragged the moon out of the sky and used it as a ride to come over, they still wouldn’t back down!

It was do or die and they would rather do than die!

This was what carried them forward and made their loose connection solidify as they banded together more openly to resist the incoming negative pressure together, unintentionally deepening their bond and increasing their chances of success.

That was until ’he’ arrived.
