Guide to raise my cutie husbands

Chapter 1826 - 1826: Trouble for sauce

“What now?” Master Peng looked at his wife and asked with a worried look on his face. “I wanted to serve these dishes to your guests but it seems like we will have to change the plans.”

His wife was working on a new project and she needed the higher-ups to agree with her idea or else she would lose her credits as well as the position that she had won with her own hard work. After all, there were a lot of people who were waiting for his wife to make a mistake so that they could gobble up her power and status.

The mer wanted to make use of these dishes and win the hearts of the high-ranking officials such that his wife would be able to take control of the market situation.

Who would have thought that the magic was not in the hand of the chef that they hired but the sauces that were given to them by one of their workers?

“This won’t do; I am afraid,” Madam Peng shook her head and told her husband, “I told my superiors that I was going to serve them some really delicious food. Something that they have never tasted before; now that such a thing has happened, do you think I can change the plans all of a sudden?”

She then raised her head and looked at the chef who worked for her family before saying, “Are you sure that the magic lies in the sauce and not the ingredients that you purchase? Maybe the farmers who sell the vegetables changed their stock? Try to find out more about the situation.”

Upon hearing her words, the chef smiled at her and shook his head before replying, “Madam, I assure you that the vegetables are the same and so are the rest of the ingredients. You can investigate the situation as much as you want, but the truth will not change. This is something that I will stand by.”

“The ingredients purchased from the Bo and Bun mall are different from others. Thus, unless you get your hands on the same sauce as before, I am afraid that no matter how many vegetable sellers or butchers you change, nothing will happen.”

Even though the chef did not say it clearly, Madam Peng knew that he was telling her when he still had time.

“What should we do now?” Master Peng asked. They did not purchase anything from the mall because they thought that the hype was just a facade to fool others. How could there be such a good thing where everyone would die to buy things from the mall?

Wasn’t it all vegetable and meat? Why would they buy vegetables and meat for more than ten taels when they could do it in half tael? Only now did they realise that there was something wrong with their thinking!

But when they thought about it more clearly, they realised that it was not their fault either.

Who would have thought that there was indeed something different about the mall?

However, now that the situation was like this, they had no choice but to buy the sauces as well as the meat and vegetables.

Thus, the two of them sent their servants to the mall and waited for them to bring catties of vegetables and meat. Who would have thought that their servants would return empty-handed?

“What is the meaning of this? Why did you not bring anything with you?” Master Peng asked angrily, Are these rotten servants rebelling now? How dare they!

When the servants were scolded, they felt unjust and immediately burst into complaints.

“What are you getting angry at us for, master?”

“That’s right, the mall is really busy and crowded. We couldn’t even put a step on the floor and were pushed back and forth.”

“It was a task to even enter the mall. Master, why did you not tell us that there was such a big line? If you have, then we would have gone to line up in the morning.”

“You didn’t even give us a Master or VIP card! What could we buy without it?”

“The entire stock was finished before we could even get close to it!”

Hearing the complaints of the servants, Master Peng was stunned. Everything went out of stock? How could it be? It was not even noon yet!

He narrowed his eyes and then asked suspiciously, “Are you sure? You are not lying to me right, because if you are, I am telling you—you all will be fired! “

The servants frowned upon hearing his words; they rolled their eyes before one of them said, “Then you might as well fire us because we are speaking the truth! The stock was already out of stock when we arrived at the mall. Master, you should have taken a look at the popularity of the shop before sending us there!”

As soon as the mer stopped speaking, Master Peng started fretting. It seemed like the servants were not telling lies. Worried and anxious, he rushed to where his wife was.

“What’s the matter?” Madam Peng asked when she saw that her husband had rushed inside her office without knocking. She could not understand what was going on with her husband; clearly, her husband was really a skilled and gentle mer. He knew how to give her space and how to act with elegance. What was he doing, rushing in her space without knocking?

“Madam, it’s terrible!” Master Peng sighed as he told everything that happened to his wife. Once Madam Peng finished listening she was stunned as she did not expect such a thing to happen. What kind of mall was that woman running that the stock was running out before noon?

“Are you sure?” She asked her husband, who rolled his eyes and then said to her, “Do you think that I would lie to you at this moment?”

Madam Peng understood that her husband was not lying or teasing her and became worried as well. She pursed her lips and then said to her husband, “I will go and ask Su Yun to ask her husband and bring ten or so jars of sauces. She told me that her husband was working so it should be easy for him to get his hands on the sauce jars.”

If she had known that the sauce would become this popular, then she would have asked Su Yun to bring her a bunch of it, back then she thought that the poor woman was handing her something useless to suck up to her. Who would have thought that Su Yun had her hands on something so good?

If only—

Madam Peng was not the only one who was filled with regret.

Su Yun’s older sister who never showed her a good face was also filled with the same regret. When her sister came to look for her and acted all smug and haughty by handing her a jar of sauce and even told her that it was a jar that cost her ten taels of silver, she refused to accept it and thought that her sister was only playing her as a fool because she did not want to pay back the money.

She even asked her if she wanted any more jars of sauce. But she, being a fool, refused!

Who would have thought the jar of sauce was such a miraculous thing? Just because her daughter gave this jar to her lover.

That mer was the son of an official who agreed to marry her! He even told her daughter that as long as she was willing to put this jar of sauces as his betrothal gift, he was willing to marry her and he was not even asking for the same groom price as before!

It was such a great thing but unfortunately they had no more sauce jar in their hands.

“Why did you not buy it!? Your sister is such a miser; it was through sheer luck that she came to share something so good with us, and you refused to take it? How did you become such a fool?”

“You even refused to take something this good!” her husband scolded her. “You should have directly snatched every jar that she had in her hands when she was here to give it to you Now this is good

! We don’t even know if she has any more sauce jars in her hands or not.”

“You should have taken all the ten jars from her now. What will we do now that the son-in-law has asked for twenty jars?”

Madam Su was also helpless in the face of her husband’s anger. She could only say in a coaxing voice, “How was I supposed to know that she brought such a good thing? I thought that she was trying to escape the debt that she owns us? Do you think that I am a fortune teller and that I will know that she brought something good?”
