After finding out about the high-grade divine artifact that the noble families use to make sure that members of their families haven’t been mentally manipulated by others and also use to check the memories of others, they went ahead to do research about it.

They went to the Mindscape to do the research because the books they gained from their previous employment didn’t have information about pathways and divine abilities past rank 6.

The Mindscape being the refuge of telepaths and all made it easy for them to find information about the pathway of telepaths. It was expensive, but they found out a lot of information about the rank 7 divine ability of the pathway of the telepath.

The first information they gained was that the rank 7 divine ability of the pathway of the telepath is called Mental Domination. It is a divine ability that can break past the resistance of the surface of the mind to affect the second layer of memories beneath it.

The rank 3 divine ability of the pathway of the telepath called Mind Read can only affect the surface of the mind. This is why it can only read what a target is thinking. It can’t access the memories of a target.

For the Mental Domination divine ability, on the other hand, the ability to read memories is just a single thing that the legendary divine ability can do.

Mental Domination can also be used to edit memories and even delete them. This is the most prominent information that they gained.

They also learned that legendary telepaths can manipulate memories so well that they can create virtual substances and experiences that feel better than normal because they can manipulate memories.

When they heard this, they finally understood how legends could make good food in the virtual world. They believe that they too would be able to do it if they could copy memories of food and inject them into mind fragments for others to enjoy.

They found this interesting, but it also reinforced their decision not to eat anything offered by a legend.

On the positive side, the power of Mental Domination gave them solutions to difficult things that they can’t achieve currently.

For example, in their current situation, it was the older fate weaver of the two of them who managed to survive the advancement to rank 4, and they are wondering why.

If they had Mental Domination, they would be able to confirm if age and amount of life experiences affect the success of assimilation of divine flesh and the resilience to temptation.

They intend to confirm this hypothesis by deleting the memories of a young person and then copying the memories of an older person into it.

This way they will be able to have two different people with identical memories and see if they behave equally when assimilating divine flesh.

If it works, they could also copy the mind of someone that they have brainwashed for a long time onto the blank mind of another person. This will save them time and energy, as they won’t need to brainwash every single slave they want to advance.

On the extreme side, they could also copy their memories and pass them onto a human to see how that will affect the mental resilience of that human.

When they found out about the capabilities of the Mental Domination divine ability, they became extra cautious of anything related to it, including legends and high-grade divine abilities.

But the things they learned also interested them. So they began coming up with the many things that they want to do.

Their anticipation for the rank 7 divine ability increased further when they discovered that the divine ability reminded them of Legion-0 and its ability to overwrite other beings and convert them into small versions of themselves.

After reminiscing about their past future, they set out to put their new slave to work.

First of all, they gave her a new name. They called her Web Hammer. Next they had her walk around their base, checking for danger.

She spent two days making sure that the base was secure. What she discovered was that the base itself wasn’t cursed or affected by the divine ability of other pathways.

This was good news for them. The bad news came when they asked her to meet every member of the gang.

She met every member of the gang under the guise of an interview for a promotion. But what she was really doing was using her rank 1 divine ability called Predict to check if they were a danger to the gang.

What she discovered was that many of the members of the gang were spies for other people. Some of these spies were just people being paid to expose the secrets of the gang. These were the harmless few who were spies because they would do anything for money.

But a few of the exposed members were spies who infiltrated the gang for the sole purpose of learning their secrets and sabotaging the gang from within.

Their new slave was very helpful. Thanks to her, they were able to learn a lot of critical information about their gang. One such piece of information made them order her to use her rank 4 divine ability on the whole base.

They learned that one of the members of their gang wasn’t a rank 1 warrior like he claimed. Instead, he had been using a divine artifact to pretend that he was a rank 1 warrior when, in fact, he was a propagator of disorder.

A propagator of disorder is a godclad of the pathway of disorder. This is the same pathway as the future true god of the Wessex kingdom, so it can’t be underestimated at all.
