Gravity Mage with Level-Up System
Chapter 1358 - 1358: Read deal or just pretenseFrom MC’s Perspective:
I came to the lobby area. Then I saw someone sitting on the sofa. Upon hearing my footsteps, he turned towards me.
I found this person to be pale, but his eyes were bright. I didn’t need to guess. He must be another wizard seed.
Wilfred Cox was stunned. He didn’t expect an unknown person to come from inside. When it came to the Silver Tower, he was aware of everyone.
So he was confused for a second. Then suddenly a thought struck his mind. He stood up and looked at the person with a serious expression.
“Are you Vincent Carey?” Wilfred Cox asked.
Hearing that, I revealed a bright smile on my face.
“You must be Wilfred Cox. I heard you have been asking to see me. I wonder what this is all about?” I replied.
Wilfred Cox’s eyes flickered. He had thought that the newcomer would be nervous, but the opposite was happening. The newcomer looked rather confident.
“Yes, I have been wanting to see you, especially when I heard you defeated Jason Nicholson,” Wilfred Cox said. His eyes were trying to probe the newcomer.
On the other hand, I was aware of his gaze, but then the system would block his every attempt.
“How is he?”
“Did you meet him?” I asked, standing casually.
Wilfred Cox’s mouth twitched. He had come here to meet him. It was all because of Tom Doyle’s provocation earlier.
Now, his mind was blank. He couldn’t judge the newcomer. Seeing how effortlessly he was talkative, Wilfred felt something was wrong.
“Shouldn’t the newcomer be aware of my illusion magic? Why is he speaking to me casually?” Wilfred thought.
“If you are free tomorrow, I would appreciate it if you visited my cafe. It’s called Rosewood Cafe. I’m happy to arrange a welcome party for you,” Wilfred said bluntly.
Hearing that, my eyes flashed with curiosity. Since I’m not weak anymore, I think it will be wonderful to meet new people. So I chose to agree.
“Alright, I’ll visit the Rosewood Cafe tomorrow,” I replied.
“Good, then I’m leaving,” Wilfred uttered before turning around to leave. Things had taken an unexpected turn.
He was supposed to challenge him to a duel, but after seeing the newcomer in person, he had invited him to the celebration.
When Wilfred Cox left the place, a hint of relief flashed in my eyes.
“That was not bad.”
A female voice sounded behind me.
I knew it was Manager Lara. I didn’t even sense her presence. A trace of complexity appeared. At the end of the day, she is a Magic Lord. Some things can’t be hidden from her.
I turned around and saw her.
Lara smiled and said, “I felt something change in you, but I couldn’t pinpoint it earlier. Now that I have watched the meeting between the two of you…”
“I think you are not going to hide from them anymore,” she added.
Hearing that, I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. The change in me was thanks to the outer space relic. It has improved my talent and updated the system at the same time. But these things I can’t tell anyone.
So, I replied, “My appraisal job is going well. I’m not lacking resources. I have been thinking about going outside to purchase some items.”
Lara understood. She knew this was going to happen, but she didn’t expect it to happen so soon.
“It’s okay, but be careful of that person,” Lara advised before leaving.
“Meteor Supreme,” my eyes narrowed.
I can’t openly show hostility before finding out the backers behind him. Then I collected my thoughts before going towards the room.
Outside,
Wilfred Cox walked out of the Silver Tower. When he appeared outside, his face showed no joy or sadness. Its expression showed uncertainty.
Tom Doyle, who had been monitoring secretly, was stunned. He didn’t know how long he had been patiently waiting, but he had not waited to see the uncertain expression on Wilfred Cox.
He then saw Wilfred Cox entering his flying car, leaving the place shortly afterward.
“What’s going on?” Tom asked himself.
He had thought of countless possibilities. Then he came to the conclusion that Wilfred Cox might not have seen the newcomer.
“Yes, it must be,” Tom Doyle uttered.
“I want to see how long the Silver Tower can shield the newcomer. The turtle has to show its head one day,” he thought.
Then he glanced at the Silver Tower before walking away from the place.
On the other hand, Wilfred’s head was full of thoughts. Today, he couldn’t make an accurate judgment of Vincent Carey.
But he felt one thing for sure, which was the strength of the newcomer. He thought the newcomer, Vincent Carey, was really strong. That’s why he was able to speak to him with that confidence.
Then he smiled, thinking about tomorrow.
“I will check tomorrow whether he is the real deal or just a pretense,” Wilfred said to himself.
Meanwhile,
Manager Lara spoke to Lord Charlotte and gave her today’s update. She also informed her about the small meeting between Vincent Carey and Wilfred Cox.
In that call, after hearing about Wilfred’s invite, Charlotte smiled and saw through the little thoughts of Wilfred Cox.
Then she asked her to warn Vincent Carey not to believe Wilfred Cox. Lara understood that the invite was not made with good intentions.
After the call, Lara sent a message to Vincent Carey.
…
Room:
In the room, I spent more than 20 minutes in the bath before coming out. Then I saw the unread messages sent by Manager Lara.
I raised my eyebrows in surprise. We had seen each other not long ago. Then I opened the message to read it. When I was done reading, I understood what this was all about.
Manager Lara suspected that Wilfred Cox was up to no good. He might do something to harm me. Then I sent a reply back saying, “I will be careful.”
Moreover, it was important for me to register that I’m not going to receive any disrespect or bullying from anyone.
