Yang Yi shared all the information he knew with Suna, including the glacier's area and the frozen ship trapped within it.
"I'm planning to take a closer look at that ship. There should be more clues on it. It couldn’t have ended up in the glacier without reason. It must’ve been sailing when something happened, and then it got frozen in place," Yang Yi explained his reasoning.
He wanted to figure out the cause so he could be prepared if he encountered a similar situation.
Suna didn’t object and even expressed her desire to go along, but Yang Yi firmly refused.
His reasoning was solid and direct: Suna wasn’t agile enough and was likely to get lost in the fog, and her archery would be difficult to use effectively in such conditions. It would be much safer for Yang Yi to go alone, especially since he had plenty of safeguards to ensure his survival.
After deciding, Yang Yi tested the terrain first by launching a few stones with a catapult. They hit the glacier’s surface, creating small craters and scattering ice shards.
This showed the ice layer was very thick, making it completely safe to walk on. The main concerns were the dense white fog and any potential hidden dangers.
The fog severely obstructed visibility. Without using the third eye, visibility was limited to just a few metres. Using a torch extended it to over ten.
Finding the frozen ship in the fog was nearly impossible without a clear target. Only Yang Yi, with his ability to see through the fog using the third eye, could manage it.
Yang Yi checked the temperature.Near the glacier, it had already dropped to -33°C, and venturing deeper into it would only bring colder temperatures.
The environment inside the glacier was likely to be extremely harsh.
With this in mind, Yang Yi began preparing.
He checked his current status:
Sanity: 98/100
Stamina: 92/100
Health: 100/100
All values were close to full.
He geared up with his fire-resistant woolen suit, sharkskin wetsuit, down jacket, scarf, spiderweb gloves, and fur-lined boots, layering chainmail beneath the down jacket.
As for the captain's coat, once covered by the hood and down jacket, its attribute bonuses became ineffective, so there was no point in wearing it.
Once ready, Yang Yi manoeuvred the Nightmare Star to a suitable spot to dock.
The ice protruded slightly, making it ideal for landing on the glacier.
After double-checking his potions and essential supplies, Yang Yi climbed down.
As soon as his boots touched the glacier, a chilling wind blew from the front, carrying fine ice shards that stung his face.
Yang Yi adjusted his scarf to cover his face, leaving only his eyes exposed.
The temperature had dropped to -35°C, but he could still bear it.
Whoosh!
A burning arrow landed at Yang Yi’s feet.
It was a wooden arrow shot by Suna, coated with the oil of pale worms, which allowed it to burn for a long time without extinguishing.
The purpose was to provide Yang Yi with a fire source.
Yang Yi pulled out a pre-prepared torch from his worm ring and lit it.
The torch, which he had made five of, was wrapped in fabric soaked in pale worm oil, allowing for an extended burn time.
Since Yang Yi couldn’t rely on the third eye indefinitely, carrying a torch was necessary. Without it, his visibility would shrink to just two or three metres.
Once everything was in order, Yang Yi signaled an “OK” gesture towards the Nightmare Star behind him and, holding the torch, walked into the fog.
The icy wind howled.
The wind on the glacier was stronger than that on the sea and bone-chillingly cold.
Yang Yi pressed onwards cautiously, keeping a close eye on the temperature.
The deeper he went, the lower the temperature dropped. Soon, it was nearing -40°C.
The source of the extreme cold seemed to be the frozen ship, located northeast.
Remaining vigilant, Yang Yi moved slowly. His limited visibility made it essential to avoid any sudden threats, such as creatures lurking in the ice.
Fortunately, there were no dangers along the way, though the cold and wind made him uncomfortable.
At temperatures below -40°C, even his fire-resistant woolen suit and down jacket couldn’t fully keep out the cold.
When Yang Yi finally approached the ship, the temperature had dropped to nearly -45°C.
The ship itself likely harbored temperatures below -50°C!
“I need to act quickly,” Yang Yi murmured.
He lifted the eyepatch covering his left eye and began climbing the side of the ship’s bow.
He had chosen that spot because the ship’s captain had died on the bow’s deck.
The man’s body was frozen solid, completely naked, clutching the helm as he had in life. His expression was one of defiance, as if frozen in time, his arrogance undiminished even in death.
It must have happened very suddenly, as there was no sign of pain on the man’s face — he seemed to be continuing his fiery determination even in death.
Surrounding him were three large, extinguished bonfires, their surfaces frozen over. Among the remnants were pale worm tentacles, partially burned but now encased in thick layers of frost.
Yang Yi stood on the bow of the ship, not moving immediately. Instead, he swept his gaze across the deck for a quick survey.
Then, with a flick of his right hand, he launched a dart directly into the eye socket of the ship’s captain.
There was no blood — only the sound of shattering, as if the dart had struck a stone statue. The impact caused half of the man’s head to crack open, scattering a shower of icy fragments.
The captain, frozen solid into an ice sculpture, had become as brittle as fragile porcelain.
Yang Yi waited for five seconds in place, ensuring that nothing else would emerge before cautiously approaching the corpse. As he moved closer, he picked up two glowing orbs lying on the ground.
They had only just dropped, leading Yang Yi to a surprising realisation.
Though the captain had been frozen, he wasn’t actually dead until Yang Yi’s dart delivered the killing blow.

Yang Yi retrieved the glowing orbs and pulled the dart from the ice sculpture’s head, causing another portion of the captain’s skull to shatter and fall to the ground.
At the same time, he gained more information about this individual.
【Name: Ma Hou】【Description: Frozen corpse】
Yang Yi glanced at the frost forming on his gloves. The temperature of Ma Hou’s body…must be unimaginably low!
The entire deck was covered in ice. Even with his fur-lined boots, Yang Yi felt as if he were barefoot on the frozen surface.
His earlier estimation of -50°C was likely incorrect — if anything, the ship’s temperature was probably even lower.
Yang Yi carefully inspected the deck but found nothing particularly unusual.
It appeared as though it had encountered an extraordinarily frigid cold wave that extinguished the bonfires, froze the ship solid, the captain, and even the surrounding sea.
As for the source of the cold wave, Yang Yi had yet to uncover any clues.
【You have claimed ownership of the Courage. Deconstruction is now available】
The notification about deconstruction indicated there were no other players on the ship.
Yang Yi headed towards the cabin. The door was ajar and bore scorch marks on its surface.
Suddenly, a faint, peculiar crackling sound came from inside the cabin.
Zzzt zzzt zzzt!
At the same time, a blue, ghostly glow shot out from within, rushing straight towards Yang Yi.
