[Beverly Hills — 7th December]

After getting Lucia to their destination and telling her everything she needed to know to contact Yui as fast as possible, Adam was driving quietly while whistling to himself.

"Seems like I lost the bet."

[Heh. I am someone very expansive to take on a date. I hope you are ready for it.]

"Hahah. I will take note of that. Let's go fancy all the way to the top. I can even take you to another country if you wish for it."

Adam, for now, could only fly comfortably at Mach 1 speed or slightly above it using his telekinetic powers in conjunction with his power over gravity. But this didn't mean that he couldn't go at supersonic speed if he really wished to do so. It would just be slightly straining on his body and mind. The maintenance was really steep.

'Or we could just take a private jet I guess.'

He chuckled before throwing a middle finger at one bastard who was making too much noise behind them using the horn of their car.

"Kiss my ass, fucking bitch!"

[Oh? What a bold proposal you have made there. Though I think I will avoid doing something like that on the very first date.]

"Pfft! Hahah~! Sorry. For starters, I was just cursing at one bastard, and secondly… So would you just kiss my ass later then?"

He raised an eyebrow jokingly to which she answered in good humor,

[I guess I should definitely be more careful with my words when discussing with an ex-law student after all.]

"A future Lawyer you mean."

[Oh? Are you still going to continue your studies?]

"Nah. Dropped out from my school already. But I do plan to do the bar and become a lawyer soon enough. I might not need something like that but I spent nearly 20 years in school for this shit. No way am I ending things without even taking on the final challenge, the culmination and goal of my 20 years of struggle."

It wasn't a matter of necessity nor logic. More a measure of having a closure and something to fall back to when needed.

Otherwise, he could easily just create a fake diploma and be done with it. He was sure that Hacker could do something like that as easily as yawning or some other easy shit and make the whole degree so legitimate no one would be able to notice it in their entire lives.

[I see. I guess we all need such a form of closure.]

"True. Well, I am going to leave you here. I sent all the information I gleaned from Boris. I am sure you will take care of the rest."

[Count on me. You won't be disappointed. Bye]

"See ya."

He hung up and sighed a little. This was one thing done for them. Now he needed to prepare for his date.

Looking down at himself he mused a little before remembering something important.

— Natasha was a werewolf, right?

"Oh…"

Natasha already knew that he had many relationships and was far from being his exclusive partner. Even so, going on a date with her while having the scent of mating with another woman would be quite disrespectful to the other party, to say the least.

"Now then what to do?"

He was pretty sure even more showers would not do the trick for him as werewolves had pretty sensitive noses. She would immediately sniff him out or understand that there was something wrong due to the over usage of soap and other body wash that he would be using to get the scent of sex out of his body.

"Hum. This might be a good experiment."

He cloaked the car in a standard illusion and started changing strack while using his phone.

What he searched for was quite simple.

— Nearest active Volcano.

Burning himself to death by jumping into a lava pit might be a little too exaggerated but this was the best moment to test if any foreign scent stayed on him when his body was reset by the usage of his curse.

Then it was also a moment to train his fire resistance and obviously getting rid of the scent was a net positive to all of this.

3 in 1. What was there to not like about this master plan of his?

As for the pain? He would just have to shut out his pain receptors and numb his mind. He was becoming quite adept at manipulating his physical sensations already.

[Natasha's mansion]

Currently, Natasha's heart was beating a mile a minute in anticipation. She was sitting calmly, which was very unlike her usual self, and even let Aleksandra deal with her hair and make her as pretty as possible. She was not the type of person to doll herself so but today was an exception. She had to look perfect for him. To make her date a success.

"Natasha. You will be the prettiest girl in the world once I am done with you."

Aleksandra was moving with a clear feeling of purpose in every single action of hers. She wanted to make Natasha the prettiest she had ever been in her entire life, just for this magical moment. She wished with all her heart that this day would be remembered by her for as long as she lived.

She knew very well that after this night, in a little more than 48 hours, they would have a fixed result of Natasha's eventual Fate. Whether or not she would rise to become an Alpha or just be consumed by her inner self and die at the hands of her own parents was something that would become quite clear by that point.

This realization made Aleksandra stop for a moment but she managed to keep her expression from showing the inner turmoil that was bubbling inside her mind like an active volcano. A gentle smile was still adorned on her face as she masked all her feelings.

Natasha though was not blind to the situation and was able to actively understand what was going on in her dearest maid's mind.

"I will not die."

"Oh?"

Aleksandra was surprised by the sudden confident words that leaked out of Natasha's lips. Natasha had been the most pessimistic about her whole situation until now. So why then was she able to change tracks and have such an optimistic outlook about her fate?

"Adam said he would not let me die."

"Ah…"

She was speechless. Absolutely speechless at the nonsensical remark that flew out of Natashsa's lips. Not knowing whether or not she should voice her fears and opinions, she was greeted with a chuckle that escaped Natasha's lips, almost as though she had seen through the very thoughts she was harboring in her mind.

"I know what you are thinking. He is most likely saying this because he doesn't understand the gravity of my situation. There are high chance his endeavor will fail and we also have a traitor in our group. It could be him, it could be someone closer. It could be my family. If the traitor reveals himself or herself at the right moment, my mental state would definitely collapse for the worse and The Wolf inside me could devour me right at that instant if not earlier."

Natasha had an accurate understanding of her current condition and her eventual fate. She didn't really have a choice in the matter here. The last few days had been filled with nothing but introspection on her part— to better understand herself and deal with her inner self to further enhance her chances of survival.

This was why she could also understand that her chances of succeeding were incredibly low, downright abysmal even. After all, unlike other Natural Alphas out there she wouldn't just face her natural darkness. But the very darkness of the Mighty Fenrir themselves.

Even if it was just a small part of the mythical beast. There was absolutely no denying the situation that was plaguing her self. The situation she would have to face in less than 2 days' time.

"This is why I decided to stop worrying and put all my trust in Adam. Since I cannot believe in myself, I will believe in the one who believes I can live with all his heart. I will believe in the Adam who believes in me. I will just… believe… I choose to do it."

Aleksandra smiled softly as she started working on Natasha's hair again with elegance and grace, "I am ashamed. I had already given up on you. But it seems like the Young Master has made a different choice. He has already set his mind on making you survive through this ordeal no matter what."

Knowledge was power and ignorance was indeed bliss. Sometimes though, this knowledge could also become a deadly poison that makes you rot from the inside out. The logic born from the knowledge of the inevitable or the absolute often made us give up, and stopped ourselves from acting out when there was a small ray of hope still left.

This was why people who succeeded were either smart people who prepared for everything or just dumb people who didn't fear acting and didn't let reality and common sense stop them from achieving what they desired.

"Then. I will also place my trust in him too, I guess."

Aleksandra also wanted to believe and though she did not quite believe in Adam as much as Natasha did, she still believed in her Sasha.

'Fufufu~ This is quite the amusing chain.'

She believed in Natasha who believed in Adam who believed in Himself.

Then all she needed to do was make her as pretty as possible for the upcoming event.
