Narlyev watched as Fang Heng fell deep into thought, assuming he was weighing the pros and cons of their partnership. He patiently gave him time to consider, waiting quietly at the side.
Before long, Fang Heng lifted his head and said, “I’ve thought it over, and I agree to cooperate.”
“Ha ha ha!” Narlyev laughed heartily upon hearing this, “Fang Heng, with your collaboration, I believe we will definitely succeed in finding the Book of Greleng.”
“Before we take action, I want to take another look at the sealed Gluttony seed and conduct some tests on the magic array targeting it. After all, I understand the demonic seed quite well.”
“Of course.”
“I’ll need an open area and the materials to set up the magic array, and it would be best to have someone assist me.”
“No problem at all.”
Narlyev nodded to a subordinate nearby, “Ge Tianyu, pause your work for now. Mr. Fang Heng has some requests that we should accommodate.”
“Understood!”Ge Tianyu replied respectfully, turning to Fang Heng. “I’m Ge Tianyu, the head of security for the headquarters. I’ll assist you with all the necessary preparations.”
“Thank you,” Fang Heng responded.
“Narlyev,” he continued, “I still need to make some special arrangements for tomorrow’s invasion of the conservatives. I’ll take my leave for now. If you need anything urgent, feel free to reach out.”
“Sure.”
…
Half an hour later, Fang Heng and his group were led to a large laboratory diagonally opposite the demonic seed lab. Since Fang Heng needed space to set up the magic array, this lab had recently been cleared out.
Using the excuse of needing special materials for the magic array, they waited until Ge Tianyu was temporarily dismissed. As soon as they had some privacy, Luo Xu and the others gathered around Fang Heng.
Yu Jiayuan, looking concerned, whispered, “Fang Heng, do you think they’re being truthful? I have a feeling something’s off. They don’t seem very reliable.”
“I know, and I have a plan,” Fang Heng replied, glancing at the mission hint.
Whether Narlyev was telling the truth was irrelevant. What mattered now was to test if Abe Akaya could absorb the powers of other demonic seeds.
Moments later, there was a knock at the door. Ge Tianyu entered, accompanied by several staff members carrying the materials Fang Heng had requested.
“Mr. Fang, these are the materials you needed. We have them ready for you. If you require anything else, please let us know at any time.”
With a nod, Ge Tianyu stepped aside, observing and monitoring. He was curious about what Fang Heng intended to do with these items.
Was he setting up a magic array here?
If anything unusual occurred, he would report it to Narlyev immediately.
Fang Heng was aware of Ge Tianyu’s scrutiny but didn’t mind. He approached the materials, checked them over, and then began arranging them on the cleared floor of the laboratory.
Abe Akaya’s summoning magic array was at a high level, and without the assistance of a zombie clone, it took more than three hours to complete.
During this time, Ge Tianyu and his subordinates, along with a few research lab staff, stood by and watched. Finally, when Fang Heng stood up, they all turned their attention to him.
“Alright, it’s about time to start.”
Fang Heng stood over the magic array, quickly pressing his hands together.
“Condense!”
As his mental strength flowed into the array, a crimson light slowly emerged.
“Chi, chi, chi…”
Dark red vines began to slither out from the broken space of the magic array, rapidly enveloping the entire area.
Ge Tianyu’s eyes widened in surprise.
What was this? A special plant?
Abe Akaya quickly connected to the Watts game world, extending the vines outward.
Fang Heng paused his movements and turned to Ge Tianyu, “Is it alright if I try to absorb and guide the Gluttony seed’s power?”
Ge Tianyu glanced at the magic array and signaled to his subordinates to inform the president, “Fang Heng, our original plan was to extract the Gluttony seed’s energy and immediately channel it into the research room for redistribution. The current lab isn’t equipped for that, and modifying the lab ports will take some time.”
“There’s no need for that. I have a better idea. Lead the way, let’s go see the Gluttony seed.”
“Alright, follow me.”
Ge Tianyu turned and led them out of the room.
Suddenly, he noticed that the branches and vines from the magic array were following them along the floor and walls, quickly extending out of the room and into the research area.
Inside the research room, the control personnel stood up as their supervisor arrived.
Ge Tianyu waved to the researchers and continued, “Work with Fang Heng on some tests; start the energy extraction process.”
“Understood!”
The researchers immediately began inputting commands at the control station.
Fang Heng noticed on a nearby screen that several petri dishes containing the imprisoned Gluttony seeds were being injected with a special purple liquid.
The expressions of the unconscious demonic seeds suddenly twisted into grimaces.
“What’s happening?” Fang Heng asked.
“I’ll explain,” Guillermo said, arriving with several researchers.
Guillermo glanced at the vines behind Fang Heng, a look of interest crossing his face.
“Mr. Fang, at this stage, we need to first stimulate the demonic seeds’ power before extracting that primordial energy for our use—just like the magic array for summoning the Hell Gate that you saw earlier.”
“Got it.”
Fang Heng nodded and looked at the petri dishes, “You can continue.”
As the indicators on the main control screen turned red, a researcher reported, “Captain! Energy levels are high; we can proceed to the next phase of energy infusion!”
“Begin execution!”
Guillermo pointed to a surveillance monitor and said, “Mr. Fang, as you can see, this energy will be temporarily gathered in the energy pillars located in the basement. However, it won’t last long, the energy dissipates quickly over time.”
Energy storage had always been a challenging issue in the academic world, especially when it came to harnessing power from demonic seeds.
Storing small amounts of energy was manageable, but once the energy levels increased, it became extremely complicated.
The research team of the Revolution Society had developed modified energy columns that could temporarily store a portion of this energy. However, over time, the stored energy would quickly diminish, often completely vanishing within ten hours.
Fang Heng looked at the screen, where hundreds of crystalline towers emitted a dim yellow glow.
