First Immortal of the Sword

Chapter 2140 - The Road of Celestial Guidance

Chapter 2140 – The Road of Celestial Guidance

The God Domain was subdivided into four great Divine Continents, thirty-three realms, and tens of thousands of lesser planes.

Its four Divine Continents were known as the Ancient Nirvana Divine Continent, the Spirit Firmament Divine Continent, the Southern Flame Divine Continent, and the Eastern Victory Divine Continent.

The thirty-three realms were outside the four Divine Continents, like stars clustered around the moon.

That aside, there was one more extraordinarily special place in the God Domain——

The Central Divine Continent!

In the early days, the Central Divine Continent and the four great Divine Continents were collectively called the Five Divine Continents of the God Domain.

However, a long time ago, an unexpected disaster befell the Central Divine Continent, and it was enveloped in endless, calamitous power. The Central Divine Continent had become the greatest forbidden ground in the God Domain ever since. No one dared draw near.

The Five Great Divine Continents of the God Domain had been the Four Great Divine Continents ever since.

Those major territories aside, the God Domain was home to numerous ancient, mysterious grounds.

Like the Boundless Battlefield, a source of ancient power, or the Tianxiu Sword Shrine, a sacred ground to the world’s sword cultivators

There were lands beyond the nine heavens, places neither gods nor demons dared venture, and there were places buried beneath the nine abysses where no life could survive, as well as unknown lands, ancient ruins, and forbidden zones.

Not even Master Gods could grasp the sheer enormity of the God Domain, nor could they learn all of its secrets.

……

Su Yi and his companions were on their way to the God Domain.

The God Domain stood above all other worlds and planes of the present day. It was incomparably lofty.

There were only two ways to get there.

First, you could become a god and prove your Dao. Gods could then use their Epoch laws to sense the God Domain’s spacetime coordinates. After that, it was just a matter of following them.

But that method wasn’t at all safe. Traversing time and space risked unexpected catastrophes and variables. It was easy to get lost forever.

The second method was to leave from the Kingdom of Lasting Light.

Deep within the skies of the Kingdom of Lasting Light, there lay a path to the God Domain. They called it the Road of Celestial Guidance.

Those in the River of Epochs yet to become gods could, so long as they earned the recognition and guidance of a prominent expert of the God Domain, proceed to the God Domain to cultivate along this road.

That was how the Road of Celestial Guidance got its name.

Back then, Feng Wuji, Lian Sheng, and the other divine children traversed this path to arrive in the Kingdom of Lasting Light.

Now, Su Yi and his companions were traveling along it too.

It was a long road through the endless void. It took even gods around a month to cross it.

Worse, the Road of Celestial Guidance was fraught with all manner of perils. The most terrifying of all were called baleful starstorms. When they swept through the void, they could rip even gods to shreds with ease.

Baleful starstorms aside, there were other perils, like broken spacetime, black holes, and rains of starlight.

Those yet to achieve divinity had no opportunity to overcome them without help!

But these perils were naturally no problem for Su Yi and his companions.

The three of them rode along on a little flat boat. They weren’t moving particularly quickly, but they absolutely weren’t slow, either.

“It wouldn’t be a bad thing to keep a low profile on this trip to the God Domain,” said Su Yi. He was seated at the tail end of the boat and admiring the passing scenery.

He’d taken on Xiao Jian’s appearance, complete with the thin face, distinctive features, and plain cloth robes.

He emanated the characteristic energy fluctuations of a Lesser God, but his presence was otherwise ordinary and unassuming.

His aura of the Divine Dao even contained hints of one of the many Epoch Laws he’d mastered—the Profound Firmament. It was a first-level Epoch Law.

He’d decided not to reveal his true Dao of the Sword unless he ran into danger he couldn’t overcome without it.

“You’ve thought this through, Fellow Daoist. We really shouldn’t draw attention to ourselves on this journey,” said Luo Xuanji with a charming smile.

She’d changed her appearance too. She had bright, clear features, and she’d traded her usual red dress for a simple apricot ruqun. Her snow-white hair was now pitch-black and tied into a casual bun.

Now, she sat there, pretty as could be. She too revealed only the energy fluctuations of the early-stage Creation Realm.

Her brother, Luo Qingdi, was steering at the helm. He hadn’t changed his appearance, so he was still thin, with dark robes and long, disheveled hair. However, he’d disguised his cultivation base to match his sister and Su Yi.

He’d been trapped in the Path of the Ancient Gods for a long, long time. No one of the present day recognized him, so there was no need for a disguise.

“What do you plan to do on this trip to the God Domain, Fellow Daoist?” asked Luo Xuanji.

The question left Su Yi at a loss. That’s right. What should I do when I go to the God Domain? Where should I go?

Numerous places floated to the forefront of his consciousness. They were all places that Li Fuyou had been before, including some of his former residences.

But Su Yi quickly shook his head and rejected them all.

Hundreds of thousands of years had passed since Li Fuyou had reincarnated. The places he’d once stayed most likely had long since ceased to exist.

Furthermore, Li Fuyou had lived his life as free as a wandering crane. He’d never settled in one place.

He’d distanced himself from worldly turmoils and severed all karmic ties. He’d left no orthodoxy or other roots in the God Domain.

Even his enmities were limited to the gods he’d once fought. They had nothing to do with anyone else in the God Domain.

In other words, Li Fuyou’s experiences couldn’t help Su Yi figure out where to go at all.

After a moment’s thought, Su Yi said, “First, I’ll find a quiet place to cultivate.”

He really did want to lie low for a bit. He had to raise his cultivation as much as possible before the Dark Days of Legend.

Fortunately, the God Domain had no shortage of suitable places to cultivate.

That aside, there’s a few things I’d like to ask around about… Su Yi added silently.

Li Fuyou’s disciple, Ning Xiu, had been attacked and almost killed in the God Domain. Her body had been destroyed, but her soul survived, only to be taken captive by Feng Wuji’s family.

In the Immortal Realm, Feng Wuji had used her soul as leverage to do business with Su Yi.

But although he and the Feng Family had profited from the situation, a Buddhist faction had been behind the attack!

He’d since learned that the faction behind it was called Cloudy Heights Temple. They were one of the subordinate factions of the Western Paradise Spirit Mountains!

Su Yi naturally wouldn’t let this grudge go unavenged.

That aside, some of Li Fuyou’s old friends were waiting for him in the God Domain’s Boundless Battlefield!

Including Luo Yao, the woman who called him Daoist Brother!

When he found the time, Su Yi would ask about the Boundless Battlefield and check on his old friends. It would be just wonderful if he and Luo Yao could meet again.

Of course, there was one other important thing Su Yi had to do on this expedition: visiting Xi Ning.

He and Xi Ning had an extraordinary connection. Back in the Immortal Realm’s Epoch Battlefield, Xi Ning had saved him, almost sacrificing her own life in the process!

Last night, during his conversation with the River Lord, Su Yi asked about Xi Ning. However, the River Lord wouldn’t say anything beyond, “You’ll know when the time is right.”

Furthermore, the River Lord said that no matter what, he had to be good to Xi Ning. Otherwise, he was sure to regret it for the rest of his life.

He gave no concrete answers, but this response served as further proof that the relationship between Su Yi and Xi Ning was unique beyond imagination!

“Hm?” Luo Xuanji suddenly sensed something, then whispered, “Fellow Daoist, there’s a warship headed our way.”

Su Yi turned to look and saw a massive warship emanating misty light approaching from the distant void.

The warship was the size of a mountain, and its decks were covered in a forest of pagodas. It was a grand, spectacular sight.

In the blink of an eye, it was upon them.

An old man in black robes stood at the helm of the boat. He had his hands behind his back, and his eyes flashed like lightning as he looked Su Yi and his companions up and down, then said with reserved politeness, “This old man is called Tu Youfang. I’m the third elder of the God Domain’s Opening Origins Daoist Sect. Greetings, Fellow Daoists.”

He was a Mid-Rank God!

Su Yi glanced at him, but remained seated. “Do you have business with us?”

Luo Xuanji remained in place, too. Luo Qingdu, meanwhile, stopped the boat in place and remained standing, so calm that he seemed emotionless.

This reaction left the old man in black, Tu Youfang, a bit stunned. He’d taken the initiative to introduce himself, but these three Lesser Gods were treating him so flippantly!

But a moment later, he laughed, not the least bit concerned.

He figured that the three of them had obviously only just achieved divinity, and they knew nothing of the God Domain. Moreover, he was a complete stranger, and he’d come out of nowhere. It was only natural that they’d be on guard.

After reaching this conclusion, Tu Youfang smiled and said, “Our meeting was an act of fate. I suspect this is your first time visiting the God Domain. Why not travel with us?”

Su Yi was just about to refuse when numerous voices rang out from the battleship.

“Fellow Daoists, Senior Tu is a prominent expert of the Opening Origins Daoist Sect. If you travel with him, the road ahead will be far smoother.”

“That’s right. The Road of Celestial Guidance is full of catastrophes. If we travel together, we can look out for each other.”

Su Yi looked over and saw numerous figures emerge from the warship and look their way. The vast majority were early-stage Creation Realm Master Gods, but there were a few Great Profound Stage cultivators there too.

A lineup like that was no threat at all.

“Fellow Daoists, rest assured. All of us are visiting the God Domain for the first time. Senior Tu has kindly allowed us to accompany him. This is an absolutely wondrous blessing,” someone said with a laugh.

The others nodded along.

Here, Tu Youfang chimed in as well. “I’m extending this invitation out of the goodness of my heart. It isn’t easy to become a god, and it would truly be a shame if something happened to you before you reached the God Domain.”

He paused and tilted his head meaningfully, then added, “That aside, those who manage to become gods all have their extraordinary qualities. If the three of you have no place to go in the God Domain, you’d be welcome to cultivate in our Opening Origins Daoist Sect!”

“I guarantee that we’ll treat you with the appropriate respect and high status. We won’t let your talents go to waste!”

Su Yi was a bit stunned. He and Luo Xuanji exchanged glances. Only now did they realize why Tu Youfang had taken it upon himself to invite them to join him.

He was trying to recruit them!
