First Immortal of the Sword

Chapter 1862: The Lost Treasures of Spiritual Desolation Mountain

The bronze palace’s interior was spacious and largely empty.

Sixteen massive bronze pillars stood in a staggered row, supporting the ceiling. All of them were completely covered in the secret markings of the Divine Dao. The markings were lit up, and a calamitous aura filled the air.

An old man in a Daoist priest’s cap sat cross-legged before the furthest pillar, holding a revolving black jade disc.

Streaks of the power of Annihilation shot from the black jade disc, continuously surging into the sixteen bronze pillars. The mysterious markings carved on their surfaces were gradually melting and disappearing.

Bang!

A figure slammed to the ground and rolled, shrieking like a slaughtered pig. He was a powerfully built man with a martial bearing and imperial robes, but now, he was covered in blood and utterly wretched.

The old man with the black jade disc was stunned. He looked at the entryway and saw a young man in blue robes sauntering over.

The young man gripped a book billowing with chaos energy, and he was swinging it as he might a brick. He himself emanated the characteristic energy fluctuations of an Immortal King.

“Who are you? How dare you trespass in Divine Venerate Tian Huang’s forbidden ground?” The old man in the Daoist priest’s cap rose and said gravely. His expression was utterly dark.

Su Yi looked around and examined the sixteen bronze pillars before fixing his gaze on the black jade disc. He said thoughtfully, “If I’m not mistaken, the bronze pillars serve as the entrance to the prison Divine Venerate Tian Huang left here, and that disc you’re holding is the key. Am I wrong?”

The old man’s brow furrowed. “You knew that Divine Venerate Tian Huang left this place here, yet you still dare barge in. Aren’t you afraid of divine retribution?”

Su Yi laughed. “I’m here, aren’t I? Do you think I’m afraid?”

The old man’s face filled with uncertainty.

Then, suddenly, he tossed the black jade disc to the man in imperial robes. “Open the gate. I’d like to have a private conversation with our Fellow Daoist Su.”

Su Yi was briefly stunned. So, the old-timer’s already realized who I am?

He’d only just thought this when a streak of black light shot toward him.

Silent, without a trace, and lightning quick!

Practically simultaneously, the old man expanded. His muscles bulged, bursting his clothing, as he transformed into a ninety-foot-tall black ape.

Black divine radiance billowed from his massive frame, and the power of the Great Unity Stage swept throughout the hall.

“Die!”

The ape launched himself at Su Yi in a single smooth movement. Su Yi raised his hand, stretched out his finger, and pressed down.

Bang!!

The black light shattered and dissipated like rain.

The ape, meanwhile, swung his fist. Surging fist force transformed into a star domain; countless blazing stars exploded with black divine flames and burst forth with terrifying, all-encompassing destructive power. ℞AƝÔBʧ

Su Yi stood in place, unmoving, his gaze as calm as stagnant waters. He didn’t even twitch.

Bang!!!

Fist force descended with a bang and burst forth with terrifying power, only to stop abruptly a foot in front of Su Yi.

Upon closer inspection, an invisible power of the Grand Dao had wrapped around him, blocking that tyrannical sword force with ease.

It couldn’t even break through Su Yi’s defensive Dao Light. Naturally, it couldn’t sway Su Yi in the slightest.

The old man looked stricken, and his pupils constricted. He suddenly roared, raised his fists, and launched over a hundred punches in rapid succession. Every strike was imbued with the power of a Grand Dao Hidden Realm and mighty enough to burn mountains and boil seas. Any given strike would have been enough to deal even a fellow Great Unity Stage cultivator massive damage.

But without exception, all of them were blocked just three feet from Su Yi, then shattered into a dazzling rain of light.

From beginning to end, Su Yi didn’t budge. He just stood there and gazed calmly at his opponent, his eyes glinting with a nigh imperceptible hint of mockery.

The old man was enraged and alarmed. His eyes suddenly flashed with ruthlessness.

Clang!

A glittering golden staff appeared in his hand. He poured his entire cultivation base into it and struck with all his might.

Su Yi’s eyebrows rose. He stretched out his hand, took hold of the golden staff, and twisted, yanking out of the old man’s grip.

Splurt!!

The soft flesh between the old man’s thumb and forefinger ripped open, and he was forced back.

His expression filled with horror. Even if you’d hit him over the head, he would never have guessed that a Great Unity expert like him would fare so badly against an Immortal King like Su Yi.

Boom!!

Before he could respond, Su Yi swung the golden staff, sending the old man’s ninety-foot body flying. He slammed into a distant pillar, shaking the entire palace.

The old man coughed up blood, and his face paled.

Su Yi flung the staff, which blurred into a beam of golden light.

The middle-aged man in imperial robes was pouring his all into the disc at the far end of the hall when he felt a sudden, piercing pain. Before he knew what had hit him, the staff had already run him through, and he exploded into bits.

The black jade disc flew out from the disembodied hand, and Su Yi plucked it from the air.

When the old man saw this, his face went ashen, and he gave into despair. By now, how could he not have realized what a terrifying opponent this was? This wasn’t someone a Great Unity cultivator like him could handle!

“How do you use this treasure?” Su Yi walked up to the old man and said, “Tell me, and I’ll let you die quickly.”

The old man wiped the blood from his lips. “This is the key to the divine prison. Don't tell me you want to let Divine Venerate Tian Huang’s emissaries go?”

“Yes, that's exactly what I'm telling you,” said Su Yi.

The old man froze and looked at Su Yi in disbelief. “In that case, why attack me? Why interfere at all?”

Su Yi fiddled with the disc and said absently, “When it comes to stuff like this, I can’t relax unless I’m in control of the situation.”

The old man’s lips twitched. “Very well. If you want to seek out your own demise, I have no reason to stop you.”

He took out a golden jade talisman and handed it over. “The method is recorded in this.”

Su Yi accepted the jade talisman, but he didn’t examine it immediately. Instead, he asked, “It’s been two months since you arrived here. Have you already gathered all the treasures left on Spiritual Desolation Mountain?”

The old man froze.

Splurt!

A bloody hole appeared through his forehead, and he toppled over backward, his eyes wide with obvious bitterness.

Moments later, his skin split, and his blood caught ablaze and flowed away like molten lava, quickly staining the ground red.

“Even in the face of death, you thought you could use a secret technique to destroy your cultivation base and drag me to the grave with you? Ridiculous.” Su Yi shook his head.

As they conversed, he'd sensed that something wasn’t right about the old man’s aura, so he'd killed him on the spot.

He walked over and removed a spatial ring from the old man’s remains. When he inserted his divine sense, he couldn’t help but look surprised. The ring contained a mountain of treasure!

After a single glance, Su Yi recognized dozens of rare and precious Great Realm treasures, as well as a huge variety of Great Realm immortal medicines. As he looked closer, his heart filled with uncontrollable delight. The old man had effectively cleaned out a top-notch treasury. The most ridiculous part was that none of the treasures here were ordinary; they were all either long-lost divine materials or rare and precious Great Realm treasures!

Su Yi didn’t even need to think to know that this mountain of treasures had been acquired here on Spiritual Desolation Mountain!

The experts of Jade Firmament Immortal Palace had spent the past two months gathering them, one by one. Alas, in the end, Su Yi reaped the benefit of their hard work.

One of the treasures made even Su Yi’s experienced eyes widen: a jug containing ten thousand catties of Profound Gold Ambrosia.

Profound Gold Ambrosia!

This was a supreme treasure of the Grand Dao within the Great Realm. Even a tiny portion could help Great Martial Stage cultivators establish the firmest possible foundations in the Grand Dao.

That aside, it could help Great Unity cultivators condense their Grand Dao Fire Sources and temper their Hidden Realms of the Grand Dao. It could even help Great Profound cultivators refine the Divine Source Light in their souls!

In the days prior to the Age of Fallen Immortals, Profound Gold Ambrosia was among the Seven Treasures of the Great Realm, among the greatest of cultivation resources within its level.

Yet now, Su Yi had gotten his hands on a jug containing over ten thousand catties of it. That was unquestionably more than Wang Ye had gathered throughout his entire lifetime of cultivation!

“No wonder Li Fuyou managed to train four unparalleled Sword Sovereigns. If they cultivated with treasures like this, it would be hard not to have top-notch foundations in the Grand Dao.” Su Yi sighed.

And this was merely a portion of the treasures of Spiritual Desolation Mountain, those left behind. The thought made Su Yi’s heart ache. When the mountain was first attacked, how many of its treasures did Divine Venerate Tian Huang and his dogs pilfer…?

As of now, all Su Yi could say with certainty that Sword Sovereign Dong Xuan’s Realm-Demarcating Ruler had fallen into Divine Venerate Tian Huang’s hands!

Hah~

Su Yi let out a breath of turbid air, then put away the storage ring and started examining the golden talisman. Before long, he knew how to control the black jade disc.

Jin Zhuliu had brought it with him when he descended from the God Domain, and it was the work of Divine Venerate Tian Huang. They called it the Dao Manifestation Divine Disc. With it, they could open the divine prison here.

Just as Su Yi had expected, it was a key. But what he hadn't expected was that it could also control the Laws of Annihilation covering Spiritual Desolation Mountain!

When Su Yi first charged into the hall, he was attacked by the Laws of Annihilation. He was now certain that the old man had used the Dao Manifestation Divine Disc to control them. Alas, according to the jade talisman, once he opened the divine prison, the Laws of Annihilation covering the mountain would gradually dissipate.

Su Yi couldn’t help but find this a pity. And here he’d thought he could use the Laws of Annihilation toward his own ends! If so, when he opened the divine prison, he’d be able to destroy the captive divine emissaries with ease. Now, he had no choice but to give up on the idea.

Su Yi sank into silence for a while, then made up his mind.

He took out the Sky-Covering Boat and shared his plans with Lin Feng.
