First Demonic Dragon

Chapter 753: [Bonus Chapter] A Wrench…

Possibly than any of the other children, Courtney was treated like her father's baby.

Not to say that he loved her more than the others, but because she had already had an unfortunate start to life, Abaddon wanted Courtney to have the best of everything and never know a single hardship.

Courtney liked that until she got a little bit older and began to feel slightly smothered.

Especially when she wanted to learn how to defend herself at around 14 years of age.

Abaddon was firmly against it, of course.

From his extensive experience, the moment that you develop a skill, the world around you will force you into using it.

That very thought was enough to terrify Abaddon into rejecting his daughter's request outright.

His baby girl would remain safe and without so much as a callous on her hand, or a scratch on her cheek.

It didn't matter that she was already physically invincible.

He didn't care if she walked around with an eldritch dragon in her shadow when she went to school everyday.

Anything could still happen.

And yet, it wasn't until Courtney approached her father in earnest that things became different.

She told him that she felt insulted. Like he didn't believe that she was capable of taking care of herself because she wasn't a dragon.

...Abaddon caved.

He taught his daughter to use a sword, and gave her a special weapon as her fifteenth birthday present.

Mercy is a simple looking katana made from one of his own teeth and Ayanna's scales; making it sharper than any other weapon in the multiverse and just as difficult to break too.

It was also bonded to her like Thea's sword or Belloc's axe- so she didn't actually have to lift a finger to swing it.

She carried the weapon around in her shadow everyday, but she never really got to use it aside from that incident with the newbie vampire a day ago.

Abaddon didn't outright tell his kids not to take Courtney on missions or hunts, but that didn't mean that they weren't fully aware of how much he would dislike it.

As such, all of her oldest siblings usually gave her hard no's when asked for an invitation.

Only the unruly twin Yemaja was chaotic enough to take her father's baby out into the wild of the world and let her get a chance to swing her sword.

A girl's gotta have fun sometimes, right?

And what merit would there be in being a big sister if you didn't let your younger siblings engage in a bit of mischief from time to time?

"I'm just putting it out there again that if daddy finds out about this and freaks then I will not be taking the blame for it!"

"We know, Mira."

"You don't have to keep telling us, I promise."

"Just making sure... He can get mad at the rest of you, but I don't want him to get mad at me!"

Yemaya and Yemaja rolled their eyes in unison.

The girls were back in Courtney's dorm room waiting on their sister to finish showering and getting ready.

Mira was busy rummaging through the fridge for anything that passed as edible on earth.

Upon finding a tub of cookie dough in the back of the fridge, her twin colored eyes sparkled like freshly cut gems.

She quickly pulled open the lid without hesitating and pulled out her trusty spoon from her back pocket.

She had nearly dug in when Yemaya prematurely snatched away the tub and pointed to the name on the side that was most definitely not 'Courtney'.

Or 'Mira' for that matter.

"Paws off, Frosty. Our little sister doesn't grocery shop, so nothing in here belongs to her." Yemaya reminded.

"Aww..." It broke Mira's fragile heart to see er sister take her delicious treat and put it back in the fridge without even letting her have a taste.

"And by the way, dad won't get mad because there will be nothing for him to be mad about. Nothing should happen to our sister on this world since we've brought you, our delightful little murder princess, along for the ride." ṙἈ𐌽∅BÊs

"Who are you calling a murder princess?"

"Do you like it?"

"A little!"

Mira shook her head hard so that she wouldn't be too swayed by sweet words.

"Anyways, don't think I'm going to be doing all your heavy lifting for you. I had to leave an ass-load of my power behind and I'm struggling just to stay awake right now. You chumps are on your own."

Yemaja put on her best acting skills and draped her body over her older sister.

"B-But you do things so much cooler than we do... How are we supposed to measure up properly when you're going to be right there with us..?"

Yemaya found her twin's antics to be both uninspired and unoriginal.

"...Well, I guess I can be persuaded to let the two of you ride my coattails for a bit. Just to show you the ropes."

Unoriginal though they may have been, Yemaya was never not sure that it would work in their favor.

"Sorry It took me so long!"

Courtney's bedroom door finally opened and the young woman came running out wearing a more enthusiastic expression than what was normal for her.

"Someone's excited." Yemaja chuckled.

"W-Well, yea, I mean I never get to do anything like this. I mean the closest that I came to it was two days ago when-"

*R-R-Ring!*

Instantly, the air was sucked out of the room when Mira's phone suddenly rang.

Nobody called her other than family, so everyone was immediately worried that they were about to be busted before even stepping out.

Yemaja started to tell their sister not to answer the phone, but Mira had quick fingers and a mind of her own.

"Hey, Thruddie!"

"Hey, Mira, where'd you go with the twins?? I'm basically at the house by myself now, and I'm a little bored." Thrudd asked on the other line.

"I thought you were with Uncle Belphegor and Absalom?"

"I was, but they started doing couple things and third wheeling me, so I kinda just decided not to stick around for that."

"Sounds about right. I'm kinda used to it at this point though."

"Yea, well I'm not. The last thing I need is more reminders of 8,000 year cold streak, thank you very much."

"You can always join my Unongendi." Mira offered.

"So Yemaja can give me shit every time I pass her in the hall? I think the fuck not."

Everyone glanced at Yemaja who in turn shrugged innocently.

"Anyway… Where did you guys say you were again? I'm bringing Baggy."

"We're on eart-"

Yemaja quickly covered her sisters mouth before she could finish giving away their location, but it was too late.

"Oh, visiting Courtney, huh? I'll find you guys shortly."

With that, Thrudd hung up the phone and the dorm room was soaked in silence once more.

At least, until Yemaja just started strangling her older sister on the kitchen floor.

"You big cookie-obsessed idiot! You just ruined everythinggg!!!"
