The door to a college dormitory swung open and Courtney burst inside in a complete frenzy.

Due to her recklessness, she accidentally ran smack into a young woman who also just so happened to be leaving at that time.

"Ow!" She cried as she hit the floor.

"Shit, I'm sorry!" Courtney panicked. "Are you alright??"

"Ugh… Y-Yea. Door gave me a pretty clean hit though…"

A clean hit was an understatement. The young woman's nose was bleeding.

Feeling guilty, Courtney ran across the room to the kitchen and grabbed two fist fulls of paper towels.

"H-Here."

The young woman snickered.

"All this for one little nosebleed is a bit much don't you think?"

"Oh… now that you mention it…" Courtney was so embarrassed that she could have imploded.

In all fairness, her concern wasn't wholly out of the blue.

Courtney's father never turned her into a dragon, but he gave her the sin of pride when she was just five years old.

She could be stabbed, shot, and subjected to every kind of blunt force trauma imaginable, but she wouldn't develop so much as a blemish on her skin.

Perhaps that was why she had a bad habit of driving as fast as she did. She was invulnerable.

"I really do feel bad… Is there a way I can make it up to you..?"

"Wow… This is a real shocker."

The young woman stood up and Courtney realized that she was at least a head taller than her.

The young woman was very charming as well.

She wore a simple outfit of a long tan skirt with a dark green halter top covering her chest.

Her black hair was done in two buns of goddess locks that she jokingly said weighed her head down quite a bit.

Circular silver glasses protected her from embarrassing herself due to her particularly poor eyesight that she'd developed in middle school.

Her dark chocolate skin smelled lightly of cocoa butter and sage. Her entire body seemed to have a natural luster that was so impressive it was almost divine.

If she weren't obviously such a quiet and reserved type, she would have undoubtedly caught attention as a campus flower.

Courtney had only ever seen her roommate once before in passing, so it never really sunk in how beautiful she was before now.

They missed each other a lot and Courtney ended up going home most nights, so this was actually their first full conversation.

"What's so shocking..?" Courtney asked.

Her roommate held up the two big balls of tissue to her nose.

"You, I mean, everyone on campus thinks that you're like this super scary bad girl who everyone is supposed to avoid. But you're surprisingly nice!"

"Eh..? People think I'm a bitch?"

"Eh? You didn't know?"

Both girls kind of stared at each other awkwardly.

"… I am so sorry." The roommate apologized.

"But why?! I haven't even done anything to anyone?!"

"Something about you driving fast and never actually texting anyone you give your number to.."

"…T-That's just hearsay."

"Doesn't really seem like it. Everyone kinda thinks you're all full of yourself because you're famous and stuff."

"Huh? When the hell did I get famous?"

"… You're joking, right? You have like a million followers online."

"…Come again?"

-

Courtney was socially awkward.

Her father was the most feared being in creation and one of the family pets was a giant bat god, but wouldn't you know that she still struggled figuring out basic conversation skills? Stay tuned with ꞦàŊO͍βƐŚ

As a result, she didn't really interact with people on a social level that weren't her siblings. Even though she lived on earth part time, she was still kind of far away from it.

Courtney had only social media account.

She got it because it was recommended to her by her old track coach as a way to ramp up the scouting process and help her get into a good school.

And true to his advice, it did. She got her scholarship to her preferred school in around a month. She deleted her social media immediately after.

However, she only deleted the app. Not her actual account.

As a result, people still ended up finding her. And even though she didn't actually post anything herself, her school tagged her in any posts they made about her meets.

As a result, the fame that she didn't even know she had just kept building, and building, and building until one arrived at the current day…

As she walked back to her car, she scrolled through all of the replies, private messages, and fan accounts that she wasn't even aware of.

There were thousands…

Even a few big and small brands were in her inbox asking if she wanted free shit. Provided she took lots of pictures in it of course..

These people knew a lot about her. Too much damn near. Like the fact that she was a first year student pursuing degrees in philanthropy and environmental science.

They even knew that she was adopted, but for some reason they believed her parents to be Muslim… it was probably the whole multiple moms thing that gave everyone that impression.

This whole situation was kind of creepy if she were honest… now she was almost scared to go out in public!

"Is that why I keep attracting all those weird influencer guys..? I thought they were just popping up randomly.." Courtney muttered to herself.

With all of this weird stuff going on, Courtney was starting to think that she could kiss her hopes of getting into a normal relationship goodbye.

How was she ever going to meet anyone normally if she was supposedly this internet celeb now?

Even her roommate Kayla had a girlfriend who she was rushing off to see, and she looked like she was scared to talk to people!

Maybe her older sister was right after all. She was going to spend eternity alone. (Yemaja)

But Courtney could already imagine that the only one who would be happy at that turn of events would be her brothers and father.

'Should I finally get on a dating app or something after all..? No, what am I saying. I can't even make any fucking friends, what do I look like getting on a dating app??'

Courtney finally looked up from her phone as she reached her parked car.

However, she never expected that when she arrived there would be somebody else already there.

Courtney wasn't really all that alarmed, as this was kind of a regular occurrence for her by now.

Her car was a more than $45,000 attention magnet, and most people in the car community stopped to admire it.

Was it dangerous considering everything that she had just learned..?

…Yes.

But in fairness, this guy didn't really seem like the stalker type.

"You see something you like?"

"Hm? O-Oh, my bad."

A man turned around and Courtney could see that he also wore their school's athletic sweats.

He was a large guy at around 6'1, with a big and sturdy physique that looked like it took quite a while to acquire.

Like Kayla, he was dark skinned with black hair and honey-gold eyes. His black hair had deep waves spinning in every direction, and he had a short beard along his square jaw.

In a single moment, Courtney noticed two things about this guy.

One is that he looked a LOT like her roommate. They absolutely had to be related somehow.

The second thing she noticed? She liked the way he looked.

Was he indescribably attractive and comparable to the beautiful and scaly denizens back at home? No.

But he had features that stood out to her as she stared at him.

"Sorry for spooking you… I just thought it was a nice ride is all." He admitted.

He also thought it belonged to a guy but he would never tell her that.

As Courtney searched for the words say, her final realization hit her like a truck.

She was finally attracted to someone after all of this time.
