First Demonic Dragon

Chapter 435 The New Humanity

The power to manipulate souls had been Abaddon's for quite a long time now,and the introduction of Aether and Nether into his body had expanded his potential with such powers by inconceivable margins.

Aether, the combined source of all elemental, spiritual, cosmic, primordial, and transcendental forces.

And Nether, the universal apocalyptic force that consumes all that is created, and brings death or undeath to all who are touched by it.

With these abilities in hand… he could empower the humans easily, right?

Especially if he combined them somehow and-

Wrong.

Abaddon had consulted with his third daughter before coming here about the best way to go about fulfilling Thea's wish.

And when he told her what he was planning to do, his daughter nearly shit herself.

Apparently, he was coming dangerously close to breaking a universal and outerversal law.

Aether & Nether, no matter how similar their names sound, are not to be mixed.

Though she did not tell him exactly what would happen if he performed this action and even refused to elaborate, making him realize just how serious about this she was.

Since she didn't want him to go playing with powers too great for even him, she gave him a drastically less dangerous but still monumentally difficult alternative.

Using the nephilim souls as a base, she instructed him to manipulate Aether and Nether in tandem to create and destroy properties inside of the souls.

This seemed to be her way of preparing him slowly for the future he was so casually about to leap into before.

Using only the most refined amount of Nether possible, he erased the past lives of the nephilim from memory so that they would have no chance of overwhelming the human bodies they would be put into.

He took away their aggression, tendency to crave human flesh, and of course their wanton desire for conquest and destruction.

He also took away their gigantism, but they would still maintain an above average physique that wasn't 'normal' for humans.

If Abaddon had to guess, he would be making the average height for an enhanced around 6'2, but growing no larger than 6'7.

When it came down to physical stats, he was planning to build off of what they already had genetically and go from there.

The weakest among them would be able to crush an eighteen wheeler with only their bare hands and the strongest could likely bring down a building in a single blow.

As far as speed and durability, they would be able to run at a leisure speed of 170 miles per hour and survive a shot from a tank at point blank range.

He thought making them telekinetic would also be extremely helpful and so he gave them that ability as well.

The real opportunity for individualism came in the elemental powers he gave them.

According to the personal tastes of the one who was bestowed a soul, they would receive any one of a variety of elemental powers.

Some would get lightning, fire, earth, water, and the like, but Abaddon had ensured that spacial and darkness manipulation were not off the table either.

It all depended on the character of the person who was bestowed a soul.

And of course, because Abaddon could not have any of the members of the race he was creating harboring misguided loyalty towards the heavens, they were going to know exactly where their powers came from.

That was his gracious and benevolent daughter who was the embodiment of everything pure and virtuous.

- In Sheol at the same time…

"Ugghhh…!"

Nita: "I warned you not to do this, darling."

Jasmine : "What were you thinking..?"

Sabine : "I fail to see what part of 'Atomic flavored chicken wings' sounded appealing to you."

Finally, Abaddon opened the bag and held it out high above his own head.

Almost immediately, a flurry of small, verdant green souls came flying out and onto the earth.

They flew fast across the sky, traveling to every city, every continent, and home to search for those worthy to inherit their powers.

As it set in that Abaddon was effectively creating a new race from the ashes of another, he smiled beautifully as he had a slightly absurd thought.

'After everything I've done so far… I think this may be the most godlike I have ever felt.'

-

"Did you know this would happen?"

"…Sorta?"

"You didn't think about it at all, did you?"

"…I've done a lot of thinking today, I'm tired."

"Sure, honey."

When Abaddon and Audrina came back from turning the world on it's head, they found something of a surprise waiting for them.

The rest of the wives were waiting in the living room, surrounding a floating Mateo with a curious eye.

His body was slowly changing, becoming even more durable while his hair became a silvery white color.

His eyes flashed open and revealed one of them to be an illustrious gold while the other remained red.

"Well I didn't erase his humanity after all so this isn't all that unexpected." Abaddon said as he rubbed weariness out of his eyes.

The group watched Mateo float down onto the floor wearing an incredulous expression.

"I…just had some kind of vision. There was this girl… she was so beautiful and generous… I think I am in love."

"That is our daughter, Thea." Lisa explained.

Mateo seemed to immediately recognize his mistake and looked at Abaddon with renewed fear.

"L-Lo siento! I was just-"

"Don't worry about it. You're missing the parts to get her attention anyways." Abaddon replied with a yawn.

"Que?"

The dragon waived his hand dismissively before placing his hand on Mateo's shoulder.

"Listen, my friend. I wish that I had more time to teach you all that you will need to know for the future, but our time grows short.

So instead, I will leave you with this one piece of advice. Do not be afraid to fail. Learn from every experience, positive or negative and let them shape you.

As of now your world is in total pandemonium and they will be looking for a figure to both blame and revere. Do not let them do either to you.

All that must matter is gathering your forces and building up yourselves for what is to come. Let no god approach you promising grand gifts and shortcuts to make things easier. It will never be worth it."

Mateo was unused to seeing Abaddon act serious like this, so he listened to everything that he had to say without even a moment's lapse in concentration.

"I get it… when will I see you all again?"

"When the horsemen ride, the gjallerhorn is blown, the trihexa crawls from the sea, and a giant serpent swallows the sun in the sky. Among other world ending phenomena."

"Right… let's have a beer when you return, my friend. And thank you for these gift-"

As if the world had suddenly been paused, Mateo froze dead in his tracks without finishing his sentence.

Abaddon recognized this scenery all too well, and it wasn't long before they heard a familiar motherly voice to go with all of their suspicions.

"Honestly… how one family is able to cause me so much trouble is something I will never understand."
