Chapter 668: Heartfelt apology - Part 2

Noah blinked once, twice, thrice as he stared at his phone. The screen was auto-locked after his call with Aria had ended. It was as though he was dreaming and Noah wondered if it was all his illusion or if Aria was actually coming to meet him.

Since the time he had returned home, he had been trying to contact her and speak to her, but in vain. Aria did not even receive his calls, let alone speak to him and accept his apology. Yet, he did not give up. He kept calling her even when her phone was switched off and eventually, his attempts were fruitful and Aria finally, picked up his call, much to his relief.

"Why did you break my heart?" Joshua wailed like a banshee from beside him, but Noah ignored him completely, allowing the man to behave like a lunatic. He was more focused on what Aria had told him and his lips arched up into a blissful smile.

Oblivious to Noah's joyous mood, a melancholic Joshua lay on the bed with one of his feet touching the ground as he clutched a bottle of water. "Why did you abandon me?" He cried and Ian's face morphed in displeasure when he heard the man's pathetic and unpleasant cries. It was more horrifying than anything he had heard before and he kicked Joshua's feet to stop him from shouting anymore.

However, his actions only served to ignite Joshua's sadness all the more and he cried with all his might until his voice reached the guards outside the mansion.

"Oh, will you stop it? I'm getting a headache listening to your horrible singing." Ian scolded him and Joshua grumbled under his breath, glaring at him in anger.

"What do you know? You single, unromantic doctor-of-a-man." He slurred. Even though Joshua was not drunk, he looked nothing less than a drunkard. "You heartless man will never understand my predicament. Ivy...Ivy...Ivy..." He went back to crying again as he hugged the bottle of water tight and Ian shook his head in dismay.

"Unbelievable." He mumbled and focused on Noah, who was smiling like an idiot as he kept his eyes fixed on his phone.

'What happened to him now?' Ian wondered and observed him. But even after staring at him for a long time, there was no reaction from Noah and Ian felt a headache seeping in all of a sudden.

'Did my friends go mad all of a sudden? What drug did they inhale?' He pondered and patted Noah's shoulder lightly and came face to face with the man's grinning face. Ian raised a brow at him and shook his palm in a questioning manner.

"What's wrong? What happened to you?"

"Aria happened," Noah uttered instantly and Ian understood everything at once.

"I should have known." He clicked his tongue as he looked back and forth between his friends. "Only Ivy and Aria can make you two go crazy like this. How infuriating!!"

Ian scoffed in resentment and moved away from Noah. "From your expression, shall I assume that something good happened?"

"Yes," Noah replied, not at all minding Ian's words of ridicule.

"And what might that be? May I know?"

"Aria is coming here to meet me."

"Really? That's great then. Maybe you two might solve your misunderstandings."

"Yes, you should." Joshua chipped in, completely coming out of his drunkard character. "Only when you and Aria reconcile will Ivy return to me. So, get back with Aria as soon as possible. Otherwise, I will fight you to death."

Joshua threatened but it had no effect on Noah. Instead, the man just gave him a nonchalant look which only served to add more to Joshua's annoyance.

"Fuck you, Noah. Get back with Aria as soon as possible. Otherwise, I am going to play tricks on you and not allow you to have your wedding night on the day of your wedding."

Joshua's words elicited a chuckle from Ian while Noah's expression darkened and he glared at his idiotic friend.

"There is no use glaring at me. I am going to do what I promise and I promise you this. Just you wait and watch." Joshua gritted his teeth and chugged down some water as though it was not a bottle of water but a bottle of beer and to add emphasis, he even wiped his lips aggressively.

"Get out." Noah spat when he was done tolerating the dramatic man.

"What?" Joshua looked at him blankly, surprised by his unexpected reaction.

"I said get out. Will you leave yourself or should I throw your ass out?"

"I am not leaving. This is injustice. I am not leaving..."

"Do you not want Aria and me to reconcile?"

Noah's words shut Joshua's mouth and he just glowered at him in return.

"If you want Ivy to return to you soon, get out before Aria arrives. Otherwise, do not blame me for prolonging Ivy's stay with her father."

Joshua sprang to his feet as though someone had poked his butt with a needle and he picked up his coat and phone.

"I am leaving. You better patch up with Aria today." Joshua warned and ran away from the place as quick as lightning and seeing him scurry away like a frightened mouse, Noah and Ian both chuckled in amusement.

"I am with Joshua this time," Ian added all of a sudden and he looked at the man beside him. "Get back with Aria as soon as possible and end this one problem at least. We have other important matters to handle after this."

Noah was an idiot. He understood what Ian was hinting at and his smile vanished when he thought about his grandfather.

"I'm leaving now. All the best."

Noah did not speak a word and drowned himself in his thoughts as he thought of the man who he once worshipped but had come to hate all of a sudden. It was not until he heard Aria's voice from the hallway that he snapped out of his reverie and pushed his troublesome thoughts to the back of his mind.
