Anyone in Zayne's shoes would probably have screamed in pain and tried to deal with this feeling somehow. However, at that moment, his mind was fully occupied with Selania's words.
'Leave...? Wait... I can actually do that... Mia will be well soon, and we can just live like normal people...' Zayne muttered inwardly, but just as fragments of his memories appeared in his mind, his face changed completely.
Whooooooooooosh.
Behind Zayne's, scarlet wings spread, covering him as if trying to protect him. Selania's sword pierced them with ease, but the delay was enough for Zayne to jump back in time.
He touched his forehead, where a long cut opened up, and looked at his bloody fingertips.
"No... I can't go. I could probably handle those bastards easily now, but only true strength can protect Mia from future threats, I can't take any more risks." Zayne shook his head, rising from the ground.
"What an unusual skill... Did you get it after defeating Apostle?" Selania inquired, taking a deep breath.
"Does it matter? Let's fight, only one of us will leave here." Zayne said calmly, stepping forward slowly. In this brief exchange of strikes, Zayne lost more than 30% of his HP, but it didn't worry him, even the messages stopped appearing, as he wished them to.
Behind Zayne, the scarlet wings reappeared, as he bent his torso slightly.
"As long as you can do it." Zayne rushed forward, turning into a crimson flash.
The sword, with its white glowing runes, came crashing down on Selania with tremendous speed, greater than before. Selania flinched and blocked the attack, however, Zayne swung the sword again, then again and again.
In a battle of this level, he did not worry about the safety of his sword and attacked with all his might so that if he succeeded, he would inflict irreparable damage on Selania.
'Damn! Why is it so fast and strong!" Selania inwardly exclaimed, taking on a hail of attacks, each time creating wisps of sparks, 'Shit! I didn't want to use it so soon, but I have no other choice!'
Crackle.
Selania raised her leg sharply, kicking Zayne and tossing him aside. Zayne spat out a clot of blood and braced himself for the next confrontation.
"I don't know where you get your strength from, but this is just the beginning!" Selania exclaimed, rushing forward again at the same speed as before.
Tremble.
Their swords clashed as Zayne's gaze grew deeper, "Hmm? Using the same skill twice? Do you really think that's going to work against me?"
"Hah, you're wrong about something." Selania smirked as her feet burst into blue flames, making Zayne's eyes go wide.
"Azure Step, Part Two." Selania whispered as her silhouette blurred, the next moment she was like a ghost behind Zayne, bringing her sword down on him.
Goosebumps ran through Zayne's body as he instinctively defended himself with his sword before he could even turn around.
"What the hell...?" Selania muttered with a pale face. Her sword, crossed with Zayne's, blocked his right eye, so Selania could only see her reflection in his left eye, which had turned as red as a ruby splashed in blood.

"Well, I'm not seeing a huge monster this time, I'm alone, and that's what I need." Zayne whispered with real joy and slight consternation.
Splash.
ραΠdαsΝοvel.cοm Zayne swung his sword, leaving a long, bleeding cut on Selania's arm. Her face twisted in pain, but she continued her attack, gradually overwhelming Zayne.
At the limit of his power, taking everything out of his body, Zayne blocked every attack, however, it could not last long. Selania moved around him at breakneck speed, in seconds, she could change her position several times and quickly get behind him.
Small scratches, grew into cuts that covered Zayne's entire body, slowly weakening him.
"You're strong, you could definitely beat me if we met later, in a few years, but you don't stand a chance now." Selania said calmly, then she whispered, "Azure Step, Part Three."
Selania's whole body was covered in blue flame for a moment and the next moment she was several meters behind Zayne, with a bloody sword.
Crackle.
A stream of blood gushed from Zayne's shoulder with a wide-open cut. All he could do was clutch at the wound and bite his lip to keep from screaming in pain.
"You know, this skill wastes a lot of mana, but the effect is worth it. I guess you won't survive the next attack." Selania said as her legs burst into flames again.
Zayne had less than fifty percent HP left, and he suffered serious injuries that could not go away without consequence.
'Damn... Though I didn't want this, it looks like I have no choice. Knight... though I don't know your name, together we will avenge you.' Zayne inwardly muttered as his face turned pale before what awaited him.
Crackle. Crackle. Crackle.
Energy, like an enraged beast began to rage through Zayne's body, causing him to feel terrible pain from the opening, and bleeding wounds on his body.
"Sacrificial Path... What a fitting name... Strength in exchange for pain..." Zayne muttered as his health plummeted below 25%.
[One of your Titles has been activated - Wild Metamorphosis!]
Just now, cumulatively, Zayne's stats went up by more than 70%, so even though he had less than 1/4 of his health left, his aura gave Selania goosebumps.
Tremble.
Zayne turned sharply as their swords collided, sending waves of powerful recoil at Selania.
"What did you do...? Did you hurt yourself...? Wait... Did that skill...?!" Selania's eyes went wide with the realization of what was happening.
"You know... Your flame is blue, but it's not hot at all, and it's not cold either... I doubt it should be." Zayne muttered as a flash of energy went through his sword.
"Flame of Sorrow - First Form: Azure Cross..." Zayne whispered as the temperature around him dropped dramatically.
