"As we are aiming high, our standards should also be on par with our ambitions," Roland stated as he glanced through the people around.
From one observation alone, one could tell that all of them were people who had some background regarding combat. As a security company that sells all kinds of security services to other people, they must have sufficient ability to be hired as bodyguards.
"First things first. I will inspect your guys ability to handle hand to hand combat and self-defense, as well as other tactics that a bodyguard must know. Does this building have a training area for its members?" He stated as he scanned the people around the room.
The people in the meeting room looked at each other. Only three of them had a serious expression on their face as they heard Roland's statement.
For the others, they were of course confident of their martial combat ability. After all, they were bodyguards who have received training from grandmaster level figures before.
However, Fred, Gonzalo and Benjamin did not think the same way as them. If it was before, they would surely not be worried about their standards. However, they have already seen Roland immobilizing two well-trained professionals before, and the way he handled it was mind-blogging in their eyes. His strength was unusual and he was like a raging bull facing a thin wooden fence when they saw that scene from the CCTV footage back then.
Compared to Roland, their standard was not something to be proud of at all. Knowing that, the three of them looked at each other as if telling the other person to lead the way to the training room.
On the other hand, Alfred frowned after seeing that Fred and his men did not move. This was this place so it should be a given that they lead and guide the way for everyone. As for Roland's inspection? He did not worry about it at all. After all, he was a grandmaster figure in martial arts and he was the one who trained the first batch of bodyguards of Protect Life Security Company.
He looked at Fred and glanced at him as if telling him to lead the way. Seeing that he was targeted, Fred could feel depressed as he finally took a step forward.
Roland smiled and followed after him along with the others.
A moment later, they arrived at a spacious room much bigger than the meeting room. It was at least four times bigger and from the looks of it, it might have even occupied one-fourth of the entire floor due to how massive it was.
At the center of it were interlocking soft mats that were probably built for safety purposes.
Roland walked in front of the silent Fred and faced everyone's present.
"Alright, let me see your fighting skills," he said as he proceeded to take off his watch, pulled out his phone and handed it to One who received it without complaint.
Of course, he would test their skills personally, if not, who would test them? One? That would be simply overkill, right?
pAn,Da n<0,>v,e1 On the other hand, seeing that Roland was getting ready to spar, Fred and the other two gulped a mouthful of saliva nervously. Fred was only a manager and didn't need to have fighting skills so his reaction was not as intense as the other two. Benjamin and Gonzalo were both chief level figures in their branch, so they were afraid that they might get chosen to become Roland's sparring partner.
They shrank their necks as deep as possible like a turtle. They tried to hold their breath, as if afraid that their existence would get noticed by Roland or the other people around.
On the other hand, seeing that Roland was getting ready, Alfred felt that he was truly arrogant. With his figure, how could he think of fighting them, trained professionals in a match? Was he that arrogant, or was he actually confident?
Even the two bodyguards on his side felt the same including Cred who has been silent since earlier. However, Roland was their new boss so they could only endure it for now. However, they thought that this was the best chance to teach him a hard lesson that there was always someone better above them.
On the other hand, seeing the Fore City Branch's actions, Alfred and Cred frowned in displeasure. They thought that they were simply cowards and that they might be afraid of being fired like the other two earlier if they chose to fight with Roland.
A moment later, Roland visibly frowned seeing that no one decided to step forward.
Seeing his expression, Fred hurriedly stepped forward and said with a hint of nervousness, "This, Sir, are you planning to have a sparring match with them?"
His tone was respectful but with the hint of nervousness on it. He also dispelled the fact that he will be fighting, leaving him away from danger that was Roland.
Roland nodded his head in response to his question. Fred then said, "Then, won't it be better to have protective gear so that no one would get injured so badly?"
The reason he said this was because he was afraid that anyone who would face Roland would surely vomit blood like the bodyguards of that Ramborghini manager before. He felt that if possible, those who sparred with Roland should wear at least two protective gears over the other just to be safe.
However, the others thought that he was simply cozying up to Roland. At least, Alfred and the others thought that he proposed that for Roland's safety. Indeed, ignorance is bliss.
Roland thought that with his precise control over his strength, there won't be any problem, however, just to be safe he decided to agree with Fred's proposal.
With that, Fred immediately moved to get a pair of boxing gloves and other protective gears. Roland immediately wore them, while one of Alfred's bodyguards went up to take the challenge.
As he went up, Alfred even whispered something to his ears, "Don't hold back too much."
