Extra's Death: I Am the Son of Hades
Chapter 620 - 620: Lady Of The Spring, A Family Neo Never HadYaleth couldn’t move. His body had been frozen from fear, and the simple pressure from the man’s gaze was crushing him alive.
‘They said the blessing had healing ability.’
‘So why is he here?’
Most blessings had the God Parents’ Intent.
Yaleth had predicted that the Monarch of Death and the Lady of Spring used their energies instead of Intent to create a blessing for Neo, which was why the blessing gave him abilities of two different nature.
‘But the blessing had Intent from both Godparents? How is that possible?’
Yaleth’s body shuddered. He wanted to lower his gaze, but he couldn’t even look away by his own will.
‘We are screwed.’
The Absolute Judgement.
The Undefeatable Monarch.
The Prime Death.
Anyone worth a dime would’ve heard those names. They belonged to the Monarch of Death, Hades.
Hades had lived and disappeared during the Universe Creation Era. Still, people feared and revered him to this day.
A mere mention of the name would make people shudder.
‘Velkaria, and I both were the cause of his son’s harrowing life.’
‘No way he is going to spare us.’
This was why Yaleth had been against manifesting Hadean Light Blessing. The risk was too high.
But in the end, he had listened to Velkaria and—
‘No, there is no point in blaming the past.’
‘I need to think of a way out.’
He had already given up on living. They would be killed, that much was guaranteed.
But he hoped they weren’t ‘punished’.
The punishment from the God who was once called Absolute Judgment would definitely be infinitely worse than death.
“Uh—”
Yaleth opened his mouth to speak, but Persephone was faster.
“I’ve been hoping to meet you two for so long.”
She moved towards Velkaria who was still confused.
Her hands moved to hold the floating eyeball. Waves of energy pulsed from her hands. The energy hit Velkaria and an astonishing transformation occurred.
The corruption on Velkaria’s physical form receded.
Her muscles twitched and she slowly transformed into a humanoid figure.
She looked like an 18-year-old human girl. Her figure was proportional, and she had an extremely beautiful face. Her black hair had lavender sheen, and she had amethyst eyes.
“H-huh? W… what is this?”
Velkaria was stunned.
She touched her face and body with trembling hands. Her eyes were wide from shock.
“I have restored your original form too. Now, you can switch between your Void Angel appearance, your true appearance, and this human appearance. This one is easier to move around, so I let you be like this now, but you can try to change.”
Persephone smiled sweetly.
“Thank you for being with my son during the times he was all alone.”
Then, it hit Velkaria.
This was a gift from Persephone.
Velkaria wanted to laugh. Gift? Being together with Neo?
They had been enemies who fought and killed each other for centuries.
But at that moment, Velkaria couldn’t say anything to Persephone.
Her breath hitched, and tears dripped from her eyes. The fact that she could change back to her original appearance, something she had given up long ago, made her lose composure.
She clasped her trembling hands.
A power pulsed from her chest, and she transformed again.
This time, her human body turned into a translucent energy that looked like radio wave frequencies. She still maintained the shape of a human body.
Six large white wings appeared on her back, and two small white wings appeared on the base of her neck.
A golden halo materialized above her head.
Looking at her hands, Velkaria’s tears burst forth as if a dam had broken.
Long before she was corrupted by Void, she was a ‘celebrity’ on her planet. People praised her for her beautiful voice, and her appearance.
But everything was destroyed after a Void Window opened on her planet.
Her friends were killed. The people who praised her disappeared. She became an abomination, and the sole survivor.
She had wanted to die.
She had tried to kill herself.
But she wouldn’t die.
Because she was her planet’s Sacred Treasure. Because she was the cumulation of all talent it could muster.
Back then, the news had brought only despair to her.
But after seeing everyone become eldritch horrors, she had decided to kill them. Her friends. Her people. Her world.
Then, she would die along with it.
Velkaria didn’t want to kill anyone. She wanted to go back to the days where her biggest concern was her bed hair.
However, those times would never return.
Just when she had fallen into the depths of despair, Yaleth had appeared.
‘Hoh? I came here quickly because I sensed the opening of a Window, but to think there was a survivor.’
‘You must have high compatibility with Void. You, do you want to become my Angel?’
Yaleth had killed everyone on her world, and sealed the World Spirit. He had saved her the fate of killing her friends and people with her own hands.
That was why Velkaria devoted herself to him.
Yaleth was far from a benevolent God, but he helped her when she needed help the most. That was why she did everything he asked of her.
But…
She still hated hearing her grating voice.
She hated looking in the mirror and seeing her disgusting appearance.
It reminded her of the past. A past she could never escape.
It reminded her of the massacres she had done. The choice that dipped her hands into the ocean of blood.
“T-thank you.” She hugged Persephone with all her might. Tears continued to fall from her eyes.
Persephone was completely covered by her wings that had wrapped around her.
She smiled and patted her back.
The Lady of Spring had read the memories of Velkaria in the split second she healed her. But she didn’t blame her for being a hypocrite who lost her planet, then did the same to others.
Because this was how their Cosmos was built.
Because the Heavenly Laws demanded bloodshed and conflict if one wanted to continue living.
Velkaria was just one of the victims of the twisted Heavenly Laws.
“A-are you not going to punish us?” Yaleth finally asked, squeezing the words out of his mouth. “We have h-hurt your son.”
The one who answered was Hades, not Persephone.
“If he needs us to solve his every little problem, then he has no right to call himself a Hargraves.”
“Oh, my.”
The temperature in the surroundings suddenly dropped.
Persephone let go of Velkaria, and looked at Hades with a smile that didn’t reach her eyes.
“Is that how you think, dear?”
Her gaze clashed with Hades. It seemed as though the two were locked in a staring contest.
Finally, Hades looked away and clicked his tongue.
He took a step and disappeared from the place, going outside. His speed was so fast that Nameless Death couldn’t track him.
“Sigh,” Persephone let go of her frosty expression, and shook her head. “He is still the same as ever. Not showing his true feelings.”
She looked at Yaleth.
“As for your question, since Neo has forgiven you two, then we as his parents will obviously support his choice.”
Afterwards, the trio left the subdimension and met with other Overseers.
They were shocked, and happy. There was no news of where Hades had gone to, but everyone was too occupied by Persephone to ask about him.
Nameless Death, who had been following Persephone since he didn’t know Hades’ location, had a weird expression as he stayed with her for years.
“Is it me or is that Tyrant Firmament trying to curry favor with mom?”
Tyrant Firmament would wake up early and cook breakfast for Persephone. She would go on walks with her when she was bored.
Even Obitus and other Overseers had noticed her suspicious behavior.
“What are you doing?” Obitus asked when she finally had some time alone with Persephone. “I hope I am mistaken but are you thinking of making mother like you, so that you can get together with Neo. I’m warning you. Master is mine—”
“No,” Tyrant Firmament shook her head.
She wasn’t surprised by Obitus calling Neo her ‘master’.
Over the years, Obitus had grown.
She had come to understand that she was his sword, and his better half.
She was not someone who he would ever have romantic feelings for. The love Neo had for her was familial love.
“I’m just helping mother because I want her to be happy,” Tyrant Firmament answered.
Obitus narrowed her eyes, trying to see if Tyrant Firmament was lying.
‘She was born from Elizabeth’s Concept, and she has her personality.’
‘Since Elizabeth was direct, and never lied, I think it’s safe to say she isn’t lying right now.’
After Persephone’s appearance, the banters within the family continued.
Sometimes Obitus would be chasing Death Sword Firmament who stole her new clothes. After catching him, she could beat him into a pulp in the name of ‘educating’ him.
Sometimes Tyrant Firmament would get irritated by constant work, and leave to blow up a mountain or two to calm herself.
Sometimes, mortals, who were largely unaware of the existence of Overseers, would see a purple cat — Eyes of Echo Firmament — in their homes, demanding food.
When they gave it food, their lives would turn around from next day as if they had been blessed by gods.
Similar events created large rumors and later led to the creation of the Divine Cat Religion.
Everyone was still training hard, preparing for the day when the Cosmos would open, but now, they were no longer gloomy.
They would take breaks when they were exhausted. They would smile, they would fight, and they would share their stories with each other after a long day of exhausting work.
Neo’s creation could finally live happily like a family. A family that he never had, but one that he always wished for.
Nameless Death smiled.
Completing his observations, he moved to next targets.
He didn’t find Hades, so he kept searching for him while observing other targets. Years passed.
“Now, only Hades and END are left, I guess.”
Nameless Death still had no clue as to where Hades was. He decided to go towards END before searching for Hades.
“My time in this Cosmos is also coming to an end. I should finish my tasks here quickly.”
Reaching END was easy. It was located in a subdimension in the depths of the Cosmos.
He crossed several dimensional barriers, and appeared in a corridor.
“This is the END?”
A red carpet was laid on the ground, and golden lamps lit the corridor. It looked more like a hotel, than the place where the dead should be judged.
