Alex covered his eyes as light exploded from the beast cores during the birth of the Sun Wraiths. When he put down his arms, he saw two beasts: one a large vulture, and another a massive tiger.

Alex readied himself to fight, but the moment the two beasts appeared, the two beasts turned to each other and screamed. Within moments, the tiger stopped screaming and turned around before running away.

Alex watched in stunned silence at what had just happened. ‘Did the tiger get scared away?’ He looked at the bird with curious eyes. How strong was the bird to make the tiger have to run away?

With the two beasts in two different places, Alex wasn’t sure what he was supposed to do. If he went for one, would the other one run away? If that was the case, then the choice was simple, really.

Since the bird was stronger, he would stick with it.

Alex had only just made that decision when he heard a bunch of screams all at once from the distance. He turned to look far to his right and saw the tiger standing atop a massive dune.

From beyond that point, he could hear the screams.

A few warriors immediately flew out from behind the dune, attacking the tiger, but they were far too weak to be able to do anything to the tiger that had appeared out of nowhere.

They weren’t prepared for this fight.

Alex dropped all choices and ideas and ran toward the beast. It was still far in the distance, so he brought out his wooden sword, immediately slashing at the tiger.

A white slash of a weaker sort flew in an arc as it landed on the tiger’s back. The sword slash didn’t cut the tiger, but instead slammed it into the ground as if it was hit with a hammer.

The illusory tiger got back up, but by that point, Alex had already reached the section. He stopped for a moment and looked to the side, a wave of confusion passing through him.

There were nearly 5 dozen people in this place, with a large millipede attacking them from the base of the dune. He couldn’t imagine what these people were doing there at all.

But since they were there, he had to protect them.

He turned toward the tiger that seemed unafraid despite the damage it was dealt. It came down with its massive claw, smacking down on Alex.

The people behind him shouted for him to get out of the way, but Alex simply reached out with his hand and blocked the attack. His skin burned a little upon contact, but beyond that the tiger wasn’t strong enough to do anything.

“Are you guys okay?” Alex asked the warriors, all of whom were too shocked at that moment to speak.

Alex didn’t wait for their answer and turned toward the tiger. “Since physical attacks kill your kind, I will assume that my sword slash will do the same,” he said and placed his sword back into his storage bag.

The tiger roared, coming down on him with another swing. This time, Alex didn’t even attempt to block its attack. Instead, he dashed forward, moving past the claw until he arrived right before its head.

Because of the 3-meter radius around him, he needed to be close to the beast. Alex wasn’t sure if he needed to target the head itself, but it wouldn’t hurt to do everything as best as he could.

So, when he arrived before the head, Alex immediately used his attack.

Heaven’s Impact!

A mental force flew out of Alex, striking the tiger. Since the attack was spiritual, Alex hoped that it would knock out the tiger, while still keeping it a Sun Wraith.

As a being that was nothing more than an impression of a beast that was once alive, the tiger was extremely vulnerable to the mental attack. As a result, the moment it landed on it, the tiger was knocked out just as Alex had expected it to.

However, the moment its mind collapsed, the beast began dissipating once again. While the beast had a form, it was intrinsically linked to its mental self. So when it fell unconscious, everything that made the Sun Wraith a ‘beast’ was no longer present.

The beast didn’t dissipate like it did when Alex actually killed it. Instead, it slowly dissolved, the energy spreading out from the ‘dead’ Wraith.

Alex quickly ran up to it, trying to feel it.

“This!” he nearly shouted. “This is what I need!”

The aura he sensed from the dissolving body of the beast was exactly what he was looking for in the aura that he wanted to use to form his Sun Creation. He now had a source for what he wanted.

However, it wasn’t all good.

The way the Sun Wraith dissolved, it wouldn’t be too long before it completely spread throughout the desert. He needed to find a way to contain it.

The one way Alex saw of doing something like this was to directly send the Sun Wraith into his Soul Space, where it would hang around in the void of nothingness forever until the time he actually needed it.

Sun Wraiths were also incredibly violent, and at the same time feared stronger Sun Wraiths. While his Soul Space was large, there could be some issues placing many inside, so he wondered if he could find a way to deal with that ferocity.

He heard the beating of wings and turned to see the vulture flying into the sky before coming down toward the dead tiger’s body.

“Too violent,” Alex said softly as the bird slammed down on the tiger’s corpse, dissipating all of its energy instantly.

Alex couldn’t use it at that moment, so he was okay with it being wasted.

Still, he wondered what it was that made these beasts so angry. And above that, was there a way to form a Sun Wraith that wasn’t so angry and violent?

Surely if he tried to, he would find a solution eventually.
