As promised, I opened a portal to Muspelheim after being away from there for over a week, and invited Surtr and Emerald, and their families, along to this island. Apparently, more time for them had passed, as they spent most of their time inside their Divine Realms, helping raise their children quickly.

And well, I can’t blame them for going for that strategy, as I do the same thing. Children, even dragons, are quite vulnerable, so it’s better to let them grow fast inside of divine realms and their time dilation, while making sure to spend time with them, than to slowly wait for their growth.

“Wow! So this is Aquarius?! It’s amazing!” Surtr said. “This place is also way colder than Muspelheim, it’s almost refreshing…! And the smell of the sea is really nice too, nothing compared to the coasts of Muspelheim either.”

“Right?! This is the Aquarius Archipelago I had only seen from the skies, it’s incredible,” Emerald nodded at Surtr’s words. “Master, can’t we go swim at the sea?”

“Huh? Sure,” I nodded. “You guys are acting like kids out of nowhere though, hahaha! What’s gotten into you? Did you want to visit this ocean so badly?”

“It’s a mix of various things, honestly,” Surtr smiled. “But thank you for inviting us, master!”

“Maybe we needed to take a little break from all the training we’ve been going through,” Emerald nodded. “Aaaah! T-The water is cold…!”

“Of course its cold Emerald, it’s the sea, hahaha!” I laughed, splashed into the oceans and sending them flying away.

SPLAAASH!

“Come on, let’s have a friendly dragon brawl in the oceans! It’ll be fun, let out all your damn stress! Being a father is not that easy after all, we need a break every now and then!”

“Haha! I’ll take your word for that then, master!”

“Sure!”

Surtr and Emerald agreed with my little challenge, as we started wrestling and brawling in the seas, splashing each other with water, creating small tsunamis in the way as well.

SPLASH! SPLASH! SPLASH!

I spent the night partying with them and their families. Their kids had grown a little more now and could walk on their own and could even say a few words sometimes. They played happily with Drakda, who was still baby-like.

Although Benladra, Kate, and their friends from Aquarius also went to check on them, especially little Triton, that brat seemed to smile after he saw more baby dragons, making them join some sort of “Dragon Guild” he had invented in his head.

“From now on you guys are Dragon Guild Members! Only for dragons!” Triton said with a smile, as Surtr’s babies roared cutely, raising their little hands.

“Raaarrr!”

“Raaahh!”

They seemed to like the idea, even though they might not understand it that much, but they were adorable as they practiced their dragon roars.

“Gryar!”

However, the cutest of them was Emerald’s daughter, her roars were even smaller, like little chirps, she made everyone melt their hearts.

“Gryar! Grya!”

“Yes, you too! Wind Dragons are rare! You’re cool!”

“Gryeeh!”

The little girl ran towards Triton and leaped over his head, hugging him.

“Uwaagh?! Hey, get off me!”

The kids laughed at his misfortune; it seemed that Ameraldhia ended being the wildest of the “new kids” as they called them.

But they adapted pretty quickly, and they were really sweet as well, it made me happy we’ve built such a strong community between families that even our kids get along and become friends.

And it’s even more important for them to grow with many of their fellow dragons, seeing how the world had almost made our kind extinct.

But eventually, the fun would end, and we would have to resume our travels.

The day ended with a sweet note, but the next morning, I was ready to keep moving…

Benladra and Kate wanted to stay for longer with their friends, and I understood them for that, so as I decided to move on, I told them something.

It took me a lot of effort and time to think about it… but they were already pretty big, and both girls were very smart, they could survive on their own if they wanted.

“You don’t have to stick around with your parents anymore if you don’t want. Technically both of you are now developed young dragons, it is now when you start to walk on your own and abandon the nest, usually,” I said. “So… you’re free to stay if you want to be with your friends. I won’t force you to come with me to this periligious journey… and if this makes you happy, then I’ll be happy as well, right?”

“Y-Yeah… It pains me but…” Benladann sighed. “If you girls want to walk your own path too, and you find it annoying to always follow us, well, you’re free to go.”

“Indeed,” Andromeda nodded.

“Mom… dad…” Benladra muttered, shocked by our words. “I… I’m really grateful! Thank you for saying that… it does makes me feel a bit freer but… no, I am not going to leave your side.”

“Hm, although the prospects of exploring the world on my own are fun, I want to stay with mom and daddy for now,” Kate nodded. “Until I get bigger and more adult-like.”

“Oh… well, if you insist, that’s alright too!” I nodded. “Damn it, we made a whole speech and all…”

“Heheh, well it just shows that you care!” Benladra giggled cutely. “Once I get a bit older though, I’m going on my own dad! I want to explore and make my own life too… well that doesn’t mean I’ll forget everyone else though, I’ll come visit regularly!”

“Hoh, is that so? Just thinking about that makes me really sad! Kids sure grow fast…” I sighed, as she giggled, kissing my cheek.

“But for now I’ll stay! I love you dad…!” she hugged me tightly. “Don’t get sad, I’m not leaving! …yet.”

“Hahaha! Cheeky brat, I know you will eventually leave anyway,” I laughed, patting her head. “But I’m glad you’re sticking around for now…”

“Me too, I’m sticking around much longer…” Kate said. “Perhaps a few hundred years.”

“Yeah!” Benladra nodded. “We dragons age pretty slowly right?”

“H-Hundreds of years? Wait… well, if you insist…” I muttered, realizing these girls really didn’t want to leave us.

After that small conversation, it was time to say goodbye for now. It was definitely a brief visit, and I would’ve wished it was longer, but right now, with everything happening and that omen from Oblivion, I believed we were in some sort of race against time, and we had to get moving quickly.
