Wu Long and his beauties, escorted by Butler Bang and his subordinates, as well as accompanied by Helian Muyang and his lover, arrived in the Sky Harbor again, but this time, instead of going toward the open area, first passed through the gate leading to the port used by the nobility, and then through there, arrived at the small fortress standing over the entire Sky Harbor.
This fortress not only was the stronghold overseeing the sky traffic, but also housed the exclusive harbor of the Imperial Family.
It was here that Wu Long met Princess Wei Zhenhui and Chen Hui who came out to send them off, as well as happily grinning 9th prince, Wei Yuanjie, who was allowed to go on an adventure.
Behind Wei Yuanjie stood his bodyguard as well as the four additional guards of his palace. If before they looked at Wu Long more neutrally, now there was a slight hostility in their gazes.
‘Heh, she didn’t like me getting her son out to have a bit of freedom that much huh?’, Wu Long thought as he saw that gaze, full of caution since all of them knew his strength, ‘Well, regardless, they’re not coming to really interfere but to spy for her, so I can largely just leave them be’
He then shifted his attention to the Princess and Chen Hui.
“We will be in touch”, Wu Long spoke, nodding to the two.
“Eh? That’s it?”, Chen Hui almost stumbled on the spot, as he thought Wu Long was going to leave some profound parting words.
“What else is there?”, Wu Long chuckled, “I’m only leaving to deal with some urgent matters, it’s not like I’m not coming back. It’d be easier if your position was more stable without me, so I would have less work to do when I do come back to put you on the throne, but then again you would be in danger in that case, so for now your weak position is your shield”
“We are grateful for all you did for us already, Daoist Wu. Even if, by a chance of fate, we ultimately fail in achieving the throne, what we gained from you is already more than we can repay”, the Princess made a polite, very light bow, minding her position as an Imperial Family member and that there were people around.
‘Heh, seems she already likes him way more than he knows’, Wu Long narrowed his eyes, as there was a hidden meaning in her words. He then nodded, “Don’t worry, Your Highness. With me on your side, the chances you will fail to achieve the throne are trivial”
She smiled, shaking her head at this boldness.
They exchanged a few more words, not minding Wei Yuanjie’s guards from the beginning of the conversation since Wu Long was using the Sound Rune, and thus discussed emergency measures of protection for Chen Hui and the Princess that Wu Long prepared.
And after saying their farewells, Wu Long’s group went toward Wei Yuanjie.
“Hahaha, it took you some time to get here. To make not one but two Imperial Family members wait for you… as arrogant as ever. I like it!”, Wei Yuanjie spoke with a grin.
“It seems you are in a good mood, Your Highness”, Wu Long chuckled.
“Of course! I am going out on an adventure! Imperial Father even allowed me to take out an Imperial Treasure for the travels!”, Wei Yuanjie spoke, and just as he spoke, a medium-sized ship flew out from within the gates of the fortress, gliding through the air toward the pier they were standing on.
Wu Long’s beauties widened their eyes at the sight.
“This here, is a flying treasure ship”, he spoke, and then added after shielding them with the Sound Rune, “They are a bit more common in the higher Boundless Worlds, but here in the Boundless Profound World you would only meet them in possession of Imperial Households and largest Sects, and even they would have at most 2-3 of them, some would have only one. But even in higher Boundless Worlds the most common commercial transport is Beasts of Burden”
“Wait. is that why…?”, Cao Xiang gasped, turning to him.
Wu Long smiled, nodding to her, “Yes, that ship has sentimental value to you, so I felt it was appropriate rather than having to build a new one”
Cao Xiang wondered why Wu Long ultimately decided to take her enormous castle treasure ship with them, placing it within Fen Baihu’s Mystic Realm. It made far more sense to leave it in the Boundless Mortal World where it be of more use than simply staying in storage.
She smiled toward him, and he smiled back. He initially wanted it to be a surprise for her, but it was impossible to keep it now that they saw one of these and she guessed his goal in taking away that ship. But even this smile, was already a reward for him.
“Is that why you are searching for that Forging Master?”, Lian Zhiqiu asked, intrigued by the idea.
“Mm”, he nodded again, “While it is possible to make that ship float with Formations alone, it would be an enormous drain on Spiritual Stones to operate it with that size. The reason I am so fascinated by the retractable armor is the efficiency and ingenuity of the design of the Spiritual Qi circuits that make it work. If we rebuild parts of the ship with that, it should work very well”
Lian Zhiqiu nodded, understanding the logic. Ultimately, Formations would better work atop the existing structure created by good Forging Masters for something that would be an essentially a flying fortress. Not to mention, that ship would have to be heavily fortified with a protective Formation on the scale of the one they built around the Oak Fortress.
“If we do build it, it would be the largest flying treasure ship within the Boundless Profound and Boundless Origin Worlds, and our reliable mobile fortress”, Wu Long concluded, signaling the ladies that they would continue this conversation later, as he had to put down the Sound Rune barrier, the ship having arrived.
Wei Yuanjie who was boasting about the ship this whole time as it was coming toward them, was completely satisfied with the awed reaction of Wu Long’s group, concluding his boasting about the ship with a wide grin, “Hehehe, so where is your ride?”
“What do you mean? It just arrived”, Wu Long pointed to the ship.
“Eh? What do you-…”, Wei Yuanjie’s face full of superiority and glee turned a bit lost as a small bridge extended from the ship to the pier, and Wu Long began directing his beauties aboard the ship.
The 9th prince somewhat powerlessly looked on, as the group boarded the ship, Helian Muyang and his lover slightly awkwardly lowering their heads to him as they passed him by, completely taking out Wei Yuanjie as it seemed that he would be the last one to board the ship.
“Ah, whatever…”, he then sighed with a defeated expression, shrugging his shoulders, “I guess I can’t argue with the God of Pleasure…”
And after he and his guards boarded the ship, it was seen off by the Princess and Chen Hui standing on the pier, as Wu Long’s group began their voyage back to the Soft Meadow Continent with comfort usually only restricted to the Imperial Family.
There was only one detour on their way, which was the Helian Family.
