Chapter 319: Hallow Tracer Ant

“Father.”

Imperia called out.

“Hmm?”

“Let me take you somewhere.”

The little Ant spoke as she popped out of her father’s shirt pocket. The coat Kael was wearing now covered even her. It made the little Ant feel so comfortable that she decided to stay inside her father’s pocket and have a little nap while her father, big brother, and Lavinia spent time together.

However, now that the little Ant knew they were done and were about to return to the Ashen Heights, she had no choice but to wake up.

After all, she still had work to do.

The little Ant adorably rubbed her big eyes. Kael gently patted her head with his finger and,

“Where do you want to go?”

He questioned.

Imperia then pointed in a certain direction and Igni descended according to her instructions.

With Igni’s speed, it only took about 10 minutes to land where Imperia wanted them to. Kael looked around the area, and Imperia started explaining.

“This is the North-West Border of the Ashen Heights, a region we would have entered from if we had travelled through the mountains like we had initially planned.”

Kael nodded. He remembered the twelve-day journey he had planned that included crossing a mountain just so he could travel together with the Ants.

“Ashen Heights is a vast land, but most of it is covered in tall, rocky mountains. The entire western side was filled with these large, sharp peaks.

At the middle is the plain ground where the Velmourns live, and as we continue further down east, the land slowly slopes down, where the mountains become smaller and the cliffs meet the sea. That is the place where we came to.”

The Ant explained.

Kael nodded. He also took out the map of Ashen Heights that Morvain had given to him and nodded again. The map gave him a clearer picture.

*Map*

“We currently stand about 800 kilometres away from the main civilization, meaning that we can return in about 2 hours if Brother Igni flies at his normal speed.”

The little Ant mentioned another fact.

“You Ants managed to reach this far, huh?”

Kael muttered, a little taken aback.

“They have been at it ever since we got here.”

Imperia nodded.

“They are exhausted.”

“You do not have to push them so hard. We have time.”

“Yes, I have allowed them to rest for a week. They also need time to build a colony here. The land here is hard, they won’t be able to penetrate it on their own.”

Imperia mentioned another problem.

“Can I help in any way?”

Kael questioned.

He knew next to nothing about Ant colonies, but he could follow Imperia’s instructions and do whatever she tells him to.

This was the least he could do for the Ants who have done so much for him.

“It is alright, I have already found a solution, Father.”

Imperia answered responsibly.

“What solution?”

Kael narrowed his eyes. Soon, however, his expression changed.

“Did you…?”

The Ant nodded with a small, adorable grin on her face.

“Already?”

Kael raised his eyebrow in amazement.

“My children got external help. You can say I was fortunate.”

She chuckled.

“What do you mean?”

Kael questioned with a frown. Imperia, on the other hand, just smiled as she then pointed in a certain direction.

Kael turned around, and his eyes fell on a 15-centimetre-big Ant with a delicate, crystalline figure. Her golden body refracted light like a prism. She seemed delicate but strong at the same time. Her golden wings were large enough to allow her short bursts of flight, and her eyes seemed like they had the ability to process everything she saw at a supernatural speed.

*Picture*

Kael raised his eyebrows as he glanced at her. This was the first time he was seeing this species of Ants. He turned towards Lavinia, and even she was surprised, showing that she was as clueless as him.

Kael’s eyes turned golden as information regarding the creature in front of him appeared in his eyes,

’Hallow Tracer Ant Queen…?’

Kael frowned. Although the stats and strengths were indeed something he couldn’t just ignore, he still wanted more information.

Imperia, who knew what her Father was thinking, smiled lightly and began explaining again,

“Hallow Tracer Ants are similar to Whisperveil Ants. While the Whisperveil Ants are used to spy on targets, these play a more accurate role as scouts and explorers.

They are tiny and swift, move silently, and emit no scent. Their vision is attuned to heat and mana signatures, making them ideal for mapping, detecting magical traps, and locating hidden paths or ruins.

It was also a Hallow Tracer Ant that discovered the Whisperveil Ants that I sent here, allowing me to get in contact with them.”

“You can… get in contact with other Ants without having to be there yourself…?”

Kael questioned, a little surprised.

“Of course.”

Imperia nodded as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

“My influence over my children goes above blood or direct contact. No ant that is not a direct enemy would attack my children but would be attracted towards me instead.

This was also why, instead of avoiding my Ants like a Hallow Tracer usually would, it got close, revealed its existence non-threateningly, and took my Whisperveil Ant to her Queen, allowing me to make contact with her.”

The Mother of All Ants explained as she pointed at Zhaxah.

As if acknowledging her words, Zhaxah lowered her head, greeting her Mother and her Mother’s Father.

Kael blinked in surprise. This wasn’t the first time this had happened, but it was still surprising nonetheless.

Soon, however, his expression changed as he sensed something. It wasn’t just him, Igni was the same,

“Father.”

The Dragon called out.

Kael nodded as well. Both the Father and Son had wary looks on their faces, but then—

“Do not worry, Father.”

Imperia smiled lightly.

“Are they…?”

Kael blinked, and the little Ant nodded.

“After making contact with Zhaxah, finding all other Ants in this region wasn’t difficult. So I made contact with them all and admitted them into my Family.”

“So… all these are…”

Kael muttered, a little taken aback as he looked around,

“Yes, they are all mine.”

Imperia nodded, and Kael gulped as he stared at tens of thousands of Ants of different sizes surrounding him.
