Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4508: Free Of Half The Covenant

Chapter 4508: Free Of Half The Covenant

Davis and the others bid farewell to Mingzhi and Stella.

They were in the Great Desolate Plains, still a few hundred kilometers away from the secret realm, but they closed the distance easily in a few minutes. While traversing these deserts, Davis was hit with a sense of nostalgia.

When he had come here, he established the First Void Dust Sanctuary and sent out Clara and the others to look for Shirley, Isabella, and Evelynn, who had separated from them after the Candidacy. He had been worried sick at that time. Remembering it, he couldn’t help but think it was for nothing since not only did they bring them back, but all of them had become powerful.

Nowadays, the reputation of the Earth Dragon Villainess and Icefire Phoenix Demoness far precedes the likes of him among the supreme geniuses. That wasn’t to say that they didn’t fear him less. No, they feared him more.

As soon as they stepped into the core area where the space was engulfed in a sealing formation that strictly kept the space only accessible to Immortal Emperors and Sovereigns, people cast a look at them.

Things already seemed to be chaotic. However, they froze in their tracks.

"Woah~ It’s a merchant town~" Eterna uttered in a melodious voice.

She instantly walked over to a shop and began looking for something that may catch her eye.

The shopkeeper was stunned. The beauty was so close by his side that he could see her side profile.

She was dressed in a beautiful crimson robe, her face hidden in a pink veil. Contrary to her fiery hair, her sapphire eyes were like a pair of pearls found in the ocean. Her eyes blinked adorably as she was searching for some wares, catching his heart.

But his eyes still couldn’t resist going to her bosom. They were big.

"Eterna, don’t stop there. There’ll be more on the other side." Davis called out.

"Yes, father..."

Eterna pouted.

She obediently returned and followed them.

Davis and the others continued to walk, heading towards the pagoda at the center. They could see a spatial vortex before the structure, knowing it would lead to the secret realm.

"My eyes...! I can’t see...!"

Before a shout came from behind, many people were trying to flee. They didn’t make a single sound, but once that shopkeeper grabbed his eyes and yelled out, they no longer hesitated. They ran for their lives, pushing and carving their way out while some women also screamed like they were going to die.

Davis nearly flinched.

"So exaggerated..."

He commented, but Tia giggled, "Big brother, what did you do to him?"

"I just cast an illusion over his eyes. He should be able to see in two to three days..."

Davis shrugged.

Someone wanted to ogle his daughter that close? Then they must surely pay a price, so he punished him lightly.

"Father~" Eterna placed a hand on her hips.

She didn’t look impressed, "I can fight my own battles now. You- don’t- interfere...!"

She jabbed at his shoulders repeatedly, causing him to laugh, "Nope. Hahaa."

Eterna pouted. It wasn’t like it was the first time she was ogled at. However, as long as they didn’t stare too intently, she didn’t bother with them. If they dared to mess with her, then she would show them what pain meant.

Honestly, she was embarrassed to be overprotected, but looking around, she saw that everyone was running for their lives after packing up their wares, many outright just leaving it there.

A few minutes later, Davis, Evelynn, Nadia, Tia, and Myria walked out of the spatial vortex.

Davis raised his hands and clenched his fists, feeling himself suppressed. It was as expected, so he wasn’t surprised.

Eterna, Celestia, and Lucian came after, Eterna jumping and running out with her hands spread as she spun around and touched her cheeks, breathing in the new air of the secret realm as she smiled. Her cheerful nature made everyone smile.

But there was someone else who came forward and frowned, "Elder sister, how many times do I have to tell you to keep your appearance in public? Father is also with us, so don’t embarrass him."

"Hehe~ Come on, let’s go~"

Eterna paid no heed to Celestia’s stern chiding. Instead, she grabbed Celestia’s hand and took her away.

"Ah, only Celestia is dependable..." Davis sighed before he turned to look at Lucian.

Lucian nodded, going with them.

"Seems like we may have to stay for a while," Tia’s lips curled, "It’s also my first time coming out after a long period of seclusion. Can I go with them?"

"Why don’t we take a walk together, Tia?"

Davis reached out his hand, causing Tia to blink. She looked as though she didn’t expect it, but nodded.

"It would be my honor."

"I’ll keep an eye on them." Nadia, who was on Davis’s shoulder as a little wolf, disappeared.

"Myria, we’ll go for a walk."

Evelynn reached out her hand, causing Myria to blink before she grabbed her hand and left together, leaving Davis and Tia all alone.

"They’re all so considerate." Davis chuckled, "Shall we go have some food?"

"Maybe find some ice cream~" Tia’s cheeks turned rosy behind her veil, her heart palpitating.

It had been a really long time since she held his hands.

While they walked forward, the town was... deserted.

It seemed like the geniuses were more information savvy, already fleeing after they heard that the Divine Emperor of Death was going to visit, but many people already knew that this was the first day of the ten-year period was over, so every supreme genius here was extra careful.

Nonetheless, it didn’t mean it was fully deserted.

There were still people around, those who had to stay and do business no matter what, because their life was at stake or they had something important to do.

Davis found one such restaurant to have a date with Tia. The server there had their hands shaking incessantly, appearing to have difficulty even carrying the glass of luxurious ice cream.

Meanwhile, Evelynn and Myria went around to collect information.

"It seems like third sister and the others hadn’t been able to make it today."

Evelynn said after her soul sense made some rounds.

"Well," Myria offered an explanation, "Considering that we haven’t made contact with them for two years but still hear rumors about them, I would say they’re far away from here. They are probably unable to come back since they have to race for Primarch Grade resources."

"Yes, they did previously state that even the people from the other galaxies were starting to pick up their pace in the seventh year." Evelynn nodded.

They walked in the streets slowly, when suddenly a person fell from above them. It appeared to be a black-robed person, and he seemed to have a dagger coated in poison grasped in his hand. His head was slung out of the neck, and blood spurted upon hitting the ground.

However, Myria and Evelynn both paid no heed, continuing to walk ahead while Evelynn’s six spider scythes slowly slid back into her spine.

On another side of the border town, Nadia’s claw slapped the head off an assassin who was about to pounce on Eterna. The head twisted all the way down, and the soul was struck dead. There was no blood, and Eterna, Celestia, and Lucian continued to have fun.

In the restaurant where Davis and Tia were, the assassin on the rooftop stayed crouched on the beams until they left. His eyes remained open as though he was having a panic attack, but if one looked closely, they could see his eyes never moved.

He was dead when Davis first walked into the restaurant.

The feeling of killing a Sovereign exhilarated him since the lousy third rule was no longer there. He could now kill anyone he pleased.

While Davis and Tia were chatting outside the restaurant, having a good laugh while flirting, a luxurious jade-robed, crimson-haired woman appeared in front of them.

High, gentle cheekbones complemented a gracefully curved jawline. Her slender, arched brows formed an enchanting pair of almond-shaped, golden eyes. A straight and delicate nose sat perfectly above her lips that curved at the corners, giving her the visage of a confident and alluring expression.

But her bearing was one of cold elegance, full of awareness.

Davis narrowed his eyes at his voluptuous figure a bit before he instantly recognized her.

"It’s you... Ragoon’s elder sister... Jiayi Ruo..."

"It’s Jiayi Crystalveil of the True Peak Emporium. It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Divine Emperor of Death."

Jiayi Crystalveil cupped her hands and bowed gracefully.
