Chapter 4498: Sixteen Realm Masters Gather
In a small celestial body that was beyond the realms in the vast empty space in the Second Layer, light began shining like a beacon, lighting up the entire floating continent.
No one housed it. Not a single soul could be seen there, yet it was one of the most important locations in the Second Layer.
It was not maintained. Yet, when the light shone like a radiant star, its majesty was unmatched. It was covered in what appeared to be a massive complex formation, one made from space, sound, light, and illusion, since such runes could be seen floating in the air.
Above the many immortal palaces and buildings was a colossal platform emitting a prismatic radiance, woven together by sixteen different colors. These colors stemmed from a throne each, and their radiance slowly took shape into different bodies.
However, they were not bodies but projections. There were sixteen in total. Even though they were just projections, each exuded a presence so absolute that the space itself seemed to bend. They have not spoken yet. Their silence carried the weight of stars.
"The Sixteen Firmament Realm Master Summit has opened, yet all of you have nothing to say?"
The first to break the silence was a woman shrouded in sunlight and petals, her shadowy form radiating a gentle yet sovereign grace of the Radiant Blossom Upper Realm. She appeared to be the current Realm Master, her voice soft and amused yet full of authority.
"Well, it’s not like we all enjoy good relations with each other, and we can’t whisper here to communicate secretly because this is nothing but an illusory-light formation that allows all to speak from vast distances. This setup is made so we don’t fight each other at the slightest offense, but it ends up keeping us quiet. Quite an irony, don’t you agree, Star Blossom Fairy?"
"You’re right, Dream Shadow Fairy. That’s why it’s so boring that no one really attends."
The Star Blossom Fairy, Realm Master of the Radiant Blossom Upper Realm, nodded to Dream Shadow Fairy, the Realm Master of the Prismatic Dream Upper Realm. The former had their hair tied up in a high bun while the latter let it freely flow.
Because they were silhouettes, their features could not be seen properly, but they both had big bosoms.
The Dream Shadow Fairy continued, "True, it has been a while since we have gathered here. I’m surprised we are all attending when usually, it would be no more than five or six bored Realm Masters who attend. It reminds me of the mess the Void Autarch Upper Realm and Chrono Reign Upper Realm made."
"Ridiculous." The Void Autarch Upper Realm’s Realm Master abruptly harrumphed, "If you are going to bring that up, should we start finding fault with each other until we obtain nothing out of this summit?"
His aura flared, the void shaking in his presence.
The Dream Shadow Fairy narrowed her eyes, "The Void Autarch Upper Realm still seems to be powerful even after all that, although many people say that they’re hanging by a thread."
"Hurhur." He snorted, "You might want to visit and see if we’re hanging by a thread or letting others hang in our thread."
"Everyone, calm down." Suddenly, another voice interrupted, melodious yet full of authority, "I will be the overseer of this summit as per the rotation and interfere when matters get out of hand. We will stick to the topic at hand- to deal with the Anarchic Divergent, Divine Emperor of Death, who is currently on the verge of completing the Covenant’s ten-year period rule of not exiting the Whispering Wildlands Lower Realm. I trust no one has any objections?"
"..."
A period of silence was usually a tacit approval in summits. Most wouldn’t want to agree or disagree as it could cause needless loss in relationships.
Their silence caused her to nod, "Then I, Kyssara Stormsong, the Realm Master of the Thundering Serenity Upper Realm, will oversee this year’s Sixteen Firmament Realm Master Summit."
"White Flash Fairy, you have ended countless Divergents in your hands and even killed two Anarchic Divergents, one of them by yourself, your achievements matching that of Venerable Knights. We’ll have to depend on you to end the Divine Emperor of Death."
A new voice emerged, filled with calm, kindness, and a virtuous feel. He was the Realm Master of the Virtuous Dawn Upper Realm.
"The White Flash Fairy is grateful for the compliment, Imperial Dawn Venerate. Unfortunately, the Divine Emperor of Death is too powerful. I don’t think I can handle him alone at the same stage, so we’ll have to end him before he becomes a true threat."
"Aiya, who is able to handle him at the same stage?" An old laugh echoed, "At the same level, he’s too powerful that he will most likely die to his own tribulation or be ended by the Celestial Transcendent. You don’t need to feel down about it. Those monsters are always born undefeatable, sometimes invincible, much less this fiend. Because they disrupt this balance, they are suppressed by the heavens. Because they are different than us, you don’t need to compare yourself with them."
"Grand Alchemic Venerate, you are right."
The White Flash Fairy nodded softly. She panned her gaze at the others, "Right now, that calamity is slowly encroaching on us since the Venerable Knights failed to defeat him and even had engaged in a peace treaty, which is unbelievable. I suspect there is something greater playing out at a universal level. Regardless, our little ones are in danger since the Divine Emperor of Death could exit the Whispering Wildlands Lower Realm in a year. He could enter the secret realm and slaughter all our supreme geniuses who entered the Elemental Dimension. We must prevent it from happening no matter what, so our options are to bring them back or kill the Divine Emperor of Death."
"Ah, the former seems cowardly, but it’s the wisest move." Another voice echoed out with some tiredness, "In the Third Layer, it is already said that the Divine Emperor of Death is undefeatable, and because of his invincible life energy that keeps him alive even after inflicting him with so many injuries, even poisons are said to be useless. We couldn’t use powerful poisons at Exalt Grade since it would break the layer limit. Otherwise..."
He shook his head, sighing again.
"Severance Fang Overlord, I don’t mean to be rude, but we righteous powers refuse to use poison." The Grand Alchemic Venerate frowned, "Sure, we want the Divine Emperor of Death dead, but to use poison is-"
"I don’t want to hear about right and wrong about using poison when our entire bloodline is venomous." Severance Fang Overlord clicked his tongue in annoyance, "Are you denying our existence or painting us as black? We, the Emperor Cobra Upper Realm, won’t stand for that kind of tone."
"I didn’t mean that-"
"That’s enough." White Flash Fairy interrupted, "I won’t allow the topic to be changed, no matter the dispute. Continuing on-"
"Wait, you say he will head to the Elemental Dimension, but what if he heads to the Upper Realm?" The Star Blossom Fairy narrowed her eyes.
"The Covenant restricts him, but he’ll also use it to his advantage, staying in the Lower Realms for a hundred years."
"Are we sure that the Covenant really restricts him, considering he has flipped our horizons many times already?"
"Impossible." The White Flash Fairy shook her head, "The Celestial Transcendent personally cast that technique. How could the Divine Emperor of Death break it? I heard it becomes as powerful as his soul, so he wouldn’t be able to break it with brute force, and the time required for the Laws of that complexity would need an insane amount of time. Even if he could break the Covenant, it wouldn’t be anywhere in this century millennium."
"True," The Grand Alchemic Venerate laughed, "If he appears in the Upper Realms, then he would be signing his own death warrant. Even if he couldn’t die, he would definitely be sealed. He isn’t an unknown Anarchic Divergent to escape our watchful gaze, after all. Everyone will be after his head. If he ascends, it would be simply a matter of reaching out our hands and squashing an ant."
"..." The Star Blossom Fairy seemed unconvinced, "We think he’s young, but it’s better to treat him as an old monster. Isn’t his speed in comprehension simply insane? I’m going to think as though he could break it and make moves accordingly. My Radiant Blossom Upper Realm has decided to bring out my supreme geniuses from the Elemental Dimension, so speaking about this matter is useless to me."
"It’s good that you have made a decision regarding your supreme geniuses, but aren’t you overestimating him? Are you scared?"
Abruptly, a cold voice emerged, causing everyone to glare at the speaker as though they would like to kill him in the cruelest way possible.
"Darksea Abyss Venerate, Malzor Hexadra of the Six-Headed Hydra Upper Realm, what is your courageous opinion then?"
The Star Blossom Fairy’s gaze was colder than ice. Her cheerful voice had also turned chill, her mouth gritted with murderous emotions.
