Chapter 4416: Vowing To Be Together
Lea Weiss's voice echoed, her veil gently swaying as the breeze swirled around the open palace.
"Davis Loret, you are the shadow in which I found shelter. You are the silhouette that stood by my side, giving me untold strength. I once burned for duty, rose for legacy but with you, I have decided to burn for life. From this day forth, my flames shall not be mine alone and my tears shall accompany yours. I am Lea Weiss, and I choose you underneath the starlit skies as my one and only husband in this lifetime~"
Her voice was clear and strong, full of warmth.
Davis felt a swelling his heart, full of passion. Naturally, he felt a little embarrassed since the phoenix vow recital was for one-for-one, so he had modified it a bit.
"Lea Weiss, you were never just another star in my sky. You were the one that burned brightly, attracting me like a moth that willing threw itself to the flames. I am death. I am destruction. But you still embraced me and with you, I have experienced rebirth. You tempered the fire we created together. You showed me that I can share my burden with you. Before the realms, I vow that you are my eleventh wife. I, Davis Loret, the Divine Emperor of Death, will bring you happiness, walk along with you, shield you and if you were to ever fall, know that I will even raise death itself to catch you no matter the cost."
Ancestor Cornelia looked speechless. That was different than the script.
Davis felt sheepish, inwardly admitting that he may have embellished it a lot.
However, the crowd felt stunned.
That was basically admitting that he would revive her even if the Heavenly Laws were to say no.
They thought- as expected of an Anarchic Divergent, feeling envious to be so insolent against the heavens. They also wanted to be such a daring character.
*Bzzz~*
But suddenly just as their vows ended, the skies lit up with fireworks in the shapes of thunder feathers and different-colored lightning. The stormy clouds of cumulonimbus clouds burst into a radiant color, making the skies colorful along with all the glitter that the members of the Reaper Soul Legion spread across the peninsula.
However, everyone abruptly froze.
Abruptly, a massive image appeared in the skies. It was transparent and couldn't be seen properly. However, the elites instantly recognized it was the wings of a massive phoenix, its size practically unknown to them. It covered the entire peninsula, its wingspan reaching the edges and into the cumulonimbus clouds.
However, it didn't seem to be harmed one bit.
*Screeech~*
A resounding phoenix cry erupted from its gigantic silhouette, shocking countless people in the peninsula including Davis and Lea.
Davis nearly got ready to jump and deal with his sudden huge menace but only a second later did he realize this was a phenomenon.
Suddenly, he felt the need to use karmic eyes and he saw an incredible amount of karma fall on Lea. As he stared at her and the gigantic phoenix, a scarlet flame mark quietly burned into existence on her forehead, quickly disappearing as it came.
Davis saw it but didn't understand what it was, his heart in panic mode. However, he saw that the phenomenon already started disappeared. What was massive and encompassed the world for a mere three seconds appeared to be no longer present.
"This… is that the World Spirit Phoenix Blessing of the legends!?"
Abruptly, someone shouted from the crowd, startling Davis. He turned to look the Supreme Everlasting Empyrean whose eyes were practically bulging.
"Isn't that said to be the manifestation of the Divine Phoenix that karmically approves a love that can cross even dimensions?"
"You mean- they truly would go that far for each other?"
"What else does it mean if even the ancient spirit of the phoenix descended to bless the two of them? How could it be wrong?"
Two Realm Masters were confused, but the Supreme Everlasting Empyrean looked at them with annoyance, his jovial attitude nowhere to be seen.
"But… but they didn't even say the words right!" argued Realm Master Warren Auraflame of the Fire Phoenix Lower Realm.
He had also recited these words many times while marrying his wives, so how come he wasn't chosen!? How could his sincerity be lacking compared to the lousy Divine Emperor of Death who had like thirty wives when he was said to be too young?
All the people from the Fire Phoenix Lower Realm was envious. Even the Ice Phoenix Lower Realm was the same.
If this World Spirit Phoenix Blessing appeared for their marriages, how blissful and hopeful would they have been for the future?
Lea was also speechless. This was completely unexpected for her.
Naturally, she was also aware of this phenomenon. It was practically written at the end of the scripture that should they meet the ancient phoenix spirit, then their marriage would last long and the blessings would end up making them joyous in terms of life and cultivation.
It seemed like a dream, being so short and yet, she couldn't get her eyes out of the full magnificent view of the so-called Divine Phoenix that visited her. Its phoenix cry could also be understood by her, which said-
"Rejoice, descendant~ The blessings of the entire phoenix race will be upon you for finding a spouse who cares for you and you care for him until the universe is split apart~ The time will come when you can use the blessing as you see fit~"
"…"
Lea felt it was ridiculous. It was just one cry but she understood all of this in that instant. She felt like someone was playing a prank on her but just who could throw an illusion of this level when the defenses they placed were high?
After all, not only was Davis an Anarchic Divergent, but she was also a Divergent for learning apocalyptic flames.
How come the so-called ancient phoenix spirit approved of her? Did it not fear the heavens?
Davis also had the same doubt.
His heart shook, thinking it might not be the spirit of a Divine Phoenix but even further, a Mythical Paragon Magical Beast that was rumored to have left this universe.
