Fairy Runalise forcefully woke herself up.

However, she didn't seem to be under the starry sky but a ceiling. There was no light.

Her eyes adjusted to the darkness as her pupils darted left and right. She found herself in a strange location that appeared to be some sort of cave or a dungeon. Moving a bit, she found that she was chained, her cultivation sealed.

The chains bound her arms to the wall behind her while she knelt on the floor. Her legs also felt heavy. She saw that she was missing a leg.

Her lips couldn't help but twitch as she sensed something and, at the same time, saw that these chains belonged to the famous Stormsong Family of the Thundering Serenity Upper Realm. They helped seal Fiends, those who used death energy, but it was also perfectly capable of sealing other cultivators, including Heaven's Warriors.

Their white lightning was extremely powerful.

There were also numerous sealing inscriptions placed on her, which made her fume as she felt like she was treated like she was some kind of ghost or a horrifying oddity.

As the possessor of the Ethereal Jade Soul Physique, she was treated like a Celestial Fairy, but here, it seemed like she was trash. Regardless, she didn't expect to be treated well here.

Looking to the side, she found Heaven's Warrior Yubin, who was also chained and sealed in the same way.

At this moment, the Divine Emperor of Death finally walked inside after he pushed open a door in the distance. Blinding light entered through the door, but it quickly faded after the door was closed. Her eyelids fluttered as she adjusted her vision again, only to see five women behind him.

"Divine Emperor of Death!"

Fairy Runalise spat through her teeth with killing intent visible in her eyes.

She couldn't believe she had failed to kill him, much less was thrashed by his prowess even without that strange treasure having been used. She could only glare at him, thinking he was cheating with another treasure, perhaps that strange spear that was stupendously dense and strong. ᚱἈＮÓ฿ЁṢ

Otherwise, there was no way his prowess would simply be nineteen levels higher. It was ridiculous.

Any Empyrean would cry if they lost to an Immortal Emperor! The gap was just too high for them to lose. It would be an unspeakable shame on their cultivation journey.

Davis smiled lightly, "I can feel the intent of wanting to win against a rogue like me. It's just as you think. It wasn't entirely my prowess, although I wasn't far off. In any case, you could take it as my loss if you feel unhappy about the result."

"I don't need your pity. Release or kill me!"

Davis appeared amused. He walked closer and was practically only half a meter away. It was a distance where if Fairy Runalise swung her severed leg like a sword, then she might be able to cut off his head.

The situation seemed inviting, but Fairy Runalise barely held herself back from doing it, knowing this Anarchic Divergent was just playing with her. It seemed too good to be true. Now, she just wanted to die an honorable death instead of being humiliated like now.

She looked towards the white-robed woman whom she barely recognized as Fiend Myria.

"It doesn't matter who kills me. I know you all hate me as much as I hate you, so off with my head."

Myria blinked before she sighed ever so lightly.

From a young age, Heaven's Warriors were instilled with certain values that made them this way, on top of receiving Heaven's influence. She could tell this one grew up in an organization that adopts a kill-on-sight attitude towards Divergents. Although most Heaven's Warriors Organizations were that way, some organizations tended to develop hatred in their disciples, while others tended to develop a sense of justice and duty.

She could tell it was the former for this woman.

"You're from the Sacred Crusade League, aren't you?"

"Yes~" Fairy Runalise's voice was proud.

Myria nodded. From what she knew, the Divine Sentinel Order carried the most reason, while the Sacred Crusade League was more of a cult with their burning hatred for Divergents. On the other hand, the Astral Spring League was relatively new, so she didn't know much about it.

"Are you sure you want to die without informing others of our presence? I didn't think you were a coward with how brave you were in facing the greatest calamity of the era."

"Hmph~ The Quake Fist Sect will let the other Heaven's Warriors know of our last position. More and more Heaven's Warriors will chance upon your mini-realm and finally take your head and vanquish evil. It's only a matter of time."

Fairy Runalise seemed self-satisfied with that answer as she smirked.

Myria turned to look at Davis and shook her head.

It was as though she was indicating that there was no hope of any sort of negotiating, making Fairy Runalise take a deep breath.

She felt this was how it should be. Since she failed to eliminate the target and got captured, there was no honor in begging to be released. She didn't even want to threaten them, knowing it was useless.

Davis pursed his lips, nodding at Myria before he brought his hand out and held a coin at the tip of his fingers.

"Let's play a game."

"…?"

"You will choose either heads or tails and whichever side the coin's face is above when it reaches the floor and becomes still will be the winner. The winner can request something from the loser, meaning you could even buy your way out of this goddamn world and escape in one piece. Are you willing to play?"
