A thick gray fog swirled around the five of them, creating an oppressive atmosphere.
The Heaven's Warriors were separated, and so was Mystic Diviner Oscar, leaving behind the two Elders of the Quake Fist Sect, who remain together.
Elder Ramus and Elder Nonek had frozen, but they quickly reacted, instinctively moving closer to one another. Their breaths were visible in the unnaturally cold air.
"Stay together…!" Elder Ramus hissed as he covered one area with his senses, and Elder Nonek took care of the other side.
The space around them brimmed with energy as they unleashed their spatial undulations. They were indeed strong, appearing to have a battle prowess that was three levels higher. However, they still felt minuscule in front of his enormous pressure.
"Good day to you, humans~"
Abruptly, a melodious voice resounded from the surroundings, causing them to almost flinch.
They looked around, unable to find where this voice was coming from.
"You dared to tread upon my land uninvited?"
The voice was soft yet infused with authority, sending shivers down their spines. It reverberated in the air, seeming to come from everywhere at once. The fog thickened, coalescing into a faint, shifting silhouette in the distance before it materialized, revealing a purple-robed woman who wore a veil, but her eyes couldn't be any more playful."V-Void Dust Empress…" Elder Ramus didn't know why he thought this person was the Void Dust Empress, but since she gave off the aura of a plant lifeform and claimed it was her land, he instantly thought she was the one.
He instantly raised his hand, "Forgive us, Fairy Void Dust Tree. We came to investigate the underlying problem that haunts the Vast Quake Mountain, so it wouldn't become dangerous to us in the future. We found this space and thought that there were treasures, but we didn't think it would be your home. We had no idea it belonged to you, so we mean no offense."
"Yes, we would like to return. We will even offer you tributes." Elder Nonek pitched in, his forehead filled with sweat.
"Nay~" The purple-robed woman gladly replied, "Elder Ramus and Elder Nonek. I have seen you two before. One of you has a wife and a child, and the other has no one but loves all. If you want to stay alive and see them remain fine, obediently surrender. If you try to use your avatars or soul bodies to inform others of what you found here, then don't blame me for being ruthless."
"…"
Elder Ramus's expression had frozen while Elder Nonek was also panic-stricken. It seemed that this entity knew about them well, which means that she wasn't alone but was probably part of the alliance the Divine Emperor of Death had made!
========
"You are…?"
Mystic Diviner Oliver's expression was solemn as he looked at the pink-robed fairy. She seemed to be seated on the fog- no, a cloud, which left him speechless because this was the ground and not the sky. Regardless, he remained cautious and looked elsewhere.
A black-robed woman walked out from the fog.
"Greetings, pesky Mystic Diviner. You brought needless trouble for us, so be ready to pay the price."
Six demonic heads appeared behind the woman.
The moment they appeared and all six pairs of eyes shone purple, Mystic Divine Oliver felt an immense tug on his soul.
"What!?"
He held his head, trying to stop his soul from leaving, and barely managed to succeed. His focus returned, and he looked ahead, noticing that the black-robed woman remained at the same place, so he instantly changed direction to the other place and saw that the pink-robed fairy was still hovering on a cloud.
However, she seemed to be holding something. It elongated all the way up to him and wrapped his body, making him shudder as he couldn't understand when he had been caught.
"Don't resist for your own good, Mystic Diviner. Just let it go and sleep~"
He looked at the places where the vine's thorns made scratches all over its body. He belatedly managed to know that a severe suppressant was being spread throughout his body, causing his senses to numb and be forced to sleep.
"No… I won't…!"
Mystic Diviner Oliver growled. He slapped his forehead and began to burn his soul essence.
"Roving Karmic Soulswap Retreat!"
Activating an escape technique, his main soul instantly tried to switch places with his soul body. Although he would use his main body, he didn't have time to consider, or rather, he knew he was screwed if he walked into a den of Divergents under the helm of the Divine Emperor of Death!
His soul shone with a bright light before it dimmed.
He collapsed, seemingly having lost control of his body. However, his expression turned unsightly as he looked at the two women who seemed to have no emotions in their eyes. Instead, he noticed a third person appearing.
He felt goosebumps appearing all over his body as he felt like he was shacked by something.
"Do you take me to be non-existent, fellow Mystic Diviner?"
Mystic Diviner Oliver looked at the woman clad in a white robe. She had beautiful blonde hair, extremely reminiscent of the features of the Divine Emperor of Death and Clara.
"You are… you are that Mystic Diviner who has been concealing his tracks all along…?"
Rather than the fear of death, Mystic Diviner Oliver's expression lit up with excitement and a hint of challenge.
"You could say that." Tia simply shrugged, "For now, just go to sleep. If you want to talk, it can be done later. I hope you have some unseen diviner arts that I could use."
"You-!"
Mystic Diviner Oliver roared at the disrespect. However, he could barely raise his voice before he planted his face in the void dust sand and went unconscious. The sleep paralysis induced by the substance injected into him by that pink-robed woman's vine was just too much to endure.
Lereza saw that Mystic Diviner Oliver had been subdued before she turned to look in another direction.
"Illumina, could you lower the illusory fog veil? We're done here."
The fog didn't retreat, but Lereza and the others gained more vision within the foggy area, allowing them to see Davis and the two Heaven's Warriors still engaged in a conversation.
However, with Davis standing imposingly with the chaos-attribute spear by his side, they were interested to see how he would deal with them.
