Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3500 Settling The Debt

"You're here again so soon~"

Davis sat in front of Fairy Thunderblaze with a table in between them.

"Well, that was rather a quick welcome, unlike previously. Were you expecting me to return with what I promised?"

He asked with a knowing smile. When he appeared near the Blazing Thunderlight Sect this time, he was quickly noticed and welcomed. Although there wasn't fanfare, there was much respect on the level of red carpet welcome with guards aligned on the pathway.

"Of course." Fairy Thunderblaze's melodious voice echoed out.

"I believe we may have had some misunderstandings, but I am still confident that you are a man of your word. If you are not, well- I would be disappointed, to say the least."

Davis stared at her for a few seconds, looking at her unmoving eyes before he nodded.

"Alright, you did well waiting all this while."

Davis sent her a life ring. It was new and was at the High-Level Immortal Emperor Grade. It flew towards Fairy Thunderblaze before she reached out her palm, where it landed upon her.

Looking into the unbound life ring, her gaze shook.

She heaved a breath, appearing to be moved at the quality of the annihilative heavenly flame wisps inside the life ring. She could sense its prowess was at Mid-Stage Immortal Emperor.

It was still covered by a layer of life energy that seemed to keep it afloat and tame, making her raise her head to look at Davis.

"I know I can believe you."

Fairy Thunderblaze stood up as she wore the life ring on her left hand's index finger, "Although it took some time and a few reminders, I believed you would bring annihilative heavenly flames to me regardless. It's just- my urge to become stronger has been significantly boosted by you, so I couldn't wait. I'll apologize for the trouble."

Davis lightly nodded before he gestured with an amused smile, "The life ring is not cheap."

"Of course, I'll return it after use."

"No need. Take it as a compensation for the delay."

"If you say so~" Fairy Thunderblaze's melodious voice echoed out.

"Would you like some tea? I know you would come, so I collected High-Level Immortal Emperor Grade Tea Leaves myself from the Arkrain Forest, and these leaves come from a mix of plants-"

Fairy Thunderblaze poured steaming amber liquid into the set of cups, causing an aromatic scent to envelope the room.

"Wild Restavia, Freal Mint, and a touch of Verdant Lemon…"

"Unfortunately," Davis wryly smiled, "I have not brushed up on my knowledge of herbs at the Immortal Emperor Grade, so I wouldn't know what you are talking about."

"Aha~" Fairy Thunderblaze giggled in response as though his honesty amused her, "That's fine as I believe you will grow stronger and far more erudite, even peeking into the secrets of the heavens."

She sat down and gestured elegantly, "Please."

"Well," Davis shrugged and reached out his hand, "… your belief is going to get me killed."

He grasped the cup and brought it towards his face. The aroma was exquisite, invoking his sense of appetite. He raised his head and saw that she also took the cup at the same time as him and elegantly took a sip as her veil floated lightly.

Davis also sipped the tea.

As they sipped the tea, the flavors unfolded on their tongues, a symphony of earthy warmth and floral notes playing in their mouths.

"How was it?"

Fairy Thunderblaze watched Davis's reaction, her lips slightly curling.

"Hmm~ A delicacy indeed."

Davis nodded as he closed his eyes and enjoyed it, continuing to take sips. The hot tea warmed his tummy, allowing him to feel a further sense of relaxation, making him feel like he needed this after his rodeo with Eldia.

"That's good to hear."

Fairy Thunderblaze placed the cup on the table and adjusted her seating position, appearing interested, "Would you be open to further ventures— perhaps in the true immortal world?"

"As long as there are benefits for the both of us, I don't see any problems."

"Perfect~"

"But as I said before, if you do anything that would harm my people, then the deal's off."

"That— I can't promise that it won't be a problem as accidents happen, but I'll do my best and assure you what happened to Alstreim Windstorm won't happen again."

Davis kept the empty tea cup on the table and eyed her, "Your call."

He said and leaned back, appearing to be making himself at home as he even stretched.

Fairy Thunderblaze nodded, "If anyone from your family comes up with a plan to save you or anyone else at the cost of sacrificing themselves, I'll deny them no matter what."

"Perfect."

Davis tapped the air once as though signing a deal.

Fairy Thunderblaze saw that he really didn't care about his life that much, causing her to heave a breath.

They talked a bit more about the tea before moving on to the happenings in the First Haven World, eventually talking about the Candidacy.

Apparently, Fairy Thunderblaze still didn't have the notion to join the Candidacy. She was planning to sit this out and even complained she didn't expect the cultivation of the Candidates to be sealed in the Immortal King Stage.

He was aware that she complained of it once before, or with her brains and speed, she wouldn't need to worry about anyone except Fallen Heaven. He admitted that if her cultivation wasn't restricted and she was an enemy, she would be as tough as the evil outsider trio since she could inflict damage to his family if she wanted to, all the while hiding behind the scenes, not to mention her ridiculous trump card at the peak of the Immortal Emperor Stage.

Fortunately, he was able to meet her in the Central Primesky Alliance and ended up forming a complicated relationship as though they were two different bandit groups, restricting each other.

Her trump card that was about to die had also saved him, so he still felt somewhat indebted to her. That's why he said that they have further ventures, and she seemed to be in a good mood enough to bring that up from her side.

"Ultimately, the Candidacy couldn't be anything good. It could be a slaughterhouse where the last one remains standing. Are you sure you want to send two of your wives to it if you care so much about them?"

"Nope, I'm not fine with it, but it's their duty, and they're honorable enough to follow it through. If at all it did turn into a slaughterhouse, I think someone should watch out. If they have any brains like you, then they'll try to indirectly warn me at the very least."

Fairy Thunderblaze's gaze flashed, "You have guts. Who do you think you are?"

He dares to threaten the master of this world?

They were Anarchic Divergents, for heaven's sake. She believed it would be stupid of them to think they were not monitored.

"Do I really need to say?" Davis was relaxed on the couch as he lay sideways and threw high-grade type of grapes into his mouth, feeling the sweetness and sourness hit the spot.

In his mind, the World Master was not afraid of him or Fallen Heaven. He was very clear about that.

However, he knew she was certainly afraid of losing Saintess Lunaria and the First Haven World. If she forced Isabella, Shirley, and Evelynn to die in the Candidacy, he was confident he could throw the most calamitous tantrum in the First Haven World, one that would shake the universe.

Even if he could not do anything against her, he was confident of dooming the World Master's universe, achieving what the World Master wanted to avoid at all costs.

"…"

Fairy Thunderblaze eventually sighed.

She couldn't tell if this man was delusional or confident to be determined enough to pick a fight against the World Master. Ever since she entered the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm, her horizons had widened, and from there, she could imagine what kind of powerful hegemon the World Master would be like.

She… absolutely… didn't want to offend such a person, an immortal deity.

However, she sighed again.

"I hate it when you make me feel like there is much more that I can do."

She raised her hands and extended her fingers, causing annihilative heavenly lightning strands and destructive heavenly flames wisps to dance.

"It makes me feel like I've wasted my life all this time."

"Being competitive is good." Davis rose up and shot a knowing smile, "If it weren't for Myria's presence both as a teacher and rival, I wouldn't be this strong. You should also learn from her since you two seem to be somewhat close."

"I will if I have the chance," Fairy Thunderblaze cupped her hands, causing the strand of fire and lightning energy to die.

"Until next time."

"It was nice meeting you, but I don't think we'll have the opportunity to meet again unless you come to my weddings. After we ascend, I hope you don't scheme yourself to death, or I guess I should worry about that myself. Hahaha."

Davis laughed at himself as he walked out, knowing that he could also do some stupid schemes and get himself killed. The true immortal world wouldn't be as forgiving as the First Haven World.

Fairy Thunderblaze watched him leave, a strange light lurking in her eyes.

After Davis appeared, he headed back to his city, feeling good that he got rid of the debt.

'Seems like she didn't have any schemes today. After all the warnings, perhaps she toned it down a bit…'

He thought, not finding anything suspicious with the tea or her actions. There were no karmic traps either, so he determined she was fine as an ally for the moment.

Halfway to his home, he turned to look in the southern direction, wondering if he should go beat up Saint Riyal Mendez and steal his Divine Technique since his wedding with Everlight was closing in.

However, he reconsidered and felt like he shouldn't poke any beehives right now, even though he was confident he could blaze the hive to the ground.
