Davis waited with his eyes closed and arms folded.

He was pretty sure that Fairy Thunderblaze could perceive his soul sense, so he began to wonder if she was intentionally stalling to annoy him. After all, it was more than half an hour after the promised time.

But soon, Fairy Thunderblaze eventually arrived.

Once she took off from the mausoleum, it didn't even take her ten seconds to arrive. Her figure was no different than a blazing lightning dragon that soared in the skies, although she was supposed to be a kirin- except the magnificence was no different, shocking the people behind Davis.

"So she's the villainess you were talking about…"

Claire smirked ever so lightly, appearing curious as she saw Fairy Thunderblaze appear. Her figure's dignified movements were alone enough to earn approval from many suitors, but the untouchable aura around her filled with a prickly sensation was even more intriguing, like a rose full of thorns.

She could understand why her son would be cautious of her.

"Oh? A pregnant lady and a few other people who look like they are your siblings. Is that all?"

Fairy Thunderblaze panned her gaze at Claire and the others.

"That is all." Davis answered, "Let me introduce them so you don't accidentally mess with them. This is my mother, my second brother-"

He didn't hold back and gestured at Edward and the others, causing Fairy Thunderblaze's brows to twitch every now and then as she glanced at Claire.

She sure was… fertile to have given birth to almost every single one of them here.

Even now, she seemed to be carrying a baby, making even her cheeks twitch.

She was quite interested in Davis's mother since everything seemed to have started from her from what she managed to gather. However, since she was already warned and his mother was pregnant, she didn't want to court death today.

"Are you trying to save your Founder?" She glanced at Davis, "I'm sure you have more people you want to bring back as I heard your family is quite big, and you value relationships above your own mental well-being."

"You overpraise me." Davis gently smiled as though keeping appearances in front of his family, "I'm not such a good person as I'm also capable of severing bonds if it comes down to it."

"A heartless man indeed." Fairy Thunderblaze smirked behind her veil, her words carrying many meanings.

"But I don't see your beloved first wife anywhere. Surely, you wouldn't abandon her even if your life is in jeopardy."

"Fairy Thunderblaze understands me very well."

Davis chuckled, "My first wife is a genius and an excellent cultivator who managed to gain one against the heavens. To her, finding a way out of this world is but a mere child's play."

"What?"

Fairy Thunderblaze's eyes narrowed.

Her mind became filled with that silent woman who stayed beside him. She hadn't had a chance to interact with Evelynn as she hadn't paid attention, and neither did she due to the altercation she had had with Davis.

Was there another way from inside? She couldn't believe it as she had to plan so much from the past in order to have created this kind of way to enter, and it would've only worked if the grand barrier of the Grand Beginnings Continent was sabotaged or cracked in some way, allowing her own karma to create a path through spatial arts.

Otherwise, it should be nearly impossible to find another way.

"Then what business do you have with my path to bring your treasured mother and siblings here instead of using your first wife's path?"

Her lips curled in amusement.

"Your methods may have been foolish, but the results allowed me to have some peace of mind as I was able to rely on this path in case all else failed. Besides, this path is extremely stable and doesn't weigh upon one's physical body much, which is what my mother and my little siblings need to traverse."

Davis looked at Claire and smiled before turning to look at Fairy Thunderblaze, his hands rising to clasp.

"Many thanks, Fairy Thunderblaze. I apologize for misunderstanding your intentions and won't forget this help.'

Davis bowed lightly.

When he went through Fairy Thunderblaze's path, it was light and didn't put much pressure. However, the same couldn't be said about Evelynn's path. Sure, it was less stable, but the path was rocky, carrying quite the risk along with it, so he brought his mother, Edward, and his two wives, Diana and Wayn Nolan, and even the two pipsqueaks, Evan and Laura.

Fairy Thunderblaze's path was the right choice for Evan and Laura as their meager cultivation could barely withstand any rocky situation. Of course, if he protected them with his energy, it wouldn't be much of a problem, but anything could happen while traversing in a spatial storm, so he'd rather want to use Fairy Thunderblaze's path.

It didn't go through a spatial storm. It merely connected one place to another in a straight line through the grand barrier fog like a bridge. Even though he could simply use Evelynn's path as it was stable enough, he felt this path was good for the weak and vulnerable ones.

"…"

Meanwhile, Fairy Thunderblaze was taken aback.

She thought he was bluffing to bring down the magnitude of her help, but he actually thanked her for it, even making a bow of apology after all the insults he hurled at her?lightsnovel

She couldn't understand. What made him change his mind after doubting her so much? Or was he stringing her along? She was aware that he was also an Enigmatic Heart Laws user who could manipulate and scheme as much as her.

"You claim to know my intentions." She voiced out amusedly, "Entertain me."

Davis dropped his bow, his solemn expression turning amused.

"You find it hard to forget me."

"Forget you?" Her voice was still amused, "I won't deny it. After all, you're always on my mind, making me wonder what you'll do next, as there's no other man as powerful as you who intrigues me."

"…"

lightsΝοvεl ƈοm Davis saw that she was still hiding her true emotions, causing him to shake his head.

He didn't wish to pursue her due to her volatility, so he dropped the matter and gestured, "Let's go."

Fairy Thunderblaze nodded and cast her gaze at Claire.

"You gave birth to a wonderful son who has shown me that I could become even stronger. You can be proud."

She spoke pridefully before turning around and traversing toward the iridescent vortex.

Claire blinked, not knowing what was going on.

Weren't these two supposed to hate each other? She had heard Fairy Thunderblaze imprisoned her son once and even decided to sacrifice Founder Alstreim Windstorm without consulting Davis in order to stabilize the path, so there should be some discord. However, why did she feel like it was complicated instead?

"Son, I know I said I wouldn't say anything, but too many women are not good for your health and are also disrespectful to your wives, even if they are fine with it."

Claire patted Davis, sending him a physical transmission before she walked past him.

"…"

Davis inwardly cried, knowing his mother was disappointed in him for having more than twenty women. His status as a full-fledged womanizer was outed by Evelynn even though she said she was fine with it.

It wasn't like the women here didn't accept polygamy as it was the norm, but it shouldn't have gone past a single digit. Any more than that, and people would find it harder to respect him as a husband unless he had established himself as a King or an Emperor of an Empire.

Of course, they still held a great amount of respect for him, but the more frivolous he was, the more his reputation was going to take a hit.

Nonetheless, Davis was established in his ways.

He didn't care about other people's opinions and only cared about the opinion of the harem when it came to other women. He committed to living for them and made it known, so the vice versa was also true.

He knew they didn't like Fairy Thunderblaze, so he didn't want to even go near her.

But looking at her back, he wondered how lonely she was in her as he came to understand the life of female Divergents through Myria, Vereina, and Fairy Thunderblaze.

Myria eventually decided to keep people at arm's length or use them in order to keep them away from her karmic burden.

Vereina was clueless. She didn't know the ways of a Divergent and didn't abuse her close ones but, as a result, lost her people, her sect.

Fairy Thunderblaze was just the opposite. From a young age, she was probably taught to abuse her close ones so they wouldn't die.

They all had something in common, and that was to never let anyone close to their hearts or risk losing them once and for all.

Thinking back, he realized he was so rude to Vereina, who tried to rely on him by being willing to be in his debt, but he pushed her away.

He heaved a sigh, not knowing if he made the right decision, but he couldn't afford to disrespect his women again and again either.

Stepping out of the iridescent vortex, he saw that they safely made it out of the Grand Beginnings Continent, putting a smile on his complicated expression.

The iridescent vortex closed, and Founder Alstreim Windstorm fell from the skies, causing him to catch him using soul force.

Fortunately, his life didn't seem to be in danger, although his vitality appeared to be a bit spent.

At the same time, he saw through Evelynn's third eye that she made it along with everyone else to the very first spot they arrived in the First Haven World, just south of the Southern Ascendance Monument!

He saw that Ancestor Dian Alstreim and the others were safe, fueling him with joy as now he had also fulfilled his word to Isabella and the others as he brought their parents as well, not to mention brought Drake's wives back and even let Alexi Ethren on board with his wives.

Although he wondered if this was an excursion, he was glad his ghost city would be filled with people as it was just too silent outside.

He could probably see many heavenly tribulations in his city in the upcoming days as most of them were at the peak of the Mortal Realm, just a step away from entering the Immortal Stage.
