Chapter 1245 Planet

Chapter 1245 Planet

The Niqols differed from the Nele. The former were open about their urges and pursued them openly. Meanwhile, the latter experienced even stronger desires but practiced self-restraint to abide by the customs developed throughout their tragic history.

Still, different species aside, even idiots would understand what had just unfolded. As strange as it sounded, it looked like Ilman was flirting with Jenna, and she didn't refuse him.

That would typically be fine, but nothing about the situation was normal. The meeting had political purposes, and the two aliens involved had a certain uniqueness to them.

Jenna had become more open-minded after meeting Khan, or rather, anyone connected to him received a free pass on her trust. Also, Jenna had it harder than her fellow Nele to endure her natural gifts, leading to a lot of accumulated stress.

Meanwhile, Ilman was Ilman. The Niqols had pursued Liiza for years, only to perform as her groom's best man. His feelings weren't something reason could comprehend or quantify.

Of course, Ilman was no stranger to parties and occasional hook-ups, but that was a serious meeting, and Khan believed he wouldn't have indulged in casual flirting for shallow reasons. Jenna was truly stunning, but Ilman was too dutiful to think with his groin.

"[What just happened]?" Khan whispered.

"[I'm not sure]," Liiza whispered back.

The couple followed Ilman and Jenna with their gazes as they disappeared past the area before the situation forced them to snap awake. Jenna might have gone with Ilman, but the other Nele were still waiting for an escort.

"This way," Khan cleared his throat, smiling at the Nele group before walking toward the bridge. He tried to feign ignorance, but confusion reappeared on his face as soon as the newcomers became unable to see it.

Khan didn't know why but kept his walk slow, seemingly afraid of catching up with the two who had gone ahead. Liiza mimicked him, so the group didn't encounter anyone until they entered the bridge.

The sound of soft and loud laughs reached the group's ears as soon as the bridge's door opened. Jenna had sat on one of the available seats while Ilman stood before the control desk, preparing a series of drinks. The two weren't facing each other, but that didn't stop them from exchanging jokes.

"Khan was already good back then," Ilman claimed, seizing two cups and approaching Jenna's seat. "We were the best warriors of our generation and often fought together to deal with problems."

"He always spoke fondly of Nitis," Jenna commented, smiling. "You must be one of the reasons why."

"He has done more for me than I ever did for him," Ilman declared, offering one drink to Jenna. "I wouldn't be the man and Niqols I am today if it weren't for him."

"And what kind of man and Niqols is that?" Jenna curiously wondered before looking at the drink. "The Nele despise anything that might affect our ability to think."

"My deepest apologies!" Ilman gasped, hurrying back to the control desk to place down both glasses.

"No apologies needed," Jenna reassured. "You are a stranger to our culture. I can appreciate you wanting to respect it."

"Nonsense!" Ilman cried, turning to wear a stiff stance. "You are welcome guests on this ship. It's our duty to make you comfortable."

"But I am quite comfortable already," Jenna teased.

"You are polite," Ilman chuckled, "But I still wish to make you more comfortable."

Jenna threw a strange look at the red-eyed alien before being forced to glance elsewhere. Khan, Liiza, and her fellow Nele had arrived, seizing different seats to form a partial circle.

Ilman forgot about the drinks and sat on Khan and Liiza's side, but his eyes remained on Jenna. She was in the same situation, curiously studying the red-haired Niqols from head to toe, seemingly looking for something.

That interest was evident for everyone to see but also too eye-catching for Khan to let it continue uninterrupted. It was simply too distracting for that meeting, so Khan chose to start by getting directly to the point.

"I rescued a young Nele from a trafficker's ship over a month ago," Khan declared. "She is currently here, but her parents are alive somewhere, and my vessel isn't the most suited to deliver her back to them."

The atmosphere on the bridge instantly changed. The Nele group grew cold, and even Jenna couldn't avoid diverting her attention. After all, that topic was quite dear to them. In a way, it was the foundation of their whole customs.

"Show us this young Nele," One of the Nele ordered, not caring that the situation didn't allow him to be so overbearing. Jenna was among the strongest in his group, so Khan, Liiza, and Ilman completely outclassed them.

"Of course," Khan instantly agreed, not minding that tone. He nodded at Ilman, who reached for the control desk to tap a button that sent a communication to the appointed room.

Tension fell into the area. No one spoke, clearly waiting for the development that could change the meeting's fate. Luckily, the silence didn't last long since the bridge's door opened again, revealing two figures.

Zalpa and Tamara stepped onto the bridge, walking hand-in-hand before the former knelt to whisper in her ear. The little Nele nodded, throwing a quick and sudden hug at Zalpa before hurrying toward the encirclement of seats.

"Uncle Khan! Aunt Liiza!" Tamara called, ignoring the Nele group and their confusion to reach the married couple.

Khan and Liiza instantly left their seats, kneeling to welcome the little Nele between their arms. Both caressed her green hair, and Khan pinched her cheek before turning her toward the Nele group.

"She is the Nele friend I talked to you about," Khan explained, nodding at Jenna. "She will take care of bringing you back to your parents."

Jenna stood up, and Tamara couldn't help but follow her movement through her big, timid eyes. She wasn't scared about Jenna, but the tall, stunning Nele remained quite a sight.

"Hello," Jenna called, bending forward to show her palm. "I'm Jenna. Did Khan and Liiza treat you well?"

Tamara glanced at Khan and Liiza, who nodded, giving her permission. The little Nele then looked at Jenna, stepping forward to place her hand on hers.

"I'm Tamara," Tamara exclaimed. "Yes, Uncle Khan and Aunt Liiza saved me from the fat human's ship. They also gave Carlos and the others something for my pheromones while I lived here."

Jenna and the other Nele didn't know who Carlos was but could read between the lines. Tamara was basically saying that Khan and Liiza had never forced her to suppress her pheromones but had placed that responsibility on everyone else.

"And when Tamara gets scared and can't sleep," Tamara continued, "Uncle Khan and Aunt Liiza let me sleep with them and hold me tightly."

"Is that so?" Jenna pretended to gasp, but her smiling eyes soon fell on Khan. "Do you know I did that, too? Khan is very permissive with us cute girls."

Tamara giggled, unable to see the cold glare behind her back. Jenna ignored it, too, but a sigh eventually escaped her mouth.

"I can't do it anymore now," Jenna added. "So, make sure to get your fill before we leave."

"Are we leaving Uncle Khan and Aunt Liiza?" Tamara wondered, sadness filling her cute face.

"Soon," Jenna nodded, "But not forever. I'm sure they'll visit you as soon as they get the chance."

Tamara turned, looking worriedly at the married couple. Tears started to accumulate in her eyes, and Jenna sensed it even if she couldn't see her face.

"Why don't you stay with them for now?" Jenna suggested, glancing at her fellow Nele. "We agree, right?"

The Nele group felt on the spot and conflicted, but Tamara was too clueless about the political implications to care. As soon as Jenna gave her veiled permission, she shot back toward Khan and Liiza, hiding between them while they secured her in a loving embrace.

The other Nele didn't know what to do or how to handle that scene. Generally, their youngest grew used to physical contact within their species, forsaking it until they found their one. However, Tamara's experience differed, and it was clear how close she had gotten to the married couple.

Also, the married couple itself was strange. Liiza held Tamara, caressing her hair and whispering in her ears, while Khan tried to hold back, waiting for the Nele to give their approval.

The Nele felt cornered, but not in a bad way. Nods eventually unfolded among the group, allowing Khan to focus on Tamara, lifting her to bring her to his seat. Liiza joined him, letting the little Nele rest in their loving embrace.

Jenna had to drop any pretense of wanting to tease the couple. She had seen Khan at one of his worst, and that scene couldn't be any different. Khan looked completely at peace and happy, especially when his glowing gaze captured the two girls on his lap.

There was a time when Jenna would have been jealous of the dark blue woman on Khan's lap, but everything told her that the scene was simply right. Nothing could have been more perfect, and Jenna felt warmer than ever.

"I am truly happy for you, Khan," Jenna announced, still crouched down.

"It wouldn't have been possible without you," Khan admitted, unable to look away from the two girls on his lap. "It took many bloody rivers, but I eventually found my flowers."

Liiza couldn't help but look up, scolding Khan with her eyes while her lip fell between her teeth. That truly wasn't the right moment for romance, but Khan's fatherly stance was something she had yet to learn how to endure.

"On that point," Khan continued, saving Liiza before her self-control gave in. "I have another matter to discuss. I once made you a promise, didn't I?"

Jenna straightened herself but remained confused. She recalled her time with Khan vividly but couldn't understand what he was speaking about.

"It's not perfect," Khan revealed. "It's still under construction, actually, but I might have found the Nele a planet."
