CHAOS HEIR

Chapter 1105 Incomplete

Chapter 1105 Incomplete

'What kind of sick joke is this?' Khan cursed in his mind.

The [Blood Shield] had survived the attack. That vast beam of green light had failed to pierce Khan's defensive spell, only managing to burn his superficial skin. Still, a pleasant cold sensation spread over those scarred parts, albeit for all the wrong reasons.

As impossible as it sounded, the beam had pushed Khan out of Coravis' atmosphere, sending him straight into space. The planet's breathtaking sight was right under him, and he didn't have time to appreciate it or marvel at the attack's prowess.

The [Blood Shield] dispersed as Khan's feet released mana, and a scarlet membrane enveloped his body. The pilot's technique wouldn't help in the breathing-related aspect of his situation since it couldn't trap any air, but Khan didn't linger on those details. He didn't have time to.

Khan shot at full speed toward the planet, his momentum constantly increasing. Truth be told, he wasn't far from Coravis' atmosphere but still didn't dare to waste any second.

After all, the ancient snake seemed able to roam through space freely. At least the underwater lake had shown as much, and Khan couldn't let their battle happen in that deadly environment. That would mean a certain defeat.

Khan quickly dived into Coravis' atmosphere, diving through its sky. The planet's air tried to apply its friction force, but Khan's presence vanquished it, allowing him to return to a relatively normal altitude in no time.

The immense creature immediately appeared in Khan's sight. Truthfully, he had spotted it even before touching the planet's atmosphere. The snake was a gargantuan landmark that Khan couldn't miss, but that also revealed peculiar details.

Khan returned to a similar position without meeting any hindrance. He stopped mid-air with the giant creature floating at some distance from him. The two studied each other, but neither acted.

The Great Old One was too big to be bothered by the previous explosions, but Khan saw their traces. The creature's immense body tried to hide them, but Khan followed the traces in the symphony, eventually spotting some damage.

Relatively large cracks had appeared on certain scaled spots. The damage was nothing compared to the snake's massive size, but it existed, and Khan wouldn't call it negligible. He couldn't see any blood, but his spells had managed to piece that ancient flash, which was a start.

On the other side, Khan was in a similar state. The green beam had burned him, but his body could easily disregard that damage. It didn't even hurt anymore, and Khan believed that the slight redness on his skin would disappear in no time.

However, Khan did spot something peculiar. For some reason, the snake didn't exploit Khan's temporary weakness. It didn't shoot after him in space nor try to hinder its return to the planet, and he couldn't explain why.

"We won't let space take our glory, Nak's Heir," The Great Old One hissed as if knowing what Khan was thinking. "We are mighty. We don't need tricks."

Khan couldn't help but feel that something was up. He couldn't explain why he sensed that, but his instincts were rarely wrong. They kept raging during the hypnosis in the end, so there had to be some truth behind them.

Khan's thoughts inevitably went on the previous exchange. Reasonably speaking, an attack capable of pushing him out of Coravis' atmosphere should have also been able to destroy him.

However, the [Blood Shied] had perfectly protected Khan. Moreover, he wouldn't let the beam push him away anymore now that he knew about its strengths. Everything could still be part of a strategy, but that forced Khan to consider another point.

'What if the lake was a trick?' Khan wondered.

It was possible, and it would make sense. The snake had no reason to avoid unleashing a killing blow or exploiting Khan's inability to survive in space for a long time. The ancient creature could hide behind pride, but Khan knew that feeling's true shape, and he didn't sense it there.

'It said the work wasn't complete,' Khan realized, 'And it was the smallest of the bunch. Maybe …'

Khan disappeared, materializing on top of the giant snake's head. His foot touched that scaled landmass, unleashing a cluster of condensed entropy.

A shallow dent appeared on the vast scale, which deepened when a circle of cracks opened around it. The process continued until several concentric wounds littered that patch of scales, but the depth of the first injury no longer increased.

Khan could do much more during that exchange but decided to watch. The Great Old One didn't rely on any specific technique to endure his attack. Its flesh was simply incredibly resilient, allowing it to turn one of Khan's best kicks into nothing more than a shallow injury.

The snake didn't stay still, either. A deep hiss resounded from its bottomless throat while its reptilian head rose, lifting the very sky through its impressive size. Torrents of violent gales shot upward, engulfing Khan in a raging storm, but his glowing eyes remained open, fixed on the scaled mountain that was about to hit him.

Khan's foot touched the scales, and the world around him transformed. His crown partially kept his hair still, but his uniform and cape fluttered to no end as his figure shot horizontally through the sky, crossing entire quadrants in a matter of seconds.

The process hurt. Khan had an incredible body, and his aura could remove the air from the equation, but his insides felt compressed anyway. That speed was almost too much even for him, but his leg was fine, and his figure eventually stopped.

Khan stopped horizontally mid-air before slowly straightening himself up. He glanced at his right leg, which had lost most of the clothes covering it. The impact had been violent but strangely simple, so simple Khan had dispersed most of it, only leaving its pushing force.

The snake had also followed after Khan. When he stopped, the creature's immense reptilian head was already in sight, and he let it circle him. The snake coiled its massive body, leaving Khan at its center, before lifting its neck to stare down at him.

Khan could still escape. That was nothing remotely close to a trap since the path downward was open, but his eyes never went there. He met the snake's blue gaze, and a mocking smirk inevitably appeared on his face.

"You are incomplete," Khan announced. "Aren't you?"
